Chapter 1454: Breaking Record!
After Lily and Khaval went to their respective training environments, Aakesh closed all his senses except for direction.
A few moments later, Aakesh found himself staring at the small blue screen with the sword in his hand.
Aakesh reflexively tapped on the screen, choosing to start the first round of battle. Following that, a white light washed over the arena.
Growl!
A growl filled with killing intent rang in Aakesh's head, and he turned around. The opponent for that day's battle presented himself.
It was a humanoid, transparent creature floating on the battlefield. It had no legs to speak of, only a tail like the end of a dialog box.
Aakesh recognized the race of the creature with a single glance. It was a member of the Bhusidra race, a race in the spirit group, and it was now extinct in the Sacred Dimension.
The Bhusidras had great talent when it came to archery since one of their two hands was in the shape of a bow. The race went extinct due to its reproduction woes.
Any inhabitant of the Sacred Dimension has eternal life, but when their group numbers are short, they are bound to go extinct unless they start living in hiding.
The Bhusidras were too proud to live in hiding, so one by one, they died, and the race reached its extinction. It wasn't an instant process since they had no enemy, but it happened over a span of several trillion years.
Aakesh nodded in appreciation since his opponent was a good fighter. Aakesh liked bows the most, but what he was strongest in was the sword, so finding strong opponents when he carried the sword was always good.
Ding!
The next moment, the sound of the bell rang, announcing the start of the first round of battle.
The creature immediately began to shoot arrows, but before it could even touch the string to stretch the bowstring, it was cut into two symmetrical, clean pieces.
No blood fell on the ground since they were spirit creatures. Even though Aakesh used a simple physical move, his sword had enough strength to cut through spirit due to the wide power gap between the two parties.
Following the expected instant end of the battle, a blue light washed over the arena, freezing time, and soon after, the familiar blue screen popped out in front of him.
Aakesh tapped on to start the second round of battle, and in no time, the screen reappeared.
For the first hundred rounds, Aakesh didn't have to use any strength at all since a casual slash was more than enough to cut through the spirit body of the creature. And all battles ended instantly.
It was the 107th battle that forced Aakesh to use a tiny part of his strength since his casual strike could no longer cut the Bhusidra into two clean pieces. Even then, it was an instant end to the battle.
A similar situation kept playing out for the next minute. In around two minutes, Aakesh battled for 200+ rounds and ended it with the first strike.
With every battle, the opponent's strength was growing at an outrageous rate but were unable to close the wide power gap between the two opponents until the 278th round.
It was the first battle that forced Aakesh to use a sword skill. Even then, the battle went without much effort from Aakesh's side.
Time flew by, and soon it was time for the 283rd round of battle.

The Bhusidras were great archers, so their agility and reflexes were growing at a crazy rate after every increase in the round. If it was an archer battle between the two, the Bhusidra at that round was matching up to Aakesh's strength a month ago.
But even Aakesh, as an archer, would fear himself when he had the sword in his hand.
Despite the sky being covered in arrows, Aakesh casually cut all of them into numerous pieces and charged at the opponent.
The Bhusidra activated a skill and screamed. It was unable to faze Aakesh for even a moment, and he reached the creature.
Slash!
Aakesh slashed, but what his sword hit was the empty air. The enemy had teleported to the back of his head.
With an arrow aimed at his head, Aakesh pushed some strength to his legs and jumped upward.
Whoosh!
At the same time, an arrow flew through the air, but Aakesh had already disappeared from the location. The creature immediately aimed at the sky and shot.
The sword in Aakesh's hand was glowing blood red, and he descended. His sword didn't even touch the opponent, but the Bhusidra was still cut into two symmetrical, clean pieces.
Following that, a wave of blood-red fire engulfed the split corpse, and the opponent turned into ash. After the 250th round, the opponent stopped dying from getting cut, irrespective of their numbers.
As long as a single part of their spirit existed, they were alive, so Aakesh burned it and won another round of battle.
Even though the battle went on for around a minute, Aakesh was still the overwhelming factor in the fight. One after another round of battles happened, resulting in Aakesh's victory, and soon it was his 298th round of battles.
The last best before that day was 295, with him losing the 296th round while having the spear as his weapon. Aakesh had already broken the record by two levels, and he wasn't confident of reaching the 300th level for the first time.
But since Aakesh wasn't one to give up on the battle, he tapped on the screen, and the battle arena appeared as new as before.
Ding!
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
The sound of the bell hadn't even subsided when numerous arrows flew toward Aakesh, tearing through the air. Each aimed to pierce one vital part.
Aakesh's eyes were cold, and he disappeared from his spot. The next moment, he appeared behind the opponent, but before he could do anything, the hand bow was aimed at him, ready to shoot.
The creature immediately released the string, and it tore through Aakesh's head like a watermelon.
The world around Aakesh instantly turned dark, and immediately after, he returned to the selection area.
