Chapter 29 : Was Concerned About Her Part 1

Chen Shu looked at the time. It was late in the day, so he must wake up Ye Sui. Chen Shu stretched out his hand to shake her. In just a second, his hand caressed her.

But all of a sudden, Ye Sui turned her head. Specifically, her body moved and was facing Chen Shu, making the distance between them close.

Ye Sui’s lips were almost touching Chen Shu’s hand. They only an inch away. Just a little closer, and they would inevitably meet his fingers. Her breathing was smooth and was brushing against Chen Shu’s fingers. Chen Shu was stupefied and stared at her with mixed feelings. Warm air was still stroking his hand. Therefore, Chen Shu made a wise choice. He straightened up, raised his hand, picked up a corner of the quilt, gently and precisely aligned it at Ye Sui’s face, and then covered it.

He stepped back and continued to stand beside the bed while waiting for her to wake up.

Ye Sui was still dreaming, and if she knew Chen Shu’s method of waking her up, she would undoubtedly complain about it. His way was entirely different, somewhat rude too.

While amid her dream, Ye Sui felt the air was getting heavier and her breathing somewhat laborious. She frowned and pulled the quilt aside and poked her head out. Only then was she refreshed, and her breaths became much more comfortable.

In a daze, Ye Sui faintly heard a clear voice. “Woke up?”

She subconsciously replied, “Well, I’m awake.”

The familiar voice continued, “Did you sleep well?”

Ye Sui kept on speaking while in the half-sober state, “It was quite good. So much better, in fact! How could it be bad? Those ghosts didn’t come to me all night.”

Wait a minute! Ye Sui felt something amiss. ‘Who was talking to her?’ She suddenly had a bad feeling.

Immediately, she was trembling with fear as she opened her eyes. The room was a little dark, for the curtains were not draw. A man was standing beside her bed, staring at her.

The man’s back was to the light. However, she could see that his facial features were carved and well-defined.

Ye Sui felt thunderstruck, and immediately, she sobered up. Not only that, she confirmed that Chen Shu had come back. In addition, he caught her red-handed sleeping in his bed all night!

Chen Shu watched Ye Sui’s messy appearance and her barefooted dash toward the door as if there was something horrible behind her.

He just silently stared at her incomprehensible actions, feeling at a loss for words. He had some doubts in his mind; was he really so terrible?

Ye Sui was running at the fastest speed in her life. She was looking at the front, and the door had already appeared before her. Hope was right in front of her eyes. Just a few more steps and she would be out of the door with a smile.

The door was still a short distance away when suddenly, Ye Sui felt something hindering her feet. She stopped subconsciously.
