However, Yang Su immediately recover and his eyes showed determination as he rose into the air after Ling Xia.
“Senior sister Xia, I don’t care if you're betrothed to someone else! I still won’t stop pursuing you!”
Ling Xia frowned before she turned around and said, “You're not qualified, even with your talent.”
She then raised her index finger in Yang Su’s direction, and an aura of a 2nd stage Foundation Realm cultivator was released from her body.
Yang Su was a little taken aback by her cultivation, as it was only a month or two ago that she was in the Sea Expansion Realm.
She was around his age close to fourteen years old but she had already reached that high of a realm.
Her speed of cultivation was extremely fast.
From Ling Xia’s finger, a will of slaughter manifested and condense into a small pin-sized ball.
It then shot out at Yang Su before bursting apart into a spider-web-like net and encapsulated thirty meters of the forest.
Yang Su was suddenly trapped under this net that was giving off the palpable feeling of eternal slaughter.
This was an extremely powerful Daoist Magic, but Ling Xia had mastered it to the point she only need to point a finger to cast it.
Yang Su's expression was serious as he yelled back, “I’ll prove that I’m worthy!!”
Yang Su was about to call upon his other Qi Seas but he immediately stopped, as he remembered this would break his Blood Oath with his Master. He didn’t believe this was a life and death situation where he needed to reveal his Dao Foundation.
With that moment of hesitation, the net quickly shrunk down and wrapped around his body. Yang Su suddenly felt his cultivation being forcefully suppressed by the net and he quickly began falling from the sky.
Ling Xia watched his figure disappear among the trees before turning around, and speeding up.
With her back turned, she raised her hand to touch her lips with her fingers. As Ling Xia remembered the kiss from before, her heart fluttered like it did then and her cheeks turned slightly red.
‘That pervert, how could he take away my first kiss like that? But he said it was his first time too…’
Ling Xia blushed even harder than before and covered her face in embarrassment from thinking about it.
Meanwhile, this was going on, Xi Shen had changed routes from going back to the Inner Academy to head for Ye Fei’s mountain by following his instructions.
It wasn’t as big as one might think, and aside from a simple courtyard and beautiful scenery, there wasn’t much to see on it.
After entering the courtyard, Xi Shen glanced around for a moment before heading to the main dining area.
There he saw Ye Fei sitting around a plain wooden table, that had a pot of tea on it. He had a cup of untouched tea in front of him, and across from him was another cup that was meant for Xi Shen.
Xi Shen headed for the table and sit down across from Ye Fei.
“Vice Headmaster, you mind telling me the favor you wish to request now that I’m here?”
Ye Fei smiled, and said, “Before that, why don’t second prince have a taste of the tea first, after that, I’ll state the request I have.”
Xi Shen’s brows furrowing a bit, not really sure if this was something that high experts like to do before getting on topic. He had come to realize the people in this era were really crazy for tea, even experts at a high-level of cultivation drink it apparently.
Xi Shen was more of a wine person, but he still oblige to Ye Fei’s suggestion.
Xi Shen picked up the tea, and because of a force of habit on his mother’s part, he instinctively assumed the posture of someone of nobility and he took a sip.
‘So he can have the mannerisms of a prince, I wonder why he acts the way he does then.’ Ye Fei thought to himself rather off handily as Xi Shen placed down the cup of tea.
“It’s the worst tea I’ve ever tasted. It’s completely bland and has no flavor. What exactly did you make it from, plain grass? No, even plain grass would have tasted better, uck!”
Xi Shen suddenly made a face as if he had just swallowed dog shit.
Hearing Xi Shen’s critique, Ye Fei didn’t get angry and only sighed before saying, “I should have expected this results, I haven’t tested this batch myself as I was afraid of realizing I failed once again.”
“You fail to make a proper batch of tea, again? Is the favor you want to request from me is how to brew a pot of tea? I can’t imagine why this would be difficult but I guess I can help. Though to think this simple task went over Vice Headmaster’s head for so long, tsk tsk.”
Ye Fei’s face twitched a bit, and immediately stopped Xi Shen who looked like he was going to further insult his tea-making skills.
“Second Prince, that isn't…”
“Hm, why do you keep referring to me as the second prince?’
“Huh?” Suddenly being interrupted by such a strange question, Ye Fei was momentarily confused.
“I know that I am the second prince, but since I’m a Celestial Academy disciple and a member of the Sword Faction, wouldn’t your address for me as the Vice Headmaster be along those lines?”
“Your title as the second prince is higher than that of a Celestial Academy disciple's, so I address you as such. Do you not want me to address you as the second prince? Would disciple Shen be acceptable then?”
Ye Fei asked while feeling a bit unsure why this conversation was happening.
Xi Shen nodded and said, “That’s fine, you should have just called me that from the beginning.”
Trying to put his utter confusion for this boy in front of him aside, Ye Fei continued where he left off and said, “The favor I wish to ask of you disciple Shen is to allow me to borrow one of your Void Beasts.”
“No. As in no, the rumors of me possessing Void Beasts are false.”
Hearing Xi Shen’s instant reply, Ye Fei said, “Disciple Shen, I assure you all the top powers know of the existence of your Void Beasts. They only chose to ignore it since their afraid.”
Xi Shen frowned at that and asked, “They're afraid of what?”
It wasn’t that Xi Shen didn't find it weird that despite rumors going around of him possessing Void Beast there hasn’t been an attempt to steal them from him for the past thirteen to fourteen years.
There was his family’s deterrence, but even then, given how rare Void Beast is said to be, gaining two in exchange for offending him was worth the price.
To answer Xi Shen’s question, Ye Fei said, “The heavens.”
Xi Shen was taken aback for a moment at that answer.
Ye Fei then continued to say, “The true powerhouses of this Continent are a bunch of cautious and superstitious old timers. They believe that since Void Beasts are bless by the heavens if they were to forcefully enslave one it would cause the heavens to become enraged. And to them who place all their importance on their cultivations, having the heavens punish them by reducing their cultivation or having it stagnate is worst than death. As for people below them, they couldn’t even if they wanted to, given a Void Beast's natural abilities.”
After Ye Fei said that, he looked at Xi Shen and said, “So disciple Shen, would you grant me this request?”
Xi Shen paused for a moment, then asked, “Why do you need to borrow one of my Void Beasts?”
Hearing that, Ye Fei didn't respond and only waved his hands towards the cup in front of Xi Shen. To Xi Shen's stupefaction, the cup suddenly turned transparent before dissipating into thin air.
“It was an illusion?”
Xi Shen looked up shocked at Ye Fei, he never sensed anything off about the tea. Neither the feeling the cup itself gave off in his hand nor the warmth of the tea that he can still feel in his mouth. Only the flavor was off.
‘Oh.’ Xi Shen suddenly realize why Ye Fei might want his Void Beasts.
Ye Fei then said, “I’m reaching a breakthrough in the comprehension of my Sword Illusion Dao, but I’m at a bottleneck. Void Beasts have a natural ability to create Illusions, and it’s a complete chance that disciple Shen just so happened to have two of them. If I can study how they create their Illusions then I believe I’ll be able to overcome this bottleneck and break into a new realm in my Sword Skills. Disciple Shen, this might be the favor you owe me that I’m requesting from you, and you might not understand the significance of what this breakthrough means given your lack of understanding of Qi Cultivation and the higher realms, but if you grant me this opportunity, I’ll be extremely grateful.”
