“Ling Xia, I didn’t disappear, I made-”

“What?”

Ling Xia suddenly went from emotional to hostile.

“Did you find another woman to fawn over? Was I too much trouble so you decide to take my first kiss and then ran off with it? Just leave, it was honestly better if you hadn’t come back.”

Ling Xia after throwing that out ignored Yang Su and entered the building.

Yang Su seeing this gritted his teeth.

‘This girl…’

“... Just let me explain, would you?!”

He went inside as well.

Walking behind her as she turned corner after corner, Yang Su explained.

“Look, I made a promise to myself that only when I’m stronger would I consider myself worthy to pursue you fully. You made it clear that the way I was back then you wouldn’t accept my feelings.”

Ling Xia continue to walk and said without turning her head.

“When did I ever tell you not to speak to me until you were stronger?”

Yang Su’s expression froze and he stared at Ling Xia dumbfounded.

But his eyes quickly spurt fire as he raised his voice and said.

“You did! You made it clear that you and I were in two different worlds and that I wasn’t worthy to pursue you!”

“But did I tell you to go ahead a make some ridiculous rule with yourself not to see me during that?”

Yang Su open his mouth to retort but nothing came out.

He instead grabbed a hand full of his hair and seemed to be going crazy. He couldn’t understand what Ling Xia wanted him to do.

Was he supposed to have talked to her and she ignore him until he was strong enough, instead of not talking to her at all?

What was the difference?!!

Did she just want to see him try?

Yang Su looked at Ling Xia and said."

“So you're saying you wanted me to court you? Then does that mean you-”

Ling Xia slid opened a room door and turn around to stop Yang Su outside.

“I don’t care anymore, just leave.”

Ling Xia went to close the door but Yang Su held out his hand to stop it.

His expression turned unusually serious.

“Are you sure that’s what you want?”

Ling Xia frowned.

“Isn’t it obvious since I’m closing the door?”

Yang Su shook his head and said.

“Not that, I mean if I leave now I won’t ever come back. I came to see you because I’m undecided about a decision.”

“What decision?”

Ling Xia’s hand let go of the door, and Yang Su fully opened it before stepping in front of Ling Xia.

“Because of the type of cultivation I cultivate, I have to stay in the Sea Expansion Realm longer than normal, halting my progress to become stronger. I can breakthrough regardless if I complete the process or not, but my potential in the future would drop.”

Ling Xia's expression slowly became downcast as she realize what he meant.

“You should stay in the Sea Expansion Realm as long as you have to.”

After saying that, Ling Xia began pushing Yang Su out.

“Wait, what?”

Yang Su stood his ground.

“Do you understand the two choices I have to make?”

With her head lowered Ling Xia responded.

“I understand, and you shouldn’t jeopardize your cultivation progress because of what I said.”

She then used a bit more strength and pushed Yang Su out the door.

“Ling Xia wait-”

Slam.

Yang Su clenched his fist against the door.

“Ling Xia you... why are you so difficult? I just wanted you to agree to wait for me. I don’t understand why I need to get stronger to pursue you but I’m guessing it has something to do with your engagement? Can’t you just wait for me?”

A moment of silence came from behind the door before Ling Xia's voice which was barely above a whisper spoke.

“My true identity is the daughter of the Holy Saintess on the Central Continent. And the person I’m engaged with is the Crown Prince of the Tang Royal Family who destroyed my home. I can’t change that, that is my faith. If I don’t, brother and I will never be able to return to the Central Continent.”

Yang Su then heard Ling Xia softly sobbing behind the door.

“I’m sorry Yang Su, that I gave you false hope in the beginning. You should continue your cultivation, and you don’t have to make a choice between it or pursue me anymore.”

Yang Su stood there stumped.

He would have never suspected Ling Xia had such an identity, but hearing her latter words his chest felt tight.

He was silent, as he didn’t know what to say.

His fists loosened and fell from the door.

“Ling Xia…”

Yang Su whispered softly, but he could tell She was by the door and could hear him clearly.

“...I’m leaving. You’re the first girl I fell in love with. I don’t know how or why, I can’t explain it but maybe somebody else can?”

Yang Su smiled bitterly as he continued.

“It’s really embarrassing saying all of this out in the open, but I just want you to know, even if a thousand, a million, or even a billion years past and you forget me, I’ll never forget you. I’ll keep you in my heart as the first girl I ever love. But I won’t pursue you anymore.”

Yang Su heard silence in response, but he only turned and walked away.

A part of his heart being left behind as he did.

He told himself it was a silly and immature childhood crush, he’ll get over the fact that nothing ever happened between them, but it’s not something he’ll forget.

In the room, Ling Xia was leaning against the door listening to Yang Su’s steps as he walked away.

Tears stream down her cheeks as she covered her face.

However, a split-second decision came over her and she hurriedly opened the door.

“Yang Su, wai-”

However, Ling Tian suddenly appeared in front of her room door

“E-Elder brother?”

Ling Tian’s face was completely cold as he turn from the hallway to look at her.

“I won’t mention you telling him about our real identities. But if you decide to leave this room to go after him, I’ll never forgive you... mother will never forgive you.”

Ling Xia’s body shook.

Her head turned to where Yang Su left but under Ling Tian's gaze, she lowered her head and turned around to enter her room.

After the door closed, Ling Tian’s figure disappeared to appear outside floating above the building.

His cold eyes watched as Yang Su left just as he came.

He wave his hands towards the wall surrounding the courtyard and it shone with a radiant blue color.

After strengthening his Sword Aura, Ling Tian snorted coldly before teleporting away.
