Fuangu hearing that had a thoughtful expression appear on his face.
Seeing that he wasn't going to be easily convinced, Li Shen continue further.
“Why have just a small cult following when you can have a religion of your own! Just think about the endless possibilities!”
Fuangu still held a contemplating expression as he wasn’t sure what making it into a full-blown religion would accomplish.
“Wouldn’t it be too big?”
Li Shen smiled at his question and said.
“Exactly! The bigger the better! You can be its leader, spreading the tales of the mythical being known as the Shoe-less Hero!”
Fuangu's expression changed and his eyes slowly lit up upon hearing that, however, he asked again doubtfully.
“But how would I manage it alone? I-I don’t think I’ll be able to live up to his highness expectations.”
Seeing his doubtful expression, Li Shen shook his head and said.
“Why so pessimistic? Here, I’ll tell you a few things you need to do to get the expansion started.”
Fuangu was still unsure about this, but he paid full attention as Li Shen began whispering into his ears.
Several minutes later, Li Shen was seen waving Fuangu goodbye. A doubtful but determined expression was on his face as his back took on this heavy responsibility.
Meanwhile, Li Shen chuckled darkly in his heart. But he soon turn around, hands behind his back, and that laughter couldn’t help but leap from his heart to slip past his mouth.
No less than a few stares turned in his direction wondering why this person was laughing so maniacally.
However, upon recognizing that it was the infamous Second Prince though, they quickly chalked it up to, “oh it’s him,” before moving on.
Li Shen's laughter died down as he continued to walk to Ye Fei’s mountain.
His Divine Aura should see some increase in the incoming days.
He had no use for this Aura as of yet, but when an opportunity like this just falls into his lap, how could he not take advantage of it?
‘Haha, it looks like my fortune roulette has landed on a jackpot this time.’
Li Shen flipped open his fan and began fanning himself, and at ease feeling washing over his heart.
“I’m too amazing.”
Li Shen suddenly started shamelessly praising himself out of nowhere.
But after he successfully carried out that scheme back in the Inner Academy and now this happening with Fuangu, he had a right to brag, things were going well. Albeit with what happened to his members in the town still at the back of his mind.
After walking for a while, he appeared at the foot of Ye Fei's mountain.
Before he began climbing it, he sighed to himself.
“Well, that’s enough indulgence.”
Li Shen only allowed himself a short amount of time for self-praise. After all, one must know how to be shameless smartly.
He also can’t afford to get careless because of how well things are going now.
Now that he showed his shocking half-developed Divine Will that was supposed to be exclusive to Nascent Realms, and most of all his ability to thin Spiritual Qi, he was sure he was no longer missing from certain Powers' threat radar.
Li Shen began climbing the mountain.
It wasn’t an impulsive decision on his part to reveal his partial Divine Will or that ability.
His Divine Will when he revealed it, was different from what an actually Nascent Soul Realm one would be. Theirs contained the six Elemental Laws, as they were preparing to build their foundation to enter the Soul Transformation Realm.
Despite the fact that he indeed possessed comprehension of the six elements, he was able to hide them so his Divine Will looks… how should he say it? Plain?
The conclusion one would come to upon seeing it was that it was a result of his Supreme grade soul.
Him having a cultivation base, or being able to comprehend laws would be the farthest thing they would think of.
Who would believe that he, someone who can’t cultivate Qi, was somehow comprehending laws using an ancient method that the Heavens bestow to one from a time that could be considered an Immemorial Era?
His father and relatives in the Ancestral Grounds could have hardly believed it themselves.
And Li Shen was glad they didn’t pry any further than that, as he would have a hard time explaining it to them even if he wanted to.
‘Maybe it’s because they don’t know the full extent of it that they can be so accepting of it. After all, what they don’t know won’t shock them.’
“Why so deep in thought?”
A voice echoed out causing Li Shen to snap out of his thoughts.
Looking up, he saw Ye Fei sitting around a table in an open courtyard with a simple house nearby.
The place looked quite different from how Li Shen remembered it being. For one, he didn’t have that nagging feeling that something didn’t seem right like the last time.
This just goes to show that Ye Fei’s ability with Illusions had become exceptional to the point even he with an affinity for laws can’t sense it.
Li Shen smiled and responded.
“I was just thinking about the meaning of life.”
Hearing his response, Ye Fei was taken aback for a moment. Though he soon chuckled and said.
“So, have you found it?”
He was being indulgent with Li Shen’s jokes.
Taking a seat Li Shen said.
“I have, just now while coming up this mountain.”
“Oh? Does disciple Shen mind sharing what the answer is?”
Ye Fei poured tea for them both before he took up his own teacup to take a sip.
Li Shen was silent as he stared at the slowly calming ripples in his teacup for a moment before saying.
“Names.”
Raising a brow, Ye Fei’s tone was questioning as he repeated the word.
“Names?”
“Hm, Names. The meaning of life is connected with the symbolism of our names. It lives with us and it dies with us. Some will be remembered while some will be forgotten.”
Li Shen’s words pique Ye Fei’s interest and he couldn’t help but ask.
“Could disciple Shen elaborate further?”
Taking a sip from his tea, Li Shen nodded and then said.
“Our names will be attached to the lives we live. When we’re alive, our names will be synonymous with the accumulated decisions we make which dictates our faith and karma.”
Ye Fei's thoughts raced, and in a split second he said.
“So you’re saying that the meaning of life is leaving behind a good name by making the right decisions before death? Honestly, I’m quite surprised. This way of thinking is what scholars of the past would admi-”
Ye Fei was suddenly cut off by Li Shen raising his hand.
After taking his second sip, he shook his head and said.
“Vice Headmaster misunderstands, that isn’t what I was trying to say.”
Ye Fei blinked.
“That isn't what you were trying to say?”
Ye Fei reiterated in a confused tone. Did he miss something in Li Shen’s words? He was proud of his intelligence to comprehend the most obscure of things, so this was a huge blow to him.
“No, it's not.”
Li Shen paused to take a third sip, to which had Ye Fei itching with anticipation while waiting for him to speak.
Placing down the teacup, Li Shen explained.
“What I meant was that one should have a good name, period.”
“Excuse me?”
Ye Fei was even more baffled by those words
“Yes, hmhm…”
Li Shen said while nodding with closed eyes.
He soon cracked one open and said with his fan raised in his hand.
“The meaning of life is to have a good name. Without a good name, one could be forced to be remembered by some ridiculous-sounding ones. Like can you imagine people remembering you as Fei Fei? Tsk Tsk, now that would be embarrassing.”
Hearing that, Ye Fei, who was hanging onto every one of Li Shen's words, had his expression go stiff, and all the curiosity he had evaporated to be replaced with anger.
“You vicious little brat!”
A big grin formed on Li Shen's face before he burst into a corus of belly laughter. Between his laughter that almost brought him to the floor, he manage to say.
“I think it’s what you deserve for going back on our agreement in the hall, don’t you think Vice Headmaster? Haha.”
