Yang Su saw that Xi Shen’s projection was staring in the sky above them, but when he looked up he couldn't see or sensed anyone there.

However, his face still turned solemn since if Xi Shen said someone was there then that meant someone who could hide from his partially formed Sea Expansion Soul Sense was up there.

Thoughts about a cultivator more powerful than the three before appeared in Yang Su’s mind, but nothing could have prepared him for what he was about to see.

With the sky overhead, the void suddenly distorted and twisted, before a middle-aged man in black robes without a mask appeared in the air.

Xi Shen felt cold chills went down his back when he looked at where the man's feet had nothing beneath them for support.

‘The ability of flight?! I read in the first floor of the Techniques Library that only cultivators in the 9th level of the Foundation Realm and above could achieve that without a Spirit Artifact!’

However, Yang Su suddenly looked at the man's feet again, this time a bit closer, and the shock in his heart increased. He even took a slight step back in horror.

The man wasn’t floating in mid-air, he was standing in mid-air!

This was in the realm of manipulating Spatial Laws, meaning this man was at least a Nascent Soul cultivator!

Xi Shen had also read about Divine Projections that they only have a fraction of the owner’s power. He didn’t know how powerful Xi Shen was, but it didn’t seem plausible that a Nascent Soul projection could defeat a real Nascent Soul Realm cultivator in battle.

But Yang Su turned to look at his elder brother’s projection and saw that he had placed his translucent hands behind his back and while floating several feet off the ground, he gave off a rather nonchalant feeling in the process.

Seeing this, Yang Su admonish himself for taking a step back. That would mean he had no faith in his elder brother protecting him at this moment.

It was that he was just overwhelmed by the fact someone with such a high cultivation base was targeting him, wait? Is he though?

As soon as the middle-aged man appeared, Xi Shen’s distorted voice asked, “Who sent you people here to kill him?”

The middle-aged man stared down at Xi Shen’s Divine Projection with indifference, before he said, “What does it matter? Even though I had never expected an esteemed elder of the Li Clan to find the time to leave a Divine Imprint to protect this child, it won’t make a difference anyway. You're far too weak with just your current self.”

Upon saying that, the middle-aged man simply pointed a finger in Yang Su’s direction, and the latter suddenly felt like some form of supernatural power had locked onto him.

The space around Yang Su then became chaotic and was on the verge of collapsing.

If this were to happen, Yang Su’s entire body along with his soul would be torn apart by the chaotic Space Laws, leaving nothing of him, not even a drop of blood or a scrap of clothes.

However, before anything horrific like that could happen, Xi Shen simply waved his hands, and the fragmented space around Yang Su stop collapsing before it reconstructed itself and became stable once more.

Yang Su who was out of danger, couldn’t help but feel frightened at how easily this person could have killed him if Xi Shen wasn’t here. Now, thoughts of him reaching such cultivation heights began to plague his mind.

The middle-aged man in the sky on the other hand frowned at his attack being nullified so easily.

That attack looked simple, but that was a high-level skill of manipulation of Spatial Laws that only someone with a high comprehension could accomplish. But this person had easily dealt with it with only a casual wave of his hand.

With narrowed eyes, the middle-aged looked at this featureless Divine Projection with seriousness for the first time, as he was starting to realize something wrong.

“You. Who are you within the Li Royal Family? For your Divine Projection to have this much power, you either have a high cultivation base within the Nascent Soul realm or you sacrificed a significant portion of your Divine Soul and cultivation to create this Projection. And your manipulation of Spatial Laws, only a few elders in the Li Family chose to comprehend it, which elder are you?”

As the man asked those questions, Xi Shen only responded with, “Instead of answering my question, you instead barrage me with questions of your own? I already know who sent you anyway, so just die.”

Xi Shen’s voice that was filled with murderous intent echoed out as he pulled his right hand from behind his back and reached for the middle-aged man in the sky while spreading his five fingers apart.

A sneer appeared on the middle-aged man’s face, and he was just about to laugh in mockery, but his expression suddenly changed as he felt the space surrounding him begin to twist and distort.

Sensing the laws which had completely surrounded him, his face drained of blood before he shot a horrified look in Xi Shen’s direction.

He then cried out in alarm, “Y-you, you aren’t manipulating Spatial Laws, this is Time Law manipulation. Who are you?! No one in the Li Clan has comprehended the Laws f Time, that’s completely impossible!!”

As the man spoke, his face went from shock, to utter rage with veins bulging from his neck and his eyes completely bloodshot.

“If you think your original body would be safe just because you sent a clone here, then that’s laughable.”

When the middle age man heard that, he stared at Xi Shen with even more disbelief.

However, his brain had only just processed his words when the Time Laws surrounding him suddenly began to tremble before his entire body began to decay rapidly. In the blink of an eye, a Nascent Soul cultivator became nothing more than skeletal bones with pieces of dregs covering its body as it fell out of the sky.

Deep within the Ancestral Tomb of the Ming Clan, a coffin that was located on an altar with four more there, suddenly burst apart, as a mummy-like figure came out of the coffin and brought with it a foul stench.

This person who looked like he was on the verge of death suddenly had his body rapidly decaying even more, as Time Laws sprang out of the void to surround his decrepit body.

Seeing this, the mummy-like figure let out an enraged cry that had the entire Ming Clan shaking uncontrollably. Every Ming Clan member became completely shocked at their clan shaking all of a sudden.

Back at the forest, Xi Shen’s projection turned to Yang Su, and said, this time in a normal voice, “Return to the Celestial Academy for now, I’ll be there shortly.”

Yang Su was slightly sad when he heard that since he was on his way to meet his family, but he still heeded Xi Shen’s command and immediately returned to the Celestial Academy.

As Xi Shen’s Divine Projection faded away, the wooden slip fell to the ground into two pieces.

However, before he left, Xi Shen had waved his hands at the surroundings, and the aftermath of his attack began repairing itself as he used the wood element to replace the trees destroyed.

After erasing the evidence of the remnant laws, was then that Xi Shen dissipated his projection fully.

Back in the Imperial Palace, Xi Shen opened his eyes but instead of his usual lackluster golden pupils, what was shown were two completely bright golden orbs.

Several streaks of golden hair had also appeared in his once light brown hair as well, making a lump of it resemble silk-like golden threads.

Xi Shen let out a sigh, before he closed his eyes once again, and sunk his perception into his body.

Xi Shen then examined his bones, and he couldn’t help but let out a curse in his heart.

He saw that the golden spots that were the Heavenly Physique, had started to take up more of his skeletal frame. This also includes his blood as well, more of it had turned gold in color.

After assessing the damage, Xi Shen concluded that his Heavenly Physique now occupied around fifty-five to sixty percent of his entire body, leaving the Spiritual Physique to only occupy about forty-five to forty percent.

“Goddammit! I got carried away and used too much of my Heavenly Law comprehension. And it was the Time Laws I barely grasped at that, now look what had happened?” said Xi Shen bemoaningly.

“When I had discovered that Nascent Soul Realm clone, I should have taken Yang Su and escaped. But at the time that thought hadn’t even crossed my mind, the only thing I could think about was how that ant of person had disrespected me for trying to attack my assistant. Is this because I had created that Divine Imprint solely from my Heavenly Physique? Did it turn me into some arrogant Deity? Well, that’s not good, I don’t think I’ll ever try that again. I have to find another way to protect Yang Su until he reaches a high cultivation level where he could protect himself. If I reach a high enough level in my Qi cultivation, I could create projections with my Spiritual Physique in the mix and prevent anything like this from occurring again.”
