I opened my eyes slowly, feeling lighter than I had in months.

It felt like I was laying on a bed of clouds.

I was covered in a beautiful white quilt and laying in a king size bed with lace curtains draping the sides of the bed. The sun was shining into a room fit for a queen, with beautiful tapestries draping the walls, and a burgundy (deep red) carpet lining the floor.

Looking down, I could see beautiful curly golden hair cascading on both sides of my face, and I was wearing pink silk pajamas accentuating unblemished pale skin. I had become a girl, and an incredibly beautiful one at that!

Looking down at myself, I could see that my skin was pale without any flaws or impurities, and looking into the mirror at the corner of the room, I could instantly recognize the true identity of who I'd become.

I had become the sickly princess Roseanna, who was loved by the emperor and the empress, but who had been frail her entire life and died at just seventeen years old after being sick for her entire life.

The entire kingdom knew her tragic story.

I must have been transferred to her body at the time she was supposed to pass away, as I could recognize my face from the portraits and statues made after her death.

Suddenly, a screen with a message popped up in front of my eyes.

[You have been given the body of princess Roseanna so that you can spread joy to her family, as that was her final regret.]

[You have been chosen because of your friendly and true intentions and because of your wish for a happy family]

[Her illness has been cured but you will still show the symptoms for one more year, even though you will not feel any pain. You will also have to cough up blood to dispel the impurities of the illness quite often during the recovery.]

Hey, isn’t this a dream scenario?

Who doesn’t dream about becoming both beautiful and rich?

Still, becoming a woman is a weird sensation, but from my first impression I find that I do not hate it at all.

I feel frail and it doesn’t seem like I have much power in my limbs, but I do not feel sick or weak. I feel very comfortable in my skin, though going to the toilet and such will probably take some getting used to.

I’ve become the most beautiful girl I have ever seen and am now the princess in the biggest empire in the world, loved by the royal family, who grieved their entire lives after she passed away.

I can sleep and relax all day and eat great food and show off in amazing clothes.

This is a dream come true!

I also don’t have to worry about the painful illness of the original Roseanne! The last thing, which is also incredibly nice, is that I know that the original Roseanna wanted this. She wanted someone to be there for her family, and I can help her fulfill her final wish!

-

I sit up in the beautiful bed, admiring myself in the mirror. Beautiful blue eyes and long, curly golden hair. My skin is pale but incredibly soft and without blemishes and my body is elegant with perfect aristocratic curves and features.

I stand up from the bed, feeling a bit chilly in just my pajamas, and called out for the servants.

The door opened very quickly, and two knights and maids rushed in through the door.

“The princess is awake!”

All of them looked like they had seen a ghost and had tears in their eyes.

I looked up at them and tried to give them my most beautiful smile, but I was a bit cold, so I huddled together holding myself with my arms, probably not giving them the right impression.

They were all frozen looking at me before a maid exclaimed.

“Your majesty, are you okay?”

A knight ran out to call the doctor and the emperor, while I was guided back to bed by the two maids who had tears in their eyes while leading me with gentle hands.

I just relaxed into the sheets, until the room became bustling with people again.

-

The mighty and powerful emperor came into my room and was looking at me with wide eyes.

He walked up to the bed taking my hand.

“Roseanne,” he said while tears were gathering at the corners of his eyes.

I took his hand in mine, before sitting up again and giving him a big hug as it looked like he needed it.

“Father, I missed you,” I said with a smile.

He started crying loudly just holding me gently in his arms, like I was a fragile vase, which I probably was, just one day ago.

The empress, an incredibly beautiful woman with straight long golden hair, came rushing into the room a moment later and also gave me a warm soft hug.

It felt so wonderful that I just melted into her hug resting my head on her chest.

“Mother,” I said, and she also started crying.

After minutes of sobbing and gentle words from both the emperor and empress, (or I should probably call them mother and father now?), I felt something gathering in my throat, and before I knew it, I had thrown up blood all across my mother’s white dress.

-

Everyone became incredibly shocked, and my mother screamed and looked at me with pity in her eyes.

I started apologizing profusely, but my mother just smiled sadly, holding my hand while sitting at the edge of the bed, while my father was walking around the room.

The emperor had called for the doctor, and he came bustling through the door before long.

He looked like an old wise man, with a bald head and grey hair at his temples. He was wearing a white gown-like coat and had friendly but serious expression on his face.

He examined me, but instead of telling everyone I was healthy, he told everyone I was still incredibly sick and that I still might get much worse in the future.

Everyone looked so sad again, even though I felt like I was full of energy and knew in my heart that I wasn’t truly sick anymore because of the system.

“Mother, father, don’t worry! I’m not sick anymore!” I said with a smile on my face.

They all just looked up at me with pity in their eyes, big tears gathering at the corners of their eyes. The knights and maids also started crying and looking at me with pity.

The doctor looked very tired, and because he was an old man and was rushed here in a hurry, I took his hand.

“Doctor, you don’t have to worry about me. Think about your health first.” I said.

He was an old man, and I knew I was healthy now, so he should really get some rest instead.

.

The entire room was stunned. Who knew the princess had such a big heart? After hearing she was so sick, she still comforted the doctor and cared about him.

The doctor who hadn’t cried until now, started crying, feeling deeply moved by the princess.

I saw and felt that everyone misunderstood what I was saying.

I got up from bed, feeling a bit cold in the morning chill, and went over to my mother to hug her, as she seemed so distraught and sad.

I said again.

“Mom, I love you, don’t worry, I’ll never leave you okay!” with a smile on my face.

-

Everyone else just saw the princess with blood still on her lips, hugging her mother and comforting her.

-

The empress just started crying more and held me even deeper in her arms. She had an amazing and soft body, so I just laid down my head on her chest and lost myself in her soft curves.

After this, everyone insisted I went back to bed and when I told them I wanted to eat together with my family, everyone were just even more moved and started crying more.

I meant I wanted to eat in the dining room where they usually ate, but they ended up starting to set up a table in my room planning on eating breakfast here instead.
