Chapter 6

XXXXXXXXXXX

Jon swung another saber, not trusting magic.

At least not that much.

In Jinqui and Asabhad it was different than in Tiqui.

The reason.

It was limited.

Jon saw himself in the early days of the attack at a huge disadvantage.

Jinqui and Asabhad were cities of strong soldiers, but with terrible defenses.

The walls barely held.

The doors were wooden.

The citizens hated the nobles.

But Tiqui was different.

The emperor lived here.

The citizens were almost all nobles.

Few commoners.

The slaves were much more submissive than in any other city.

For a week Jon established his control over his surroundings.

But the walls did not give way.

His mana was rapidly depleting.

And the worst were the watchtowers on the walls.

His archers possessed extraordinary marksmanship.

They always hit.

What was worse, they used incendiary arrows that took several men at once.

Their siege engines were normal catapults, hitting a few towers, before falling, but not enough.

The stone doors were hard.

He couldn't penetrate it even with his explosions created by fireballs.

He needed to improve his defense.

Once the gate falls the city will fall.

But besieging the city was not easy.

Not with such effective watchtowers.

Jon admired them up to a point.

But this was it.

He took the city, and Yiti's empire would fall with it.

Jon swung a sword at the approaching soldier.

They were also pretty.

Not like his mercenaries.

But enough to cause him a lot of trouble.

Jon sighed.

He had to go and he knew it.

Fireball - he whispered.

He sent his attack.

No matter how much mana he spent now, they couldn't do anything else today.

The sphere of incandescent fire hit an enemy squad and exploded.

Leaving a dozen charred bodies.

He killed another soldier, who was approaching and saw how from the city gates more and more came out.

He turned to the mercenary accompanying him.

"This battle is lost," he told her.

This nod.

"We're backing out for the time being," Jon finished.

Sansa panted heavily as she bit her lips.

In the main tent, where she and her husband slept, the girl could do nothing but calm Jon's frustrations in the only way she knew how.

Jon on top of her penetrating her again. He made the girl cry out.

The battle dragged on, a week had passed since they began their attack.

But the city stood strong.

Sansa knew that beforehand.

He had healed more than a dozen soldiers.

But her husband arrived totally frustrated, he found her healing a couple of soldiers and he gave orders to fortify the defenses, during the night they would rest and that would make enemies try to attack them.

After the meal the girl sat on his knee and kissed.

It was one of the most effective ways she had found to please her husband, Jon had a soft spot for her when she sat on his knee for whatever reason.

The girl didn't know which one.

But I take advantage of the situation to calm her husband.

Her healing magic could do little about her frustrations.

His body on the other hand.

It was very effective.

Jon let out a gasp when he finished and fell on top of her.

Sansa hugged him with her naked body delivering a couple of kisses with the purpose of calming her husband.

I succeed perfectly.

This one was more relaxed at least.

I could focus now.

Come up with a plan.

Destroy the damn gates and take the city.

And then another.

And another.

Until there are none left, until we reach the north of Westeros.

Jon watched as the men organized themselves.

It required more men.

He sent for allies from the conquered cities.

Warrior slaves, who were offered freedom after battle.

Mercenary soldiers who were hired from around Yiti.

Nobles from lower houses of the cities that were conquered with soldiers who came to win the appreciation of their new leader.

Jon didn't trust them, but he wasn't going to complain.

The only way to take the city was to destroy the gates.

And the best way was with a coordinated attack.

His catapults were destroyed.

He had a rock launcher that he had brought from Assai, but it wasn't enough.

They needed a totally strong attack.

For that they needed a distraction for the towers.

I must sacrifice men - he thought.

No war was free.

No war could be won without great sacrifice.

It didn't matter how strong the enemy was.

Sooner or later a deadly decision would be made for the soldiers.

That was war.

Jon watched carefully as the soldiers organized themselves into several platoons.

They were divided into squads, attack, defense and medical.

Even so.

-I need something powerful to destroy those damn doors- he mused.

Hermione Granger entered the store.

He saw his king sitting on a wooden chair, in front of a table with a dozen papers on it.

Jon watched her arrive in surprise.

"My lord," she greeted.

Jon kept looking at her.

"What are you doing here?" he asked.

She looked at him.

-Go through the cities, to impose the laws of Assai, and I bring a gift- she said.

Jon watched as he pulled out a sphere.

It was made of glass, it seemed that inside it had a red liquid.

"And that's it?" Jon asked.

"A gift from Ron's brothers, George and Fred, some of the best pranksters in all of Assai," she pointed out.

Jon blinked.

"It's a magic bomb," she told him.

Jon looked at her strangely.

"It's an explosive device, normally George and Fred use them as a distraction, this one is upgraded, it could destroy a part of the wall, maybe the gates, but it must be placed on it to do it," she said.

Jon looked at him with appreciation.

"How does it work?" he asked.

She looked at him.

-Simple, you throw it where you want it to explode and run away to the other side- she informed.

Jon smiled.

"Are you staying to sleep?" He asked.

Sansa looked at a wounded soldier, she healed his wound.

The battlefield was a mess, but she wanted to help out here.

Two weeks have passed since Hermione Granger came to deliver the explosive to Jon.

Now everything was prepared according to her husband.

The girl saw some men come towards her, but they were quickly eliminated by the Assai wizards protecting her.

The girl kept healing people, it was the only thing she could do at the moment. It was a second after healing the last soldier that she felt a bright light in her eyes and came to the room where the ability is raised.

He went to the computer.

Jon attacked another soldier, he had leveled up in battle, reaching level 5 with 2 skill points.

Jon was simply following the plan.

He showed himself against the Yitians.

These attacked.

Taking care of the towers.

But he was at a safe distance so the dates don't hit him.

Fireball - he murmured.

The sphere of fire went straight to the squad that was coming for him.

The explosion only left bodies lying and burned.

Yiti's sand was mixed with ashes from the corpses.

Beside him the mercenaries were also attacking.

Squads split up.

Mid-range mercenaries used bows and arrows or some crossbows.

The close quarters had swords, scimitars, and spears.

They kept the Yitians at bay.

For now.

They also followed the plan.

Jon knew it was close.

He had given his orders.

The previously summoned eagles would attack from time to time, in the sight of one of the enemy soldiers.

They would conquer the city that day.

The plan would work.

I was sure.

He had Hermione to thank.

To the Weasley Twins, Fred and George.

And Harry Potter who was conquering southeastern Essos with just a small group of wizards.

Jon looked back to see a platoon of his own approaching.

There were about a hundred men all going in single file with large shields covering them.

"It's time," he whispered.

Men ran with their shields attached, parrying arrows from the towers.

The Yitians seemed to understand that there was a plan and tried to intervene.

But Jon previously gave the order to attack both sides, and his men held off the enemies by leaving a straight line for the new squad to pass through.

The towers fired as many arrows as they could, but it was useless against the strong metal shields they possessed.

They reached the gates in a few minutes.

Jon gave a prayer and a second later an explosion was heard.

KABON

He was older than he thought.

The mercenaries died in a second after the explosive device went off.

The doors took the blast, cracking apart in seconds.

The hard stones, became fragments.

Even the wall received a heavy blow.

Silence reigned on the battlefield.

Both enemies and allies.

Jon pointed his sword at the door.

"Take the city!" he exclaimed.

A battle cry was heard and thousands of soldiers rushed towards the city.
