Su Han blinked. “It is kind of strange when you put it that way!”
“You found it strange as well?” Lu Jia’er looked at Su Han.
Su Han continued. “You worked in the same development team as Jason. It isn’t right that you don’t know Ace.”
Lu Jia’er looked away from Su Han and contemplated it. Su Han posed another question. “Are you remembering something or forgetting something?”
Lu Jia’er shook her head and said in a low mood, “I am not remembering something but I think something did slip my memory!”
“Is it because of the car accident?” Su Han asked.
“Perhaps!” Lu Jia’er was not certain now.
“Though it was a small accident, you have been too careless. You wouldn’t have a good rest even though I have told you so!” Su Han began to chatter on and on.
Noticing Su Han’s worry, Lu Jia’er said words of comfort. “I am fine!”
Su Han was not relieved. “Tomorrow, I will go to the doctor’s with you to have you checked again!”
Lu Jia’er looked at her and nodded. “Sure!”
The next day, Su Han accompanied Su Han to the doctor’s for an examination.
The doctor examined the CT scan of her brain and stated, “Nothing is wrong based on the result!”
“Nothing is wrong?” Lu Jia’er was staring at the CT scan as well.
“Based on the CT scan, there is no compression on the cerebral tissues or brain injury!” The doctor claimed.
“But doctor, I have the feeling that I am forgetting something, missing something.” Lu Jia’er asked.
The doctor gazed at Lu Jia’er. “It is possible that due to the car accident, while physically, you are safe and sound, but psychologically, there is a wrong perception. Subconsciously, you think you have forgotten about something. It can happen!”
“That car accident had no effect on my mind!” Lu Jia’er replied.
“This perception may not be accurate. I suggest you consult a psychologist. Maybe that will help you out,” the doctor said.
“I am a Professor in psychology. I am sure that the car accident has no effect on my mind!” Lu Jia’er stood by her statement.
The doctor looked at Lu Jia’er and smiled. “The mental state of a professor in psychology is not necessarily healthy!”
Su Han retorted at once, “Doctor, watch your language!”
Lu Jia’er put her arm around Su Han and said to the doctor. “Yes, you are right. Thank you for your suggestion. I will consult a psychologist!”
The doctor smiled at Lu Jia’er. “Feel better soon!”
Lu Jia’er and Su Han left the clinic. The former mumbled. “When did you develop such a good temper?”
Lu Jia’er replied. “My temper is not getting better. But that doctor is telling the truth. Professor Han once said that psychologists usually have more stable psychological endurance. For this exact reason, psychologists are easier to develop psychological illness because psychologists would witness many dark sides due to their occupation. Once psychologists fall victim to psychological illness, the situation will be grave.”
“I once read that many masters in psychology suffer from mental disease. Now I know that this is true!” Su Han replied.
“I am far from being a master,” Lu Jia’er replied.
“You are outstanding as it is. You are the youngest psychology professor in the country. It is only a matter of time before you become a master given your talents!” Su Han gave her a compliment.
But Lu Jia’er deliberately misinterpreted Su Han’s compliment. “Are you indicating that it is only a matter of time before I become a psychopath?”
Su Han denied it at once. “That is not what I am saying. But I do feel you are being overly sensitive recently!”
Sensitive! Lu Jia’er did not think of herself as sensitive. However, Su Han had used this word to describe her many times after her encounter with Jin Xiangdong.
Everything was because of Jin Xiangdong but he had told her to get answers from Ian.
What could Ian tell her? Was there really something wrong with her memory, or with her mental state?
“Maybe!” Lu Jia’er said, without emotion.
“That doctor suggests you consult a psychologist. Don’t you forget about it! Just to be safe!” Su Han reminded her.
Lu Jia’er nodded. “Of course!”

Eventually, Lu Jia’er decided to turn to Professor Han Yi for psychological counseling. For one thing, she trusted him completely. For another, Professor Han’s professional work was flawless.
As a matter of fact, a couple of days ago, Professor Han Yi contacted her about the project between BUA and B University but Lu Jia’er excused herself from the project.
Lu Jia’er bought a basket of fruit to pay a visit to Professor Han Yi. Professor Han and his wife were glad to see her.
“Jia’er, come on in and have a seat!” Li Mei, a professor in history and Professor Han Yi’s wife, greeted Lu Jia’er with hospitality.
Lu Jia’er took a seat and Professor Li Mei poured her some juice.
“Thank you, Ms. Li!” Lu Jia’er said.
“I like it when you call me Ms. Li!” Professor Li Mei said with a smile.
Professor Han Yi, who was sitting on the side, was wearing a smile as well. Lu Jia’er was his student and now his colleague, and he had always had a high opinion of Lu Jia’er. Inevitably, there had been some slanderous gossip. However, as his wife, Li Mei had never thought there was anything romantic between Lu Jia’er and him. In fact, Li Mei had always believed Han Yi had a good eye. As it turned out, Professor Han Yi had made good decisions. Lu Jia’er was indeed a rare and unusual talent in psychology.
The school semester was about to begin. Lu Jia’er would not have paid a special visit here if not for business. Professor Han Yi asked. “Jia’er, is there anything I can do?”
“Professor, I do have something to bother you of!” Lu Jia’er came straight to the point.
“Oh, what is it?” Professor Han Yi asked with a smile.
“I want you to make a definite diagnosis of me!” Lu Jia’er said.
“A definite diagnosis?” Professor Han Yi looked at Lu Jia’er with confusion.
“Half a month ago, I was in a small car accident. The doctor’s diagnosis is that physically, I am fine but the doctor suggests that I consult a psychologist. I am here to ask you to help me on that front.” Lu Jia’er said.
“Car accident? Jia’er, why didn’t you tell us?” Professor Han Yi was worried that Lu Jia’er was in a car accident.
“I am fine. Yesterday, I got another CT scan on my brain to make sure that physically, I am safe and sound!” Lu Jia’er replied.
“Alas, you always keep it to yourself. Why wouldn’t you tell us when you were in an accident?” Professor Han Yi scolded her.
Professor Li Mei knew that Professor Han Yi cared about Lu Jia’er. As his wife, she was not jealous at all. But it was true that this favorite student of his was unsocial. Maybe, that was a common thing among the rare talents!
“Jia’er, what did the doctor say?” Professor Li Mei asked.
“I said that the car accident did not have any effect on my mind. But the doctor said I should make sure, just to be safe!” Lu Jia’er said.
“Does it mean that you might have some professor psychological problems induced by the car accident?” Professor Han Yi asked.
“That is about it!” Lu Jia’er replied.
“The fact that you have come to me implies that you still value me as your professor!” Professor Han Yi answered.
Lu Jia’er smiled. “Then, I will thank you in advance!”
Next, Professor Han Yi asked Lu Jia’er to fill out the Scl-90 and LEF measurement tables. The results indicated that everything was fine.
Then, a memory test was performed. Both the short-term memory and long-term memory turned out to be fine.
Professor Han Yi held the test results and said to Lu Jia’er. “Everything is okay!”
Lu Jia’er looked at Professor Han Yi. “Is it possible that subconsciously, I was avoiding the wrong answers since I am familiar with psychology?”
“That is a possibility. But when you were answering the questions and telling your experience, did you hide anything subconsciously?” Han Yi asked.
Lu Jia’er shook her head. “No. I was very relaxed! I tried my best to answer the questions based on instinct and I told everything that I remember in the memory test!”
“If that is the case, then there is nothing wrong.” Professor Han Yi said.
“I think so myself!” Lu Jia’er agreed.
On hearing this, some idea seemed to have spring to Professor Han Yi’s mind. He got his laptop and played a video.
It was a video of a beautiful road movie. The view alongside the road was nice. On a car, the hero and heroine looked into each other’s eyes, smiling a smile of happiness. Their car overtook one car after another. All of a sudden, there came a car up front that had logs loaded up. Abruptly, the belts strapped over the logs broke and the logs fell to the road. That happy couple’s car bumped into the logs which pierced into the glass. The next second, blood was spilled all over the place. The cars behind them crashed one after one. It was too horrible to look at.
As Lu Jia’er watched this video, Professor Han Yi had been staring at her, trying to capture changes in her expressions and manners.
But after Lu Jia’er finished this video, she did not feel intense terror. Generally speaking, she remained calm. Her heart did skip a beat when the logs smashed into the couple’s car. After all, this movie should be classified as a horror film.
Professor Han Yi asked in a gentle voice. “How do you feel?”
“I was shocked when the logs fell!” Lu Jia’er answered, calmly.
Professor Han Yi nodded. “That is a normal reaction. But since you were not terrified or in a panic when you saw this, your mind should not be affected by the car accident!”
Lu Jia’er nodded. Then, she said with a smile, “Professor, it is kind of risky to show me this. If I were a timid person, that would leave a shadow in my life!”
