Angel was a song well-known for being easy to play.
I’d once heard news that the number of applicants to the light music clubs of junior high schools and universities across the country increased five to six times due to Personia, and at that time, every beginner guitarist was practicing this song.
I have to play this sloppily so they don’t find out who I am… Lazily…
I picked up my guitar and looked at the girls as I thought that.
All three of them were looking at me with eyes full of excitement and joy.
Seeing them like that, I started having second thoughts―
Is this really okay?
Playing lazily just because I don’t want them to find out my true identity?
Even though they’re eager to hear me play?
―Absolutely not.
I lightly strummed the body of my guitar to get into the rhythm, then I put my fingers on the strings to play Angel.
This song, as it turns out, was written out of my love for my sister, Akane.
“It’s a song about the joy, curiosity, a bit of jealousy, and mischief that comes up when you’re in front of someone who’s incredibly beautiful,” someone theorized on a music show.
I guess they weren’t too far off the mark.
Akane is truly a pure and untainted angel, after all…

…In the end, I sang the song from start to finish with all my soul.
After all, this was a song for Akane, so obviously there was no way I was going to skimp on it.
However, I didn’t tell Akane how this song came to be, because it would have creeped her out…
I used a voice completely different from Shion’s, and I used the arrangement in my favor to try and cover it up.
This way, they shouldn’t be able to connect me to Shion.
―When I finished playing, the three girls’ eyes started tearing up.
