Airi Tanaka was a bit confused as to how the current situation came to be.
Her brother had pulled her classmate into the bathroom to take a bath with him, while Akari was keeping her busy in the kitchen.
It almost seemed like a strategic plan that was made in order to separate the two and interrogate them.
"How long did it take you guys to make this plan?" Airi asked.
"Hmm, about a few minutes?" Akari shrugged. "Takei was really enthusiastic about meeting your friend so he thought of a dozen different ways to approach the situation."
Airi gasped in shock. "He prepared for that many different scenarios?!"
Should I be worried about how overprotective my brother is? Like, shouldn't he be worrying about his girlfriend instead of me? The beautiful blond girl right next to me should be your main priority, you idiot brother!
Unbeknownst to Akari, Airi was going off on a tangent inside her own head.
"Putting aside your brother's overprotectiveness, he really does cherish you," Akari explained. "That's why he wants to make sure that you're in safe hands."
Akari gently explained it in a way that Airi could perfectly understand.
She knew that Takei's overprotectiveness was a result of his heavy love for his family and friends, which is why Airi couldn't say anything back to him.
Airi may have felt a little annoyed from Takei pestering her and Mahiro, but she felt thankful more than anything. "Yeah, he's a good brother. I wouldn't have anyone else as a brother than him."
When Akari heard Airi's true feelings, she giggled and warmly smiled at Airi. "Is that so? I'm sure he would be really happy to hear that."
"Ahaha, please don't tell Takei. That would be very embarrassing," Airi laughed.
"Don't tell me what?" A voice came from the living room.
"Eek!" Airi shouted.
Both of the girls were way too focused on their conversation to have noticed that the boys were back from their bath.
"Well, what are you hiding from me?" Takei mischievously laughed.
"N-Nothing! Food's about to be done so go and sit down already!" Airi stammered.
"I'll leave it at that, I guess." Takei shrugged, as he did as instructed.
Airi was quite scared to see what Takei had done to Mahiro, but her fears were luckily unfounded.
"If you're worrying about me, I'm fine. I just had a heart-to-heart with your brother," Mahiro clarified. "He's a good person, you're lucky to have him as a brother."
"Thank goodness..." Airi sighed.
No one had ever told her before that she should be lucky to have Takei as her brother.
Looking back on it, Airi realized how blessed she had been to be born alongside such a kind person.
She could've been born with a brother who didn't care about her at all, but she was born with a kind brother who would give the world up for her.
If that isn't love, then I don't know what is.
I know I'm too embarrassed to say it right now, but thank you for everything. Takei, you are the best brother a sister could ever ask for.
A smile began to form on Airi's face, which confused Mahiro.
"Did something good happen?" He asked.

"I guess so," Airi giggled.
All four of them sat down at the dinner table when all the food was finished cooking, and prepared to eat a luxurious dinner.
Everyone dug into the food and began to eat with happy smiles on their faces.
There was a peaceful and tranquil silence, until Akari decided to have some fun with this pseudo-couple. "Just wondering, but how did you two meet? Was it a destined meeting? A knight saving the princess? A hero defeating the demon lord? What event caused you two to get along?"
Agh, Akari... Et tu?!
"Ahaha, we met through some similar classes and clubs that we helped in," Airi tried to explain as simply as possible.
Takei didn't quite seem satisfied by that answer, so he turned towards Mahiro with a devilish expression on his face. "Hoh? How did you fall in love with her then?"
"Pufoo!" Mahiro choked on his food.
Airi brought a napkin to his mouth and began dabbing on it. "Are you okay?"
"Y-Yeah, I'm fine. I just was a bit surprised," Mahiro stuttered.
"If you're okay now, what's the answer to my question then? I'm quite interested to see how you fell in love with my sister," Takei asked.
Mahiro looked down for a moment, as if gathering his thoughts, and looked towards Takei with a refreshed expression.
"It wasn't a love at first sight type of situation. Rather, I slowly yet gradually became attracted to her. Airi's way of life where she would never give up and keep on pushing forward is what made me fall for her," Mahiro proudly stated. "I saw her give her best everyday, which made me also want to give my best. Slowly yet surely, my admiration turned into attraction and the rest is history."
"Woah..." Akari gulped. "That's pretty... heavy."
"Right?" Takei nodded.
For some reason, Mahiro had gone all-in with his answer, which left everyone else speechless in the presence of his heavy love.
Even the idiot couple weren't able to defend themselves from the sheer power of Mahiro's love.
They weren't the only casualty, however.
"W-Wha..."
The person that Mahiro was talking about, Airi, was completely bright red like a tomato and stuttering like crazy.
By the looks of it, Mahiro's attack had a 2x multiplier applied to the person known as Airi Tanaka.
In response to his heavy love confession, the only thing she could say was...
"You idiot!!!"
