In a world where superpowers are commonplace and the hierarchy of heroes and villains have been established for a long time, there is but one boy that has the power to stand above all.
"Man, this blows. I just wanted to go home and take a nap, but I had to stay for those remedial lessons..."
Takei Tanaka was on his way home from school and was mumbling to himself about wanting to take a nap.
His grades in school weren't the best because of his lack of effort put into studying, but it wasn't like he was dumb or anything.
Takei just didn't feel like trying in school since he felt like it was a waste.
"Whatever, I'll just go home and sleep without any more complaining."
Once he decided on that course of action, Takei focused on getting home as fast as possible.
However, there was an external factor that he hadn't accounted for.
*KABOOM*
A large explosion went off in the building that was walking past, which resulted in Takei being knocked to his feet.
"What's going on?!" Takei yelled to the civilians that were running away.
"There's a battle between a superhero and a supervillain! They're both A-rank and extremely strong, so please run away!"
The superhero society had a ranking system for identifying the strength level of superheroes and supervillains.
In simple terms without going into depth about the specifics of each rank, F-rank is the weakest and S-rank is the strongest.
A battle between two A-ranks may not be as dangerous as a battle between two S-ranks, but it was still something that was beyond the scope of what the police could handle.
"Might as well check it out then," Takei shrugged as he walked towards the battleground.
It was easy to find the battleground due to all the rubble and destruction that was everywhere, so Takei managed to reach the center of the battle in a relatively short amount of time.
"I won't let you kill these citizens!"
Takei heard a loud feminine voice echo throughout the war torn battlefield.
He turned his head to look at where the voice came from, only to find out that it was a superhero that he had seen many times already.
The superhero's code name was Iraka, and she was someone he knew very well.
Akari Akazawa was her real name and she was Takei's childhood friend that he had known for almost a decade.
She was a peerless blonde beauty that defied all logic when it came to appearances, but he knew her as a clumsy but righteous girl who tries her best to do the right thing.
Iraka is literally just her first name backwards, which is really stupid. I told her it was a dumb superhero name, but she didn't believe me.
Akari's superpower was to turn her body elastic so that she could stretch as much and as far as she wanted. Her ability is called [Elasticity] and is labeled as a C-rank ability.
She had only been a superhero for two years, but she had moved all the way up to A-rank in those short two years.
"Just let me wreak havoc as I please, you wretched insect!" The villain roared in response to Akari's plea.
Omnitus was the villain's name and he was absolutely no joke to fight against.
His power was to create stone golems at will, and each stone golem was about the level of a B-rank hero/villain. The ability is called [Golem Creation] and is listed as an A-rank ability.
Due to the sheer amount of golems he could spawn at worst, Omnitus was put into A-rank for being a tough opponent.
Even worse, he was a bit unhinged and liked to kill people just for the fun of it.
"Bahahaha, you're slowly slipping! It'll just be a matter of time before you fall victim to my golems," Omnitus sneered.
"Guh..." Akari clenched her teeth as she repeatedly destroyed the golems while they endlessly respawned.
Akari is doing a good job defeating the golems, but she's burning a lot of her stamina up. There's no conceivable future where she can protect the citizens and also defeat Omnitus by herself.
Just like Takei had predicted, Akari was struggling to protect the citizens and defeat the golems at the same time.
"Sh*t, what do I do..." Takei contemplated joining the battle. "I really don't want to get involved in the fight and show off my ability, but Akari is in trouble..."

Takei wasn't sure if it was okay to reveal his ability here and now when he had been trying to hide it so desperately for so long, but he couldn't hold back anymore when he saw Akari getting beat up by the golems.
He began to walk forward towards the battlefield with an indomitable resolve. "Oi, Omnitus. Over here!"
Takei waved his hands to try and get the villain's attention which ended up working.
"T-Takei...?" Akari stared at him wide-eyed as a rush of golems ran at him. "Wait, run!"
Takei had lied to everyone all throughout his life about the power he had.
He told everyone that he was powerless, which resulted in a lot of bullying, but it kept his secret safe.
He even told Akari that he was powerless, which ended up being the main reason why she wanted to become a hero.
Akari wanted to become a hero to protect her first love, Takei.
"It's okay." Takei calmly said such words to a frantic Akari who was in the midst of battling a horde of golems.
The rush of golems ran towards Takei with every intention to kill, but they were stopped in their tracks right before they could do anything to Takei.
"{STOP}"
As soon as that word was uttered, all of the golems immediately stopped in place.
"W-What?!" Akari yelled, wide-eyed.
"What is the meaning of this?!" Omnitus roared in anger. "Why are my golems listening to you?! Next wave, go!"
When the next wave moved to attack Takei, they also ended up meeting the same fate as their brethren.
"{DIE}"
This time, however, they were reduced to ashes when Takei spoke.
Seeing his golems get turned into ash, Omnitus screamed in rage. "No no no! This isn't how it's supposed to go!"
"Ugh, this guy is so annoying," Takei rolled his eyes. "{SILENCE} {RESTRICT}"
Since he was getting annoyed by Omnitus' chatter, Takei forced him to shut his mouth. As an added bonus, he sealed Omnitus' power.
"There you go, nice and easy..." Akari said as she placed ability-dampening handcuffs around Ominitus' wrists.
"!" Omnitus was unable to say anything due to Takei's command.
Now that the villain was captured and the town was safe, Takei decided to slip out during the chaos so that no one would discover that it was him who defeated the villain.
"Where do you think you're going?" A menacing voice asked him.
Takei cautiously turned around and saw the visage of a devil smiling at him. "Akar- Iraka, I can explain!"
"You're going to have to explain EVERYTHING to me, okay?"
"O-Okay..."
Unfortunately for him, poor Takei did not end up getting the nap that he had so passionately wished for.
