"Takei isn't answering his phone...?"
Akari had been trying to call Takei all morning, but he wasn't picking up any of her calls. Since it was the weekend, he was probably sleeping in a bit more, but it was odd that he slept through all of her calls.
This wasn't something that Takei typically did, rather he would try his best to answer them as fast as possible. On many occasions, it ended up resulting in him answering the calls in 0.01 seconds.
Thinking that this was weird, Akari went over to Takei's house and discovered a mess in the kitchen. She found Takei's phone on the floor with a cracked screen.
The phone was still on and the thing on the screen was Akari's contact information. It seemed that Takei had been trying to contact her before something happened.
Even after checking his room, Akari couldn't find any clues to Takei's whereabouts.
"Where could he be...?"
***
"Guh..."
Takei suddenly woke up and hurriedly scanned his surroundings to confirm his location. It just looked like a normal storage room, but Takei knew exactly where this place was.
"Why am I in a storage room at school?"
He tried to move and escape, but his hands and feet were tied to the chair that he was sitting on. There was a tight rope binding his movements which didn't allow him to move freely. In other words, he was trapped.
"Oh, you're finally awake!"
Takei heard the voice of his kidnapper and quickly turned to the shadow in the corner of the room. The lights were off, but he could barely make out Mitsuki's visage through the darkness.
"Why did you kidnap me?! This is literally illegal, you psycho!"
Takei screamed in disbelief at the person who drugged and kidnapped him. He didn't think that she would do it since Takei believed that she was a sensible person deep down, but it looks like he was wrong.
Mitsuki left the shadows and walked up behind Takei. "Eh? I had to? You wouldn't listen to me when I said we were married. It really hurt my heart when you said you didn't love me, y'know?"
She then wrapped her arms around Takei as he could do nothing but observe the situation. He wanted nothing more than to run away, but he couldn't as long as his hands and feet were tied.
"I said I wouldn't let you go, and I meant it."
Takei fearfully turned around and was met with Mitsuki's crazed expression. He was sure that he could see literal hearts in her eyes. The chances of survival felt like it was getting lesser and lesser by the moment.
"W-What's the chance that you let me go?"
"Zero."
"I see..."
Well, I'm doomed. Goodbye world. I'm going to be stuck as this weird yandere girl's pet forever. At the very least, I hope Airi deletes my internet history so those online searches never see the light of day.
As Takei despaired at the thought of having to spend an eternity with a weird stalker, the doors to the storage room burst open.
"!"
Takei's savior had finally arrived.
"Akari!"
Akari stood in the doorway with an incredibly pissed-off expression and an aura of displeasure surrounding her.
"Release Takei. Now."
Without mincing her words, Akari demanded Mitsuki to let go of Takei.
Thank goodness I managed to get a lead on the way here. I feel bad for that old lady who saw a girl carry an unconscious guy's body to the school though...
Nevermind that, I need to save Takei. If this follows like any other romance light novel in existence, then the yandere kidnapper girl is going to propose a challenge to me, her rival in love. Let's see what she says...
"Eh? That's boringggg. Let's play a game so we can see who's worthy of being by Takei's side!"
Mitsuki decided to suddenly propose such a challenge to Akari. It was a simple challenge between two people in love with the same person, but it had bigger implications than anything else that Akari had experienced in her life.

She knew that she shouldn't participate in these types of games, but Akari wanted to prove to Mitsuki that she was the one that deserved to stand by Takei's side. With such a direct way of rescuing Takei, Akari had no other choice but to accept the proposal.
"Okay, I'll do it."
"Great, we can start in a secon-"
"Just kidding~"
Akari approached Mitsuki and gave her a right hook that even M*ke T*son would approve of.
The force behind Akari's punch was so strong that even Takei could feel the pressure of it from a good distance away.
"Did you really think that I would accept such a stupid proposal?" Akari sighed while facepalming. "Only an idiot would've accepted that proposal."
Akari had faked her expressions and way of thinking so that Mitsuki would believe that she was willing to join the competition. Using the slight opening that she had created herself, Akari lunged forward and knocked Mitsuki out.
Mitsuki was limp on the floor and didn't reply at all when Akari pointed out the ridiculousness of that proposal. It was probably because Akari's punch was so strong that it had knocked her out.
After the enemy was dealt with, Akari went over to Takei and untied him from the ropes that were binding him.
"Sorry for taking so long. I was looking around everywhere for you and finally managed to get a lead after-"
"WAAAAH, AKARI! I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO BE TURNED INTO A PET FOREVER!"
Takei jumped into Akari's embrace and hugged her as he complained about Mitsuki's actions towards him.
"There there, it's okay. I'm here now," Akari gently said as she patted Takei's head.
The two of them then called the cops and explained the situation to them. They omitted the part where Takei got drugged due to not wanting to complicate things even further, but they told the cops that he was kidnapped nonetheless.
A couple minutes after the call finished, there was a legion of cop cars outside the school as well as an ambulance.
The cops came by and interrogated Mitsuki who ended up confessing to everything. Takei was examined by the medics and first-responders, but he refused an ambulance ride because he knew it would cost a large amount of money.
"You're really being cheap in this situation?"
"Cheapness saves lives."
After everything was said and done, Takei and Akari went back home to Takei's house.
"She only got some community service and some remedial lessons for kidnapping me," Takei sighed. "Hopefully that's enough to stop her from trying it again..."
"Don't worry, there'll be police observing her now, a restraint warrant, and ankle cuffs. You'll be 100% fine!"
"This sounds just like a jinx..."
The way Akari was wording her answer to his worries made Takei think that it was some foreshadowing for some future return of the evil yandere.
"Even if it is..."
Akari cupped Takei's face in her two hands and leaned in close to his face.
"I'll protect you no matter what."
C-Cool! So cool!
This was the moment that Takei found out his girlfriend was more than just cute.
