Tonight, the long-awaited summer festival would finally happen after a long period of stress and anxiety. Many students were tired after the term that they had just finished for this school year, so they were ready to go out and have fun.
Takei was no exception to this festival fever that was spreading around. He had managed to get good marks on his finals after multiple hours of strenuous studying, but was utterly exhausted from school.
That was probably why he was so excited to go and have fun at the summer festival that only happened once a year.
"There's no school to worry about tomorrow, so let's have as much fun as possible!"
"Calm your horses. It's just a normal festival that happens every year!"
Eiji facepalmed as he held Takei back from escaping his house and running away. Akari had instructed him beforehand to do this because she knew how excited Takei was.
"I understand where he's coming from though, there's a lot of festivities to look forward to. All that food..." Haruto licked his lips.
Haruto was also here at Takei's house to get prepared for the festival. There was a serious lack of males in the friend group, so Takei was happy to welcome another person.
"You're going to gain a lot of weight and not enough muscle if you eat all that junk food," Ryuto scolded. "A healthy life starts with a healthy diet."
"Yeah, okay. That's true, but it's a special event that we're talking about!" Takei retorted.
"Well... I guess a little bit of junk food is fine..."
"Yahoo! We got the green light everyone!"
The girls were scheduled to meet up with the boys soon. They all met at Akari's house to get ready together and promised to go to Takei's house when they were ready.
Just like they had said, the doorbell rang and all the boys turned their heads to the direction of the sound. Akari had a key to the house, but she wanted the special effect of being welcomed into the home.
Takei went to open the door and was welcomed by six beautiful girls who were all in equally grand yukatas at the entrance.
"I'm sorry we kept you waiting," Akari said in an elegant yet bashful voice.
She was wearing a light pink yukata with a floral design and a dark purple obi. The yukata was a perfect fit for her, accentuating her curves and her overall radiance. There really was no other girl that could compare to her.
"Y-You're so beautiful..." Takei's honest words leaked out of his mouth.
Akari's face immediately turned a brighter shade of color. "A-Ah, thank you..."
Her words trailed off into the silence as her embarrassment took over. However, she managed to recover as she placed her hand on Takei's chest and leaned in close to his ear.
"You're very handsome as well," Akari sweetly whispered.
So cute. Oh my god. I'm gonna die of cuteness overload. My girlfriend is just the cutest!
"They're lost in their own world again..."
"Are we forced to watch this happen for the rest of our lives?"
"Does this always happen?"
Shizuku and Sakura were also with the group of girls, although they didn't know what antics Takei and Akari would always cause since they were a new addition to the friend group.

After all the greetings were said and done, the group headed to the summer festival that would be hosted near a shrine this year. The theme of this festival would be the three eras: past, present, and future.
Takei was extremely excited to go to this festival since he needed something to get his mind off of school, which was evident as he almost ran off towards the entrance by himself.
He was only stopped due to Akari tackling him and restricting his movement. "Nooooo! You can't go without me as well~"
Once everyone made it to the entrance together, this was where groups were created to help reduce casualties.
"Okay, this is how the groups will be," Rikka explained to everyone. "I'll go with Arisa, Helena, Eiji, and Ryuto. Takei and Akari will go with each other. Haruto will go with Shizuku and Sakura. Any questions?"
Haruto raised his hand. "Why are we separating into smaller groups when we headed here as one big one?"
"To make sure that romantic aura doesn't incapacitate everyone right off the bat. Don't worry, we'll still meet up with each other if we see one another."
The groups were separated as such because it would be hard to have fun at the festival if lovey-dovey couples were everywhere flaunting their relationships. These groupings were made with the two couples in mind.
"Ah! Akari look! There's a stand selling fried butter sticks!" Takei pointed to a small stand in the distance.
"That looks super unhealthy but yummy at the same time! Let's go!" Akari exclaimed.
Takei grabbed Akari's hand and quickly walked to the destination of their dreams.
"And they're off..."
The two disappeared so fast that they could no longer be seen through the large crowds of people.
"Where should I go then?" Haruto pondered.
Shizuku grabbed his arm and pointed to a far-off stand. "Let's go to the firing range first!"
Seeing this, Sakura refused to stay quiet. She grabbed Haruto's opposite arm that was free and pointed to a different stall. "Can you show me how to scoop up fish? Pretty please~?"
On the other hand, Haruto looked at both girls in confusion. "Why are you two so handsy today?"
The rest of the friend group saw the familiar scene in front of them and realized that it was once again happening.
""Die you dense protagonist!""
