We left our luggage at a hotel called ‘Darkness’.

It was a hotel that was famous after Shura, the Great Holy Lady of Yinyang stayed there for a while last year. As soon as our group went in, they welcomed us by even immediately opening up all the rooms they had as luxury rooms and spare rooms.

Just by looking at it, seems like this hotel is going to prosper a lot. As it’s going to produce not just one but two Great Holy Ladies.

But one point of regret is that they have a strong sense of service.

‘Man, who on earth would give a luxury room for four to one person? Shouldn’t they at least think about other guests?’

Putting down the luggage while grumbling, I opened the window and looked out.

Perhaps rumors were already spreading about our arrival as countless residents started to crowd around the hotel entrance already. Though the majority of them were merchants and residents of the area, the number of pilgrims started to gradually increase too.

At this point, it looks like we’d get surrounded and won’t even be able to dream of going outside.

I left the room right away and was looking around for an escape route.

“Hey, you. Is there a way to secretly escape from here?”

An employee pointed towards the nearby kitchen at my question.

“It’s in the kitchen.”

When I entered the kitchen, there was a small room where the goods were coming from. I got out through that and disappeared into an alleyway around as if permeating.

“Heyhey, come here~ these pieces of stuff are very cheap.”

I was entering a market way before I knew it. They bought and sold all sorts of things in this place, and I could even see street vendors selling snacks. I bought few grilled skewers from there and went around sightseeing downtown.

Many people glanced at me. On the other hand, it seemed like there were people who often recognized me because I looked somewhat unique.

But people continued to turn their heads and walked away thinking that there’s no way it’d be me.

‘Um. This place?’

Right as I left the market way, a familiar path came into my sight. It was a road I passed by while being chased by Katrianne last year. At that time, I had no choice but to go passing this way as I was running towards the Temple of Purity.

While I’m at it, I decided to drop by the Church of Purity. The Church of Purity was famous for having a lot of female elf devotees.

“Please come in. Devotee.”

I gave a pleasing look at the welcoming of a female priestess with red hair. It was a pretty female elf.

“I’m not a devotee of here though?”

“Still, please come in and look around once. You’d have a very meaningful religious experience.”

She was very active towards a male human like me, unlikely of an ordinary female elf. Though elves look like they’re very closed, but show flexibility when carrying out missionary work.

“Then, shall I go in for a moment?”

“Sure. Please come in.”

The female elf priestess introduced herself as Rielly.

I headed inside following Rielly’s escort. The place I was looking at was an area with a big brass-plated sign. This is the toilet that I used as an escape route last year, it was refurbished and sanctified before I knew it.

Is this something like the place where the Great Holy Lady of Flames killed the corrupt Grand Prince or what huh? Somehow it looks like I’ve left a proper historical trace.

“Ah, so this was the place where the corrupt Grand Prince died, I see.”

“Yes.”

I suddenly felt a look approaching us. Though it looked like someone was just watching, I caught a glimpse of a sharp vision containing a slightly murderous look.

“Allieta? Where are you going?”

I turned my head slightly at Rielly’s words. Allieta, a name I’ve heard before.

‘Allieta………… Who was it?’

Allieta was a female elf with blue eyes who had green hair cascading up to her waist. She looked like a typical forest elf.

She was tall just like an elf but had unusually long legs.

Nose standing tall with eyes laid gently. A solid body line as if she got considerably good training and her white skin just like a snowfield on a midwinter day looked impressive.

In other words, she looked fantastically beautiful. But the beauty that’s the most eye-catching is the abundant breast. I’m seeing a woman with breasts bigger than Armida for the first time.

“I’ll go out for a moment and be back. We just ran out of candles for worship that’s why.”

“Alright, have a safe trip.”

Right when Allieta left the temple, I asked Rielly.

“Who’s that?”

“One of our devotes.”

“She was wearing a priestess uniform though?”

“No. Though it looks similar, it’s a monk uniform. Allieta has been doing religious practices in our temple for the past 10 years you know.”

Though she is an elf, 10 years is a very long period. It was too much for the religious practices built by ordinary devotees.

“Oh my god, what kind of religious practices are 10 years long?”

“That’s because she’s planning on going to the Hall of Divinity this year.”

“But still, this is…”

I suddenly stopped moving. I only recalled who is Allieta at the mention of the Hall of Divinity.

Allieta was a female elf famous for being the Great Holy Lady whose whereabouts were concealed right after she was born.

‘So, she’s that Allieta huh…….’

Around the time of destruction, with Katrianne’s Idron, Princess Sierra’s Vermont, Princess Agnes’ Shia, and Padilla’s Gauss, there was a total of four of the Seven Sacred Weapons.

The remaining three came back to the Hall of Divinity 6 years ago, and Allieta’s one comes back too. It’s called ‘Aslan, the palace of the Great Faith’

And that means that there was a certain reason for Allieta’s death. Because the Seven Sacred Weapons return to the Hall of Divinity once the owner is dead.

I had a strange smile on my lips.

Coming to think of it, I’ve had a relationship with every Great Holy Lady except for the Valkyries. Princess Sierra was my fiancé, Princess Agnes was my first love, I was Padilla’s, true love. And today, though it was just a relationship passing by, I met Allieta too.

“What’s up with you?”

“Nothing. I just thought of something interesting.”

“What’s interesting?”

“My connections.”

Maybe it was that Rielly couldn’t grasp the situation, she tilted her head.

Afterward, I wandered the Temple of Purity and looked around. Though there was no new view as it has a similar structure to that of other Church of Light, I didn’t even realize the day going by while looking at the pretty female elves.

***

Around evening, I came back to the hotel after a simple tour.

People were still crowded in front of the entrance as ever. They stretched out their necks and looked up at the window of the hotel’s top floor, just in case they see at least Shura’s face.

If one was to be picked among the current Great Holy Ladies as the most popular one, it’d be Shura. Because she was known as the one and only Great Holy Lady who’s on the side of Darkness and had an instance where she displayed a miracle through the last war.

Of course, though it cannot be exactly called a miracle, as Kara went as far as to destruct the Great man Robros with only a few thousand men, it might as well be called a miracle.

And I appear in that miracle too. I entered the hotel through the kitchen door worrying that I might get caught by others.

“Brother! Where have you been!”

Armida screamed right as she spotted me. Picking my ear, I stared at her awkwardly.

“What now?”

“Tomorrow is the day we go to report, isn’t it? There’s so much to prepare, what am I to do if you suddenly disappear like that?”

“You said there was nothing to report?”

“We still have to prepare.”

“Prepare what?”

“The report.”

“What are you going write in it?”

“Anything that looks plausible.”

I scratched my head in annoyance

“You should’ve done that beforehand. Why are you making a scene now?”

“Hurry up!”

“Let’s do it after eating okay? Eating? My head doesn’t work if I’m hungry.”

“You can just get your food by ordering room service, right? Hurry up and come.”

“Heh. Food has to be eaten on the table. I can’t digest if I eat on the desktop.”

“Brother! Are you seriously going to be like this?”

“I’ll come in a while and help you.”

I hurriedly ran towards the hotel restaurant. Now I have to do assignments when I’m on a tour as well? Somehow it seems like I have to run away again right after I eat.

“Today’s menu.”

I made an order at the restaurant on the second floor. They say it’s a wine-steamed lamb meal, they also give it along with buttered bread. I examined my surrounding while I was waiting for the meal to see if there was anyone among the guests too who’d recognize me. There were glances from all directions.

‘Looks like I look even more eye-catching due to the mask.’

When I was fiddling with the buckwheat noodles, a woman with a hood pulled down walked towards me. Though I tried to chase her away as it was bothersome, I just pretended not to know because just by the look of it, I could tell she was a beautiful woman with a killer style.

She sat in front of me and crossed her legs.

“Buckwheat noodles. Long time no see………”

It looked as if the woman knew me. I gave a piercing look at the face inside to hood and frowned. Though she was quite a beauty, it was because she was much of an unwelcomed guest.

Evelyn Sokos.

She was a master assassin who had associated with me once around last year summer.

“You, have you been stalking us?”

“No. It’s you guys who came to the hotel that I was staying at.”

“You’re staying here?”

“Hmm. I was staying just up until a while ago. But I just got kicked out. Because of who?”[Read this novel and other amazing translated novels from the original source at the “Novel Multiverse dot com” website @ novelmultiverse.com]

Looking at it, it seemed like she was kicked out because of us. Because she was on her way to the queen with a considerable amount of escort troops.

No wonder they gave this many rooms when I didn’t even make a reservation for St. Proscia Day.

“Sorry about that. So, do you want to stay in my room with me? It’s quite spacious for me to use alone as it’s a room for four.”

Evelyn raised a corner of her lips, revealing her long fangs.

“Are you teasing me? Are you trying to seduce me?”

“The latter, of course.”

“But we are enemies, aren’t we? Don’t tell me you forgot?”

I gestured a no while waving my hands.

“Where do you find eternal enemies or allies in this world? You just connect if your feelings are good.”

“Having good feelings…… Indeed, there were many times where we had good feelings.”

“Such as?”

“Firstly, buy me a meal?”

“Why, don’t you even have money to buy food?”

“I do have, but I’m running low on living costs. I mean the person I’m serving currently is hitting the rock bottom in their living ability.”

“Hmph. Indeed, you guys are quite lacking when it comes to this. That’s why I’m going through a hard time too.”

Evelyn narrowed her eyes and stared at me.

“You, by any chance do you know who we are?”

“If you’re being that obvious, of course, I’d know. Honestly, don’t you think I can get an estimate by just the ‘Felony of a Deadly Sin’? Isn’t it an essence containing the magic that will never be allowed by The Sky City of Koronos and is of a scale that cannot be made by a human?”

I clapped by hand and called the waiter. And ordered one more of the same menu.”

Evelyn quietly tightened her jaw.

“Indeed.”

I slightly glanced at her.

“By the way, I’m advising you. Don’t cause a big scene this time. We’re all cornered here now.”

“I know. I have to thank them.”

“Even after knowing why we’re being cornered?”

“It’d be an annual event only if they do their best, isn’t it?”

“Ohh, you do know it well huh?”

“It was the same last year too you know.”

My eyes widened.

“You were here last year too?”

“Hmm. I had something to steal from the Divine War. Of course, I succeeded in my duty.”

“Really? The security would’ve been no joke though?”

“Right. It was so, but I finished it off easily as an immature Grand Prince caused a scene there. You know how it all goes flooding that way. Hohoho.”

I scratched the back of my nose at Evelyn’s refreshing smile. That immature Grand Prince was none other than me.

“That’s why you created such a scene at Kara?”

“Hmm. Since it has good effects.”

Soon the food arrived on the table. Evelyn who got a taste of it deliciously started on her meal by grabbed two forks and tearing the steamed lamb meat into bits.

I sneakily started speaking.

“Hey, by the way, what on earth is your real aim? It’s because I can’t believe what I hear from the other sisters.”

“You want to know?”

“Hmm. There’s nothing bad in knowing it too, right? I’m curious too.”

“But I feel better that you’d not know.”

“Why?”

“If you know it, you’d die with no trace.”

I chuckled at her harsh remark.

“I mean, if the World’s Best Evelyn is willing to kill, there’d be no one alive in the world, isn’t it?”

“Not me.”

“Hmm?”

“So, you don’t have to know. Even if you get to know, you need to pretend to not know.”

Evelyn gave a meaningful look towards me. I got a feeling of it and slightly bit my lips. She looked as if she was talking about the sisters on our side.

Of course, it could be a lie too, if my life depends on it. I have to look at it with careful consideration. Anyways, there’s nothing I’m going to lose by pretending not to know anything too.

“I get it. I’ll take that advice.”

“Good decision.”

I tore apart the bread and ate it while dipping it in the steamed wine.

“So, what do I give in return as a token of appreciation for the advice?”

“If you’re truly thankful, make a deal with me.”

“A deal?”

“Nowadays it seems that they’re asking for ideas at Kara? I heard that the reward is around ten thousand riffs?”

Somehow it looked like Evelyn saw the contest poster that was up in the entity of the Western Great Desert. It was an invention contest that can transport large quantities of supplies quickly.

“She’s indeed seen it well huh.”

Evelyn looked sharply.

“Hmm. I mean, it was right next to the reward poster of our owner.”

“Ah, don’t care about that poster a lot. It’s just a formality so… We too have to do our work you know.”

“I mean, we don’t care about it much too. Since it’s a meaningless poster.”

“I’m glad if you think that way.”

“Anyways, we’ll be able to offer that idea, but are you going to give us a reward?”

“If I like it, any amount would do.”

Evelyn pulled out a bunch of documents from her subspace pouch. Though I couldn’t see at once as it was pretty thick, it also looked some kind of a design with a strange magic-powered mechanism.

I said while turning them over.

“What kind of mechanical device is this?”

“It’s an item made by our owner. He calls it the Magic-powered Iron Train.”

“Magic-powered Iron Train?”

“By any chance, do you know about the tracks installed in the mine?”

I do know. It’s the wheelable rail on the floor to carry as fast and as much heavy ore as possible in a mine.

“Hmm.”

“It’s a magic-powered iron train that runs on it. Though the structure may be complicated, just think of it as an item that can be made by humans. The complexity of the magic is not more than that of a portal tower, and the mechanical principle is to reverse the waterwheel.”

“Really? Then, how much can it carry?”

“It can carry thousands of people and runs at 20kmph.”

To be honest, it was a colossal thing. If it runs at 20kmph, you could cross the Southern Desert in just two days.

Though the problem was that the cost of merely installing the railroads and producing the magic-powered iron train was unimaginably expensive, it wasn’t the matter in question.

First of all, it was a problem with lives at stake.

If only I could evacuate the Shikar people to Jores Island during the period of destruction, the defense force of the island could be increased too, making my lifespan increase naturally too.

“I like it.”

“Then, you give the word around in Kara, okay?”

Right when Evelyn was about to put the mechanism documents back into the pouch, I grabbed her wrist. There was no guarantee as to when I will get this mechanism design again if she leaves now.

“Let’s make a deal right here.”

“You have the money for it?”

“Hmm.”

I said so and poured out gold coins from my pouch onto the table. It was the money I made by selling a large number of mana-explosive launchers during the last war.

I completed the exchange soon and picked up the mechanism design, smiling in triumph. It was a design that contained Valkyrie’s knowledge of Magic Engineering. It would certainly not be an ordinary item.
