In fact, Lu Li had discovered this torch monster in his previous life, but he hadn’t actually seen it yet this time.
However, this was how Instance Dungeons were to be solved – with a bit of observation to find the relevant clues.
Another large wave of Iron Recruits came rushing over with their axes. The monsters with torches seemed to be wandering around, and even appeared to be consciously avoiding the players. They were also a bit shorter than the others, which made them even harder to find.
“The two of us Thieves will go invisible to look for them. You guys just need to continue attracting the attention of the monsters, otherwise, it will too difficult to move around in Stealth,” Lu Li instructed as he began assigning everyone’s roles.
The most important Profession here was the Thief. A single Thief could do the job, but it would be much more difficult. After the first lamp was lit, the other lamp had to be lit within 5 minutes. Otherwise, the first lamp would be extinguished and a new torch would need to be found.
If they were unlucky, they could be stuck here for quite some time.
If the team did not bring a Thief, things would become even worse as it was purely a matter of luck as to whether they would be able to complete this quest.
The all-star team included Lu Li and Water Fairy. The fact that there were two Thieves meant that there wasn’t too much of a concern.
Prior to this, Lu Li had allowed for each team member to pick up items freely.
There were three ways to distribute items in Dawn. The first was the allow everyone to pick them up freely – whoever saw an item first would take it. The next method was by allocation. Those who could use the equipment would be given preference to compete for it. The third was by allocation of the leader.
Generally, a party attempting to complete a First Clear would go with allocation by the leader. Everyone had the right to see what the item was, but the ownership of the item was purely in the hands of the party leader.
There was also the special case where the Party Leader would give someone the right to allocate the equipment. The Xin Xin Mercenary Group was an example of this, as Lu Li would give Remnant Dream the right to allocate the equipment most of the time.
Although there were many recruits in the lecture hall, they had not reached the point where they were cramped shoulder to shoulder. They were only crowded in the area where the players were because they were attracted to that location. This meant that it wasn’t too difficult for Water Fairy and Lu Li to remain in Stealth.
Trying to find the monsters felt like a big waste of time, and Lu Li’s eyes began feeling sore.
“There’s a monster here called an Iron Fury. He’s carrying a torch in hands,” Water Fairy messaged.
“Don’t kill it yet; just follow it. Wait until I find another and then we’ll kill it together,” Lu Li said. He was afraid that he would have bad luck and would be unable to find another one within the 5 minutes.
Fortunately, he found his target within two minutes. This Dwarf was shorter than the others and was indeed called an Iron Fury. The torch-bearer was holding small torch that was quite inconspicuous.
Now that he had found it, there was nothing left to wait for. Both Lu Li and Water Fairy rushed in to deal with their targets.
Although the Iron Fury was slightly stronger than the other monsters, it wasn’t strong enough.
After a few seconds of fighting, Lu Li picked up the fallen torch and stuffed it into his bag. Backpacks in Dawn were a magical thing. Anything could be put in them, including a burning torch. Lu Li then casted Gale Steps to get away before the surrounding monsters could react.

Water Fairy did a similar thing to Lu Li and the two returned to the door almost simultaneously.
They lit the lamps at the same time, and immediately heard a rumbling sound. The Temple of Shadowforge City was soon revealed before them.
Once they entered the area, the doors closed behind them. After they had cleaned up the monsters, everyone finally had the time to observe the last holy place of Blackrock Abyss.
The first thing they saw was a long passage, which fire-breathing statues on both sides.
A giant stone figure that was engulfed in flames walked along this long passage. In the silence, only its heavy footsteps could be heard and they weighed heavily on the players’ hearts.
This was Magmus, a lava giant.
Ambassador Flamelash had created the lava giant Magmus, who was responsible for guarding the throne room of the Emperor Dragan Thaurissan. Even so, the Ruler of the Iron Dwarves didn’t feel at ease. Out of fear of being assassinated, the Emperor allowed Magmus to control a number of statues that could shoot jets of flame outside his royal hall.
“I’m glad it’s just one monster,” Azure Sea Breeze sighed in relief somewhat ignorantly. After facing all those weak Dwarves in the lecture hall, everyone needed to take a break.
“Go ahead then.”
Lu Li couldn’t do much about this guy’s ignorance.
Azure Sea Breeze couldn’t tank the Boss for very long as he was taking damage from the Boss and the flames that were being spat out from both sides.
Lu Li saw that there was a total of six jets of flame pointed at him.
The others were stunned and quickly withdrew from the range of the flames. Magmus then snorted at Lu Li and the others before going back to his leisurely walk.
This monster actually didn’t bother to chase them at all.
After Azure Sea Breeze was revived, they began discussing what they could do. The first thing to do was to let Azure Sea Breeze go in first while everyone else dealt damage from a safe position. They could now see that the fire-breathing devices were mobile.
They had also given up on the strategy of pulling the Boss away, as the Boss clearly wasn’t interested in chasing them.
No matter how they thought about it, the only thing they could think of was to share some of the damage with the Main Tank. However, this would significantly increase the pressure on the Healers.
This wasn’t too concerning, as they had three powerful healers.
Lu Li gave everyone a pep talk to raise morale and announced the start of the next battle.
“You don’t know what fear is!” the lava giant that was covered in flames boomed as it ran over. The flaming jets also started to spew hot plumes of fire.
Lu Li had actually never been here before. He previously had the privilege of coming to Blackrock Abyss, but he never reach this place. There were very few wild groups that fought the Seven and it was rare even among Elite Groups. He also didn’t have much time to go to Instance Dungeons anyway. Although farming gold from elsewhere didn’t yield as much at a time, it was much more consistent.
Nevertheless, Lu Li had read the strategies for it, and started to recall more information as the fight began.
