Drizzle Court were still constructing their Stronghold in the Western Wastelands, so they were on high alert in case of an invasion.
Ruling Sword and Drizzle Court were affected the most by the fact that Lu Li and Water Fairy were now official.
Water Fairy started playing games in her teens and had great potential. Back then, she was a well-beloved little girl and was very ambitious in pursuing a gaming career. Therefore, she persuaded her father to allow her to use the money left behind by her mother and invested it all into the gaming industry.
With the continual support of her father, she was now one of the most powerful people in the game.
Drizzle Court had caught up to those hundred-year-old major guilds in every aspect. Even though Sorrowless was considered a legend, his guild was built upon the foundations of an already powerful guild in Glory Capital.
Many would say that Lu Li had taken even less time to establish Ruling Sword as one of the best guilds in the game.
In the past, there had been many cases of new guilds that suddenly rose in power. However, they all ended up falling even harder than they had risen. Many had since disappeared and only lasted less than a few years at the top.
Drizzle Court had multiple sub-guilds; they didn’t place all their eggs in one basket. Even if Water Fairy was to disappear off the face of the earth, they would still be able to continue.
If something happened to Lu Li, that would be a completely different story.
Did this mean that Water Fairy was too good for Lu Li?
“Water Fairy is so out of Lu Li’s league; he’s not that handsome. Water Fairy deserves someone better-looking than Sorrowless at least!”
“All men must die, because no one deserves Water Fairy.”
“Why… why…why does it feel like I just got dumped? Water Fairy, please don’t date anyone.”
“I think Water Fairy is still quite young. She’s too young to settle with a guy.”
“What if Lu Li has ulterior motives behind dating Water Fairy? Is he trying to take over our guild?”
“Not only is she beautiful, but she’s also super wealthy and has power both in and out of the game.”
Water Fairy had so many fanboys in the guild that it would be impossible for Lu Li to gain approval from everyone. Many of the guild members thought that no man deserved Water Fairy.
However, not everyone was against this; there were some people who completely supported the two.
“This is a win-win situation. We won’t need to worry about clearing dungeons anymore, hahaha.”
“I think Lu Li is a hard-working man. He’s much more capable than those rich second-generation players. All they do is lay around all day waiting to inherit money.”
“He’s not bad-looking at all. He’s capable, respectful and a gentleman. What else can Water Fairy ask for?”
“Stop being so petty – maybe they’re truly in love.”
“Yeah, just leave them alone!”
“To be honest, Water Fairy has high standards, which means that she must see something in Lu Li that nobody else sees. Lu Li’s not exactly the most romantic person either, which means that Water Fairy must really like him.”
“I think they’re very suitable for each other. I wonder what their dates are like.”

Compared to the hateful comments from Drizzle Court, most players from Ruling Sword were extremely happy for Lu Li. They were impressed by that fact that their Boss was able to be with one of the most desired women in the game.
Water Fairy was always on the leaderboards for the Beauty Rankings, she also had one of the wealthiest backgrounds and she was extremely popular.
A lot of female players depended on the male players to lead them.
However, Water Fairy was one of the few girls who was completely independent.
When the two announced that they were official, the world chat exploded.
This was one of the rare times that so many people announced that they had lost the love of their life. Even though most of them liked her in secret, life seemed much more meaningless and miserable.
Lu Li and Water Fairy rarely appeared in public together because they were both quite private people. Even so, when Lu Li arrived at Darkshore, he was swarmed by a large group of people who congratulated him.
Lu Li didn’t know what to do besides running away, but there were some that were unavoidable.
Other guild leaders, professional players and close acquaintances could not be avoided. They could take it the wrong way and think that Lu Li was too good for them now.
If Lu Li was just a professional player, he could keep up a quiet and distant image as an individual. However, since he was the leader of Ruling Sword, he had no choice but to socialize and make connections with others.
The more he socialized, the higher chance of great players joining him.
Therefore, he had to maintain his smile and continue to talk to other players, guild leaders and even potential investors.
A while ago, investors were still hesitant on Ruling Sword, but now everyone was trying to capitalize on this opportunity before it was too late. Whether Lu Li would accept Water Fairy’s funding was another question. Those that were close to him knew that he hated to take things for free.
“Mr. Lu, you’ve already achieved so much at such a young age. Your potential is limitless.”
While the man behind these words was charismatic, he was not very good looking. However, the way he carried himself made him the center of attention.
“No, you’re too kind. I had no idea you were coming today,” Lu Li said.
This man was the president of the League competition and went by the ID Little Team Captain. He rarely logged onto Dawn because he was too busy organizing the competition. Besides the yearly Pro League, he also managed various competition in other games as well.
“It’s been so long since the last event. I’m so keen for this,” Little Team Captain laughed.
“We’re just playing around; it’s not really much. We’re just doing some advertising for the gaming company,” Lu Li spoke honestly. He had no intention of trying to gain popularity from dating Water Fairy. He made sure to maintain and honest image in front of Little Team Captain.
“You’re both very good looking. What’s there to hide?” Little Team Captain asked, then sighed, “When Water Fairy first debuted into the game, I always wondered who a suitable partner for her would be.
“Thanks.”
Lu Li didn’t know what else to say.
He knew he was destined to be scrutinized by the eyes of jealous men. He didn’t know what Little Team Captain’s true intentions behind his words were, but all he could do was to be cautious around him. Little Team Captain had a very good reputation and the success of the Pro League was mainly thanks to him. However, he was notorious for playing favorites with certain individuals. He would support those that he liked and shut off those that he didn’t.
He was definitely someone you didn’t want to be on the wrong side of.
“I came today to see what all the commotion is about and also to give you the invitation for the Donghua Cup,” Little Team Captain explained as he took out a well-crafted invitation letter stamped with the cup logo.
The Donghua Cup was an historic competition that originated 150 years ago. A very wealthy man wanted to show his appreciation for the gaming industry, so he donated more than half his wealth to establish the Donghua Cup.
His offspring were the ones organising the competition.
Much like when Lu Li first started the game, smaller and lesser known guilds had to apply for competitions. However, invitation letters were sent out to Major guilds without the need of them applying for themselves.
