Chapter 1567: Suspicion

Translator: Exodus Tales  Editor: Exodus Tales

Now, these fires were about to be of use.

“Wait until I put this egg on the bone rack. Many monsters will come out, wanting to destroy the egg.”

First, Lu Li decided to explain to the others how to do this quest. Then, he continued explaining how everyone would work together.

Monsters would come at them from all directions at the altar. One Main Tank wasn’t enough. Fortunately, these were all level 50 monsters and they weren’t particularly strong. Square Root Three could command his pet bear to stand guard and Hachi Chan just needed to heal the team whenever they needed it.

The design of the Bloodthirsty monsters was quite disgusting. They were extremely quick, but fortunately, their HP and Armor was low. It only took around two or three hits to kill one of them.

They dropped an item called Hakkar’s Blood. This was a gluey-type of liquid which could be used to extinguish the fires on the altar. Every time they threw some of Hakkar’s Blood on the fire, they would grow smaller and smaller.

However, the situation was now absolute chaos.

They needed to kill monsters on one hand, then pick up Hakkar’s Blood and throw it on the fires. Some of the monsters that penetrated through the defense managed to get close to the Ancient Egg. No one knew how important this quest was to Lu Li, so naturally, they immediately took care of them.

Fortunately, when one of the fires were put out, monsters would no longer spawn from that direction.

The fires were extinguished one after another. At that time, the bone rack situated at the middle of the altar slowly constructed a gigantic Wind Serpent, which was also the manifestation of the Evil God Hakkar.

“Alright. We just need to kill him, and then we’ll be done,” Lu Li said, breathing a sigh of relief. The quest would finally be finished.

This was a level 50 manifestation of Hakkar. Its entrance was quite grand and eye-catching, but its departure was one of shame. After all, it was only a level 50 Instance Dungeon Boss, while the players who came were all level 60.

After the Boss died, Hachi Chan went to loot its drops.

These were the standard drops, and without the little lucky hand here, there wasn’t any hope for surprises. Soon after, everyone left the grounds.

Lu Li stored away the Ancient Egg once again. However, this time, it was different to the version from before. The Egg that Lu Li was holding now had Hakkar’s spirit essence sealed within it.

“Haha! That’s right! This is how it should be indeed!” Yeh’Kinya exclaimed, jumping and dancing for joy.

“Uncle Yeh’Kinya, does this mean that we’ve finished the quest?” Hachi Chan asked.

“Of course! You guys are really quite outstanding. You were much quicker than I thought. I have some of my collected equipment here. Both of you can pick one out among these,” Yeh’Kinya kindly offered.

It was quite rare for Epic items to be rewards for quests. However, the Dark Gold items that Yeh’Kinya was giving out were quite powerful. Lu Li and Hachi Chan picked two items that seemed useful, so that they could throw them in the guild storage for others.

“Uncle Yeh’Kinya, what do you want to do with this Egg that has Hakkar’s spirit essence?” Hachi Chan asked as she pointed at the precious Ancient Egg.

“Hmm…”

Yeh’Kinya didn’t think that Hachi Chan would ask that type of question and not leave after finishing the quest. He paused for a second, then hesitatingly replied, “Of course, I’ll be destroying it. Young ones, you have saved the land of Azeroth. Your names will be resounded for eternity! However, you are still a little weak as of now, so you cannot take on even greater challenges. You should go and strengthen yourselves!”

Hachi Chan hesitated, suspecting him of something, but she was quickly pulled away by Lu Li. When they were about to leave, she still wanted to return.

This was their first time saving Azeroth. Unfortunately, she couldn’t see the destruction of the Egg, so she wasn’t satisfied.

They were quickly stopped by a rough, tough and young Dwarf. He was wearing armor that was typical of the Dwarven race, while also wielding a bright and shiny shovel. On his back were many items, tied together in a messy heap.

“I am Jans Ironboot!” the Dwarf announced in a low, muffled voice.

“Ironboot. Right. Are you one of the more well-known members of the Ironboot? I didn’t think that I would be able to see a member of the Ironboot in such a remote area. Has something in Danaris caught your interest?” Compared to the other more cunning races, Lu Li preferred to interact with the Elves and Dwarves instead.

The way to interact with the Dwarves was that if you treated them a certain way, then they would treat you as brothers.

There were many ways to gain favour with Dwarves. Firstly, there was ores and smithing, secondly, there was alcohol, and lastly, there was mentioning their family name. Complimenting on their beards or muscles was useless. However, naming some of their more prominent clan members would make them feel like you had just complimented their whole clan.

“Haha, that’s right! I am of the Ironboot. I am Prospector Jans Ironboot,” the young Dwarf said as he stood up straight and puffed out his chest.

“Keep complimenting me! Keep going!” he thought to himself.

However, Lu Li didn’t have that much time to compliment him. Furthermore, he didn’t know that much about the Ironforge and the Ironboot Clan. He only knew that this clan had produced many travellers, prospectors and archaeologists. These professions matched the clan name quite well.

“May I ask, what can we do to help?”

“Oh, that’s right. Just then, I heard you guys talk to that Troll,” the Dwarf said, then scratched his butt and continued, “It wasn’t my intention to listen in, but it was because I was sleeping in my tent nearby. The tent isn’t soundproof at all.”

“I understand. My friend, this isn’t something major,” Lu Li replied.

“Thank you, Elf,” Jans Ironboot breathed a sigh of relief, then continued, “However, I don’t think that Troll was telling the truth. You guys gave him the two tablets which involved Hakkar’s spirit essence, but there should be many more according to the contents of the legend! I have already researched a long time into this. Furthermore, I found that there should be six Mosh’Aru tablets in total! Not two, but six tablets!”

“So, what you’re saying is?”

Lu Li’s heart was extremely calm, but his facial expression was that of utter surprise.

“Although I’m not sure as to why he’s hiding this from you, I don’t think that this is something good. That Troll doesn’t look like someone who has good intentions,” Jans Ironboot said.

“I felt that something wasn’t quite right either. It was as if he was hiding something from us. However, it definitely isn’t something good.” Hachi Chan nodded her head furiously in agreeance. Although Yeh’Kinya was extremely nice to her, this quest felt like it was shrouded in mist and fog. This was different to the quests that she had undertaken before.

“What do we do now?” Lu Li asked.

“Find the third and fourth Mosh’Aru tablets. They are in the Eastern Plaguelands and are guarded by a Mossflayer. Once you find them, give them to me. I can understand what is written on the tablets,” Jans Ironboot said, proceeding to give them a quest.

It looked like this questline was continuing.
