Chapter 1768: The Final Nightmare

Ruling Sword defeated Blood Red War Flag and entered into the semifinals.

Drizzle Court defeated Peerless City and entered into the semifinals.

Glory Capital defeated Wings of Dawn and entered into the semifinals.

Gale Legion defeated Gods of Dusk and entered into the semifinals.

For the most amazing battle, you couldn’t go past Drizzle Court against Peerless City, who had both given it their absolute all. In the arena, Green Flag Wine and Deadly Gold Underpants eliminated three members from Drizzle Court to lead by one point.

When it came to the group battle, Star Baby gave an outstanding performance. Just when she was on the brink of death from focused fire, an area-of-effect Fear managed to turn the tables at just the right moment.

Her AoE Fear was a strengthened skill which would persist until she had no one attacking her, unless all the people that she Feared had the power to dispel it. At that time, the players in Peerless City had used up all of their Dispel methods, so they had no choice but to helplessly watch Star Baby slowly heal the HP bars of herself and her teammates.

Lu Li’s aim was to get into the semifinals, and now, they had achieved their goal.

Having learnt from the lesson of fighting against Wild, after Lu Li finished with the competition, he began to research his opponents, especially those competitors from Glory Capital. Although these most recent battles weren’t officially broadcast, there were a lot of so-called expertly-analysed posts online, giving detailed analysis of the competitors’ equipment, skills and techniques. Some were useless and others were even misleading, but there were a few that were outstanding. It was up to you to see if you could find the things you were looking for in them.

Lu Li realized gloomily that for Glory Capital’s competitors, there were very few that you could really prepare for.

This also meant that Glory Capital’s competitors had a lot of room to play around with in their battles.

Since they had entered into the semifinals, Lu Li definitely wouldn’t be satisfied with their current results. It would be ideal if they were able to bring home the championship again. The goal of every club was to win the championship. The championship brought with it massive financial benefits as well as a reputation that no one could smear in the gaming world.

Ruling Sword had finished off the previous Boss and were facing Kel’Thuzad again.

There was no doubt that Kel’Thuzad was a genius in magic.

There were many famous Mages in Dawn. The most powerful Mage was Norgannon, who was a Titan and one of the creators. The second most powerful mage was the blue dragon Malygos, a representative of magic. Of course, it was Norgannon who bestowed on the Guardians a limitless magic ability. There were also some outstanding mages in Elven history, like Queen Azshara, Prince Kael’thas and so on.

There were actually a lot of powerful humans in the field of magic too.

For example, Aegwynn was without a doubt the most powerful human Mage of all time in Azeroth. As the most outstanding Guardian of the Tirisfal Assembly, she had no competition in being ranked number one.

She devoted herself all along and finally fought a decisive battle against Sargeras, sealing his body in his tomb.

Then, there was Medivh. He was Aegwynn’s son, and harbored in his heart the strongest antagonism against Sargeras in Dawn. Over his whole life, he had been using the power of his spirit to fight against Sargeras’ will, working hard and never giving up on his quest to recapture his own freedom.

There was no doubt that Antonidas could be ranked number three. He was the leader of the Kirin Tor group of Dalaran mages. Simply put, he was the king of Mages.

At the same time, he was also the teacher of Kel’Thuzad and Jaina. Since he was young, he had possessed natural gifts for Magic. When he was 12, he published an essay titled ‘The Branching Methods of Implementing Past Time Travel in Exact Magic Practices.’ Most 12 year olds probably weren’t able to even say such a long name.

Khadgar was an extremely important figure in human history. As an Archmage, he was also one of the five heroes of the Dark Portal, a member of Lothar’s Sons, the only student of the Legendary Mage Medivh and the Eternal Guardian of Watchtite.

The fifth was Jaina. Her father was actually the highest ruler of the coastal kingdom of Kul Tiras. This little girl had been a genius in studying magic since she was a child. After she grew to be an adult, she focused her efforts on stopping Scourge plague of the third war from spreading. At the same time, she was with her close friend and romantic lover, Prince Arthas Menethil, as they ventured step by step into Blackfathom.

When the war grew worse, Jaina gained the trust of a new main Horde leader, Saar, who became the key figure in the Burning Legion that all the races of Azeroth banded against to fight.

Kel’Thuzad was ranked number six. Like all those people mentioned before, he was a genius in magic, and he was also the type to be ambitious. When he had finished studying all the traditional magic he should have studied, Kel’Thuzad hope to study some things that other people didn’t know about. At this, he chose to turn to spirits.

This form of magic wasn’t weak at all – it was just that it was riddled with problems. With the birth of the Lich King, Kel’Thuzad also received the summons from the Lich King. In his long, difficult, crushing journey through the icy wastelands of Northrend, Kel’Thuzad knelt down at the Lich King’s feet. In the end, he didn’t just offer up his devotion, but his own soul as well. He became a great Lich, commanding brainless, ordinary undead Scourge soldiers to fight for the Lich King.

He started up the Cult of the Damned and was one of the heads of the cult.

When players were at level 60, he was their final Boss. Killing him meant that they had finished all the public Instance Dungeons, and it also meant the beginning of the level 70s.

Kel’Thuzad’s normal attacks were rather average. To a Main Tank like Azure Sea Breeze, he still wouldn’t be able to dealt 2000 damage. However, there was no doubt that as the final Boss of the final Instance Dungeon for level 60s, he certainly couldn’t be easy to deal with.

His Frostbolt spell didn’t have to be discussed. With a 6 second cooldown, it was often cast against the target with the most aggro, dealing 8000-9000 Frost damage. However, it could be blocked by various spells that shielded against Magic.

Although Azure Sea Breeze was able to tank Kel’Thuzad, 8000 damage would spell a massive change to their development of strategy.

Lu Li arranged for some people to purposely focus on blocking Frostbolt.

Apart from Frostbolt, there was also an AoE Frostbolt. With a cooldown of about 15 seconds, it would attack 40 people with no exceptions, dealing about 3000 Frost damage. However, this could mitigated by Ice Resistance equipment.

Kel’Thuzad’s Chain could attack about 5 targets at once. The players who were targeted would grow physically bigger, with their damage increased by 200% and healing power increased by 500%. They would then attack their other teammates, give buffs to Kel’Thuzad and heal him too.

Self-Destructing Magic targeted those players with mana. After 5 seconds, this spell would deal half the amount of mana in damage to their teammates within 5 feet of them, but it didn’t deal any damage to themselves.

Shadow Clink drew boundaries under the players’ feet. Five seconds later, it would deal tens of thousands of shadow damage, but it was easy to avoid.

Frost Attack dealt 2000-3000 Frost damage to the players and would freeze players within 10 yards of the Boss. Those players who were frozen would lose health by the percentage point. If they didn’t receive any healing, they were doomed to die. Basically speaking, they needed to spread out as far as they could.

Individually, they were all relatively easy to deal with, but put together, it was clear that Kel’Thuzad would be the last nightmare for the level 60 players.
