Chapter 756: Past Soldiers Don’t Die – They Only Wither.

"How good would it be if I could recruit this guy?" Lu Li thought to himself. No matter how powerful Keeshan was, he couldn't compete against a Thief who could open someone else's storage.
"We only have a minute until the alarm goes off. Move!" Krakauer yelled as he rushed in like a rabbit.
The second one that rushed in was Lu Li.
It was hard for him to stay calm when an open storage was laid out before him.
The Blackrock Tauren kept many things, but the most abundant of these were wooden logs – they took up ninety-nine percent of the area. After all, this was a mill.
Fortunately, the last one percent was quite valuable.
Runecloth!
From the lowest tier, to the most common ones on the market, Runecloth was of a higher grade than Mageweave Cloth. Usually, only monsters above level 50 would drop them.
Level 45 or above monsters would sometimes drop them too, but the chances were low.
The strength of level 50 monsters was at a whole new level, so the prices of Runecloth had always been very high.
A whole set included 200 pieces and there were 17 here. Lu Li threw out some rubbish from his bag to pick all of them up. Water Fairy chose herbs instead, which were just as valuable, and stuffed as many as she could into her bag.
Wood was valuable too, but was very heavy and would only slow them down. Lu Li and Water Fairy didn't even bother with it.
"Go! Let's get out of here!"
The four NPCs had already found their equipment and gotten changed. Their classes were only identifiable after they wore their equipment.
"Let's go! If we don't go, we're going to be surrounded here!" Messner shouted as he flung a giant fireball into the piles of wood.
Lu Li snatched a few sets of animal hide and was dragged away by the NPCs. The System probably couldn't bear with him any longer; he had forgotten about everything the moment he saw money.
The market price for Runecloth Cloth at the moment was around 90 silver per piece, so 17 sets was worth around 3000 gold coins.
This had come as an unexpected surprise; he thought this was going to be an average quest.
If he used all of this money to purchase houses in Lakeshire and sell them after a few months, he could probably return more than half of the debt he owed to Water Fairy.
Lu Li was still overwhelmed by the joy of his profits and didn't even realize that they had reached safety.
"Thank-you for rescuing us. Is there anything we can do to be of service?" Messner asked. He was a wise person and knew that no one would save them without a hidden agenda, especially from a place like the Blackrock Tauren camp.
"It's about this…" Lu Li began, cutting straight to the point. It was always better to be blunt with soldiers.
"John won't agree to it. Even if you rescue us, there's nothing we can do about it. He's too sad."
The few NPCs glanced at each other and shook their heads. They felt sorry that they couldn't be of help, but there was no way that they would return to the cages on their own.
"What is there to be sad about? We're not girls. We're asking him to kill some Tauren. Doesn't he want to kill Tauren? Do you guys not want to kill Tauren?" Lu Li asked.

The breathing of the NPCs became heavier, as they remembered being tortured in their cells.
Only Water Fairy glared at Lu Li briefly and waved her dagger in a small motion. It took an immense amount of self-control for her to not stab Lu Li.
"What's wrong with girls? What did girls do to you? No wonder you're still single," she cursed under breath.
The group then made their way to the underground boxing club. This time, John J. Keeshan was in the ring with someone else. From way things looked, he was still the one getting hit.
For who seemed reckless, he certainly wasn't dumb. He was beaten brutally every time, but he always managed to earn his money in the end. His opponents walked away thinking they could win next time, so he constantly had business.
What Lu Li didn't understand was that he was still subjecting himself to pain.
Unintentionally, Keenshan scanned across the audience and found familiar faces. He did the usual, and his poor opponent dropped to the floor before they even realized what had happened.
Then, curses filled the air.
"You guys," Keeshan lamented as he looked at Messner and his other old battalion members.
The last battalion.
There had been so many of them in Bravo Company, but nearly all of them had fallen on the frontlines while they battled against the Tauren.
After some furious debate, they finally agreed that killing the Blackrock Tauren was their common goal. As for the civilians in the Lakeshire, no one mentioned them. The hearts of this military men had already been shattered.
Past soldiers don't die – they only wither.
Keeshan was a skilled Hunter, but he didn't have a pet. He could barely keep himself alive, let alone have the money to feed another mouth.
In the simple inn, they laid out a map and began to discuss their plans.
"We can travel by water – it'll save us a lot of trouble and take us straight to the destination."
"We'll need a ship," Keeshan said as he turned to Lu Li.
"I'll sort that out," Lu Li nodded. He knew that these NPCs were broke, so he had to pay for this out of his own pocket.
"We'll set foot on land from the east shore of Lake Thresher. Then, all we have to do is to destroy their base, Stonewatch."
"There are countless Blackrock Tauren inside and the Gnoll army are staying there too. Apparently, there are other unknown enemies as well," Lu Li said, trying to share all the information that he knew.
"We can use bombs to destroy this base. I'm sure that damned Solomon would be willing to donate the Seaforium Bombs that he has been stocking," Keeshan suggested.
Lu Li's saliva almost drooled out of his mouth.
These were the Seaforium Bombs that only the military forces had. If he could get his hands on a few of them and have someone figure out the recipe, that would be perfect. Although the power and stability of these Seaforium Bombs wasn't as great as the Ivy bombs, they were enough to destroy buildings.
Moreover, these Seaforium Bombs also dealt extra damage to Tauren. The poisonous salt in the bombs even stopped their powerful regeneration ability.
"There's no way Solomon would give us Seaforium Bombs," Jorgensen said angrily.
"He will, because he still needs us to protect Lakeshire," Lu Li responded, causing the room to erupt in laughter.
