“We’re out of bombs. I was having too much fun and didn’t account for the ammo,” Sakura Memories said.
Everyone was speechless and Lu Li sighed, signaling everyone to forfeit because they would get wiped anyway. The Boss still had a third of its HP and the side mobs were enough to stomp over the entire team.
Lu Li patiently taught Sakura Memories about the cannon timing and angles while explaining to Wandering the best way to round up the monsters to maximize the use of cannon bombs.
After gathering themselves again, Lu Li started the Boss fight.
This was their third attempt at Cannon Master Willey. At this point, there weren’t many concerns besides dealing with the side monsters without letting them get out of hand.
“Why do you disturb us when we’re about to defeat the Scourge?” Cannon Master Willey asked in confusion.
He had no idea that he was already dead and was living in a dream that the Dreadlord Balnazzar had created for him. In his dream, the Scarlet Crusaders were in a midst of a tough battle and were about to defeat the Scourge army. They had to take back all the land that they had lost and reclaim the glory that Lordaeron once had.
“Why can’t I see the lilies of Stratholme? This question always bothered me, but maybe I won’t have to worry about it anymore.”
Cannon Master Willey may have already realized all the problems of the virtual world that he cannot escape. The Dreadlord Balnazzar had not been considerate enough to put his favourite Stratholme Lilies into his dream. However, there was nothing that Willey could do and the sadness he felt could be seen on his expression.
He was willing to accept his death rather than to live a life of lies made up by his enemy.
He did not go into Berserk mode, but instead peacefully faced his temporary death.
He was a slave of the Dreadlord and would rise again even if he was defeated. After he rose again, his memories would be wiped and he would continue to question why the lilies were not blooming in Stratholme as the cycle repeated itself.
Their third attempt was finally successful and they defeated Cannon Master Willey.
The Experience was quite handsome since he was a Lv50 Boss, but he did not reward skill points.
“Dark Gold Mold for Shadowcraft Spaulders and it’s part of a set!” Remnant Dreams exclaimed as she passed the item to Lu Li and waited for him to praise her.
In reality, Lu Li wasn’t very interested in sets because it was too difficult to collect all eight pieces. He also had a lot of gear that he was wearing which would be hard for him to give up. However, if he did somehow manage to collect all the pieces, it would definitely be an upgrade.
He patted her on the head and rewarded her with 20 gold.
The second item was called a Cannonball Runner, and was a Trinket.
Classes that excelled at levelling up such as Mages, Warlocks and Hunters might not have thought that Cannonball Runner would be a useful item. It fired a cannon every 30 seconds, but it was much weaker than those used in the dungeon.
However, many were still interested in it because of cool the effect was when it triggered.
There was also a Warrior skill book which was given to Azure Sea Breeze.
The next Boss was Commander Malor.

Malor was a former battle commander of the Scarlet Crusade and was regarded as one of the most talented soldiers in their younger generations. Many people held high expectations for him and hoped that he could lead them to reclaim the lost cities of Lordaeron.
However, the Scarlet Crusade was eventually controlled by Dreadlord Balnazzar, so Malor never had the chance to grow up and live out his full potential.
Malor and a handful of other courageous Warriors risked everything to protect the Scarlet Bastion from being desecrated by the Undead. Tragically, they failed and Balnazzar corrupted the fearless commander into one of his servants, transforming him into a mockery of his former self.
He then became an Undead Boss and was regarded as the second-most difficult Boss in the entire dungeon. Only the final Boss Dreadlord Balnazzar was more of a challenge to defeat. The worst part was that Malor had terrible loot.
However, if he was not killed, the door to the Dreadlord would not open.
Malor was difficult to kill because he had too many skills. There were very few Bosses that had three or more large AOE skills.
If the players were higher level than him, the AOE skills would be easier to deal with because the damage would be split amongst them. However, when the Boss was a higher level than them, the AOE skill could easily wipe out multiple players at once.
Malor immediately casted Shadow Bolt Volley and missiles of dark magic began to rain down upon them.
The missiles covered almost the entire map and everyone had to chug potions to keep themselves alive.
A single wave of Shadow Bolt Volley took everyone’s HP down to at least half, with the Cloth-Armored Classes dropping down to 20%. If they were level 45 or lower, the entire party would have been wiped for sure.
Without Lu Li’s reminder, everyone began drinking potions to survive.
Not even a minute after, another wave of Dark Bolt Volley was casted and their HP bars immediately plummeted.
The short interval between the skills caused everyone to become terrified. Although they had healers that could heal them back up to full HP, at the current speed that Malor was casting his skills, it was impossible for their Mana pools to keep up.
Lu Li knew that everyone was about to give up and decided to give a few words of encouragement.
“Don’t worry – look at his MP bar.”
Commander Malor’s weakness was his low Mana pool. Although he casted his skills quite often, teams just needed to survive past the initial stages of the fight.
He could only cast Shadow Bolt Volley a maximum of four times, and Lu Li’s party was more than capable of surviving this.
When his Mana pool was completely empty, Commander Malor finally took a break.
Sakura Memory then casted Bloodlust and the entire team began dealing as much damage as they possibly could. Because Malor was out of Mana, Lu Li and Lonesome Flower did not have to hold back on their DPS or worry about drawing aggro.
After two minutes, Malor’s mana pool refilled and he began casting skills again. This time, instead of Shadow Bolt Volley, he use Ground Smash, leaping into the air and smashing his fist into the ground.
BANG! Lu Li and the others were sent flying due to the impact.
When they finally managed to get back on their feet, the Boss began chasing after Lu Li because he had been dealing the most DPS. In situations where Azure Sea Breeze didn’t have aggro, Lu Li was often the next target.
“Heal me,” Lu Li said as he successfully blocked the Boss’ hammer with his dagger.
While was able to block almost every single attack, he was quickly forced to an unfavorable position with his back against the wall.
