Chapter 22: Jean Vs Izumi Pt1

 "Your speed is incredible Jean, you truly are your fathers son."

Jean was in the middle of battling against Izumi which caused destruction to their surrounding area on the arena grounds.

"I'm just getting started!"

After receiving the large hole inside his stomach from Izumi's Gamma fist, Jean had finally healed the damage and absorbed it for more power.

"Whatever you use against me will only be turned against you, you know?"

Jean would swing his blade at Izumi, however he countered by using Flowing Water Rush.

"I can see that, you absorb everything I throw at you. Heheh, I'm sure if I even rewinded time against you, you'll just negate it from happening."

"How about you go ahead and try it?"

Jean egged on Izumi, they both were smiling in their own confidence.

Jean proceeded to concentrate his power in his feet and turned into a flash of light, accelerating towards Izumi faster than before.

"You can accelerate your speed—?"

Izumi was bewildered to see Jean's sudden growth in speed, and now took an slash across his stomach.

"GAH—!"

The Hero backed up some and realized the slash was infused with deadly poison.

"I see..."

Izumi coughed violently as he held his stomach in pain.

*Cough* *Cough*

"You can use anything at your disposal... how truly fearsome, you've even managed to use Turnop poison."

Elizabeth would glance at Grimhild.

"Grimhild... what's Turnop poison?"

"It's poison from the most deadliest plant known in Midgard. Just smelling the plant can kill someone fifty times over in the blink of an eye, and now Izumi is infected with it."

"W-Where do you find something like that at? Oh jeez..."

Elizabeth turned back to the battle a bit worried.

"Turnop poison is just one of the few poisons I can use. When I fused with my champion, I began to see everything in the universe, to the stars in sky, how many cells are in my body, to the death count in Midgard. I can see all of it..."

Izumi slouched over and coughed up blood.

"So you're telling me... you're omniscient...?"

Jean looked over at Izumi and raised his brow.

"Not only that, but I am Omnipresent across the entirety of Midgard. The entire universe exists inside of my body, that was my champions main ability; to see all, and manipulate all... and now I understand it also existed as all."

Izumi would close his eyes and take a deep breath.

"I can't beat you with using martial arts that involves around time, or any of the sorts… so I'll simply transcend it."

Izumi had stood back up as his legs shook violently from the poison.

"The Fist that transcends time and space..."

Jean's eyes would widen.

"That transcends... time and space? That's similar to Catastrophe magic—"

"....HAAAAA..."

Izumi threw a violent punch right towards Jean, surpassing both time and space in the process, which traveled back in time and countered Jean's attack with the poison, thus changing the effects of Izumi ever being affected. 

"His wound is healing...?"

Jean noticed Izumi's slash across his chest vanishing.

"How did you do that?"

Izumi's expression returned back to normal rather shaken up from agony.

"The Fist that transcends time and space; I simply attacked you in the past, and stopped your slash from ever reaching my body, therefore I was never affected by your attack."

Jean was too shocked to speak.

"Something like that exists... as an martial arts?"

Izumi had laughed.

"Kukuku, of course it does, however it took many years to master, even for me."

Izumi had got into his stance once more, leaving no openings in his position.

"It will take a lot more than that to defeat me."

Jean gripped his sword tightly.

"I guess I'll have to use everything I have. I'm glad you're my opponent, it allows me to show my full capabilities with my champion..."

Izumi snickered.

"I can say the same. I am fighting an literal walking universe after all; if I win this battle then that means even the universe is no match for my unrelenting fists!"

Jean once again would turn into a flash of light, appearing a few inches in front of Izumi.

"HAAAAAAAA!!!"

Jean yelled.

10 strikes

100 strikes

1,000 strikes

"HOOOOAAAAAHHHH!!!"

Izumi shouted.

100,000 strikes

1,000,000 strikes. They both clashed with each other's at intense speeds.

"I see. You're accelerating your speed with time manipulation!"

Izumi yelled as they clashed in battle.

"I CAN GO FOREVER!"

Jean responded, his blade moving in blurs to the point that fairies couldn't see the battle anymore.

1,000,000,000,000 strikes.

"...TAAAAA..."

Izumi shouted, finding an opening through their rapid clashing, and sending a fist into Jean's gut, however Jean would counter by opening a blackhole in a certain section of his body, sending Izumi's fist through it, and even dragging his body into the gravitational pull.

"A BLACKHOLE—?"

"I GOT YOU!"

Jean yelled in victory, and all the sudden Izumi would be pulled into the small blackhole, floating into an eternal abyss.

"OHHHHH~!?"

The fairies all gasped at the sight.

"Sensei Izumi..."

Elizabeth said under her voice, gripping her knees with her hands.

"Is it really over...?"

Grimhild looked at Elizabeth with a saddened look.

"Are you dead Sensei...? No. You can't be—"

Elizabeth began to tear up.

"I have limitless energy, I should be able to fight the rest of the contestants with relative ease with my champion Fusion…"

Jean had said, now sticking his sword into the ground.

"I'm sorry you had to go that way Izumi Ryuu... you were a very strong opponent."

*KABOOM*

"...Huh?"

Jean heard a loud explosion behind him, and all the sudden noticed Izumi was in the arena once more.

"H-How did you get here...? I sent you across the entire universe in a blackhole."

Jean was in genuine shock, his eyes speaking for themselves.

"That was a close one, I could've been a goner."

Izumi dusted himself off as one leg was coated in ice, and the other in fire.

"Have you forgotten? The fist that transcends time and space is in my disposal. As I said Jean, it will take more than that to defeat me."

Fhiron tapped his foot on the floor in suspense.

"This guy is a monster... are all heroes this strong?"

Kyto looked at Fhiron who spoke to himself.

"I suppose they are King Fhiron... we may be seeing the full strength of an Yggdrasil Hero."

Fhiron nodded his head.

"Indeed, there is no doubt in my mind that Izumi is using his full power."

Jean would grab the handle of his blade from the ground once more.

"Heheheh, What will it take to beat you?"

Jean's laughed out loud to his own comment, unable to help it.

"Fumu. I am not sure Jean, I was never pushed to this level before, so even I cannot give you the answer to that."

Jean tilted his head down.

"Alright then... I guess I'll use everything at its maximum. Are you ready Sir Izumi?"

"I'm always ready for a fight."

Izumi stood up straight and placed an arm behind his back, whilst the other hoisted itself up in front of him.

"Come."

Izumi would say. Now Jean took the initiative to go back into battle, however he changed strategy.

"Hoh?"

Izumi's eyebrows perked up.

"I gotta find a different way to approach him!"

Jean said to himself, as he ran in circles around the Arena, creating a large dust storm which blocked the Audiences view.

"Hey we can't see anything! Isn't this a violation of the rules?"

One of the fairies shouted.

"So you are creating a smoke screen in order to find a way to attack me? This may be one of the cliche ways of tricking your enemies. Sadly it will not work on me."

Izumi would raise his leg.

"...HAA...!"

Izumi sent a kick towards the dust storm around him, dispersing it instantly.

"Hm?"

However after the cloud of dust dispersed, Jean was nowhere to be found.

"He disappeared?"

Izumi quickly looked around him and focused his sixth sense to map out his opponent.

"Even with my sixth sense I cannot find him..."

He turned around to hear footsteps, but no one was behind him.

"I can see opponents across other dimensions, even invisible attackers, yet—"

Another set of footsteps were heard running in front of him.

"There?"

He turned back around to see no one.

"How...? Where are you Jean..."

The crowd of fairies watched closely as they were confused as well.

"Grimhild, where is Jean? I can't see anything..."

Elizabeth said, holding her hand above her eyes to block out the sun.

"I'm afraid I don't know. Even I am unable to locate Jeans presence... but from assumption, he is running in an Two dimensional plane, where we three dimensional beings cannot comprehend. That's just the ability of the champion of dimensions"

"...This may be troublesome if I don't find him quickly."

Izumi heard another set of footsteps at the side of him which forced him to look in its direction, however—

"DIMENSION LOCK V1!"

"...DAMNIT—"

Izumi was tricked, and Jean was actually on his other side. Izumi heard Jean yell his next attack which managed to catch him by surprise.

"HELL YEAH! GO JEAN!!!"

Fhiron stood up and shouted, cheering Jean on.

"THAT'S THE SAME ABILITY YOU USED ON MY ATTACK, THERE'S NO WAY HE'S ESCAPING NOW!"

Fhiron yelled in excitement which made Grimhild and the others look at him, however he didn't care.

"SHOW EM HELL JEAN!"

Izumi could realize his body was frozen inside of this... dimension lock; the dimension lock was able to create a literal lock that forms around the opponent, being made out of a separate mini dimension transmuted into that shape. It seals off the opponents' physical strength, and only gets stronger if they apply more to get out. This was a perfect counter to the martial artist.

"It seems I'm stuck..."

Jean stood there huffing.

"...Phew... looks like I actually did it..."

He chuckled to himself.
