Chapter 42: Battle between Witches

"...Awww man, why do we have to go to Mesnil? I was looking forward to fighting the one who trapped Kyto!" (Elizabeth)

"Grimhild says that Estrilda needs our help, so it's best we give her much aid as she needs." (Jean)

"Pippy don't wanna help, Pippy is sad!" (Pippy)

"It's alright Pippy, you just don't know how to use it yet, that's all it is." (Elizabeth)

Elizabeth rubbed Pippy's head with her finger.

"Yeah, I have to admit... I had a little bit more faith in you Pippy." (Fhiron)

"What you say?" (Pippy)

Pippy stood up and turned to face Fhiron.

"Say that to Pippy's face Mr Elf King!" (Pippy)

"Well I'm being honest with you. The fact you have such an powerful ability yet don't know how to use it is crazy to me." (Fhiron)

"I can't use my chronicles! It only happens when Pippy is super super mad!" (Pippy)

"Huh? You're telling me you aren't mad about Kyto being locked away in some cocoon of darkness, fighting for his life?" (Fhiron)

"Nope! Grimhild said that Kyto stood a chance, meaning Pippy didn't have to get really mad!" (Pippy)

"Well... touché." (Fhiron)

Jean walked ahead of them, holding his arms behind his head.

"Something feels off..." (Jean)

They all looked at Jean with an curious expression.

"What is it—" (Elizabeth)

Liz was cut off from speaking soon as they heard an loud explosion behind him.

"Woah! What was that?" (Elizabeth)

They all looked behind them to see an mushroom cloud caused by an devastating explosion.

"That's a lot of mana put into a spell to make an explosion that huge!" (Elizabeth)

"...It must be from Grimhild." (Fhiron)

Fhiron had a stern expression on his face.

"...Let's leave this to her, and help Estrilda." (Fhiron)

In the sky was two powerful beings clashing with their magical spells. From up above it seemed like fireworks, but instead, all the beautiful colors were caused by hundreds of spells being casted in seconds.

"Fire Magic: Blazing Cinder!" (Grimhild)

Underneath Agnes appeared a large magical circle before fire shot from underneath it.

"Spatial Magic: Redirect!" (Agnes)

An spatial gate opened over the magical circle and sent the fire into outer space, beyond Midgard.

"Ice Magic: Lance of Poseidon!" (Grimhild)

Cold wind blew in the sky, and created an icicle lance above Grimhild, being large, and taller than that of a mountain.

"...HAAAA...!" (Grimhild)

She launched the lance of Poseidon at tremendous speeds.

"Barrier Magic: Shield of Asgard!" (Agnes)

A large and majestic shield formed in front of Agnes, blocking the ice lance.

"I got you!" (Grimhild)

Grimhild would raise her staff at the ice lance.

"Ice Magic: Seal Formation!" (Grimhild)

The ice lance suddenly expanded and wrapped around the shield, and Agnes.

"...What?" (Agnes)

"Now! Lightning Magic: Storm of Terror!" (Grimhild)

She risen her staff into the sky and had the clouds above her swirl around violently. Lightning rained from the sky and struck nearby mountain terrains and even the kingdom down below. 

"...This Ice Seal cannot be broken... it's seal magic fused with ice magic! Damn that Grimhild!" (Agnes)

Above Agnes formed a swirl of clouds, eventually covering the ice seal, and trapping Agnes inside of it.

"...Taaaaaa...!!!" (Grimhild)

Grimhild shouted as she pointed her staff at the swirl of clouds, having intense lightning zap inside of it, and effect the Ice Seal as well.

"...Gnaaaaaa...!!!" (Agnes)

Agnes shouted in pain as the lightning fused with the ice seal, and water droplets inside of it, electrifying her inside.

"...DAMN... YOU!" (Agnes)

"I'm sorry Agnes, but you need to be put away for your crimes on hurting my friend. Justice is around the corner for you." (Grimhild)

The swirl of lightning eventually gotten worse than before, increasing its voltage by billions.

"...Ah....agh....." (Agnes)

Agnes was paralyzed as the lightning eventually stopped, and the dark gray clouds faded away. The Ice seal was shown slowly melting from Grimhild removing it.

"I...c-can't... move...." (Agnes)

Grimhild pointed her staff, Nightingale, at Agnes.

"I'll end you with Catastrophe Magic." (Grimhild)

The tip of nightingale began to glow.

"I'll amplify my Catastrophe spell by thousands of times." (Grimhild)

"...Impossible... are you amplifying your Catastrophe Magic...? No one can do such a thing... it's already powerful as is!" (Agnes)

"Nothing is impossible for Nightingale." (Grimhild)

The ancient letters in the staff would now glow green.

"I've been saving this magic just for you, Agnes." (Grimhild)

Grimhild smirked.

"Catastrophe Magic: The Last Epoch!" (Grimhild)

"...Damnit!" (Agnes)

Agnes would have darkness surround her feet, slowly floating into the air around her.

"Invincible Lord, Shoggoth!"

Agnes used her Eldritch Magic, becoming invulnerable to all harm.

"Your catastrophe magic won't defeat me!" (Agnes)

Agnes was surrounded by a transparent layer of darkness, and now Grimhild released an wave of mana at The Eldritch Witch.

"That won't work! Becoming invulnerable is a foolish decision, Agnes!" (Grimhild)

The wave of mana eventually closed distance towards Agnes and covered the Eldritch witch. She was surrounded by the wave of mana, seeing her thin layer of darkness slowly break.

"No... no! I won't lose like this... not like this! Eldritch Magic should be superior to Catastrophe Magic! This is impossible!" (Agnes)

"You're right Agnes, Eldritch magic is superior, however I amplified the spell with nightingale by thousands of times. You will now meet your end." (Grimhild)

It didn't matter if Agnes casted thousands of invulnerable barriers, having each one be superior than the other. Grimhild would simply just amplify her spell over the thousands, and into the millions. Nightingale was far too powerful.

"...GYAAAAAAAAAA...!!!" (Agnes)

Agnes had her invulnerable barrier break apart, and swoop her inside the wave of mana, destroying her molecules, DNA, and even her entire history.

"...Everything up until my birth... it's being eradicated from The Final Epoch."

Agnes tried to surround herself in another thin layer of darkness, but it was destroyed in a second.

"My history... my entire life, even my mana force. All of it will cease to exist! Why must I die like this?!" (Agnes)

Grimhild would amplify the wave of mana even more.

"...Haaaaaaaaa...!!!" (Grimhild)

"I must... separate my Mana force... ughhhh!!!" (Agnes)

Agnes screamed in pain as her body and soul slowly started to disappear from existence.

"I have one last chance!" (Agnes)

Agnes would use the rest of her mana, casting hundreds of invulnerable barriers. 

"Now!" (Agnes)

She quickly took the chance to separate her mana force from her physical body, and outside the wave of mana. The barriers eventually broke apart in seconds, showing Agnes' mana force fly away in distance. 

"My physical body and soul has been destroyed from history... but if my mana force is still alive, I can simply create a new one!" (Agnes)

Her mana force was red, showing that it was of evil nature. It eventually left the area without Grimhild knowing, giving the witch of Justice victory.

"It's over Agnes." (Grimhild)

Grimhild's glowing red eyes eventually faded away; her seal slowly constructed itself again and kept her strength sealed away, stripping her from using anymore of her power.

"...Kyto should be unconscious after being affected by an unsealed witches spell. I need to heal him quickly."

Grimhild slowly flew to the ground below her from using gravity magic. Now landing on her feet. She walked back to the castle and approached Kyto.

"...Kyto, you fought well." (Grimhild)

Grimhild walked towards Kyto, and kneeled down, placing her small hand upon his back.

"You've fought against a witch after all, you should be happy for such a feat!" (Grimhild)

Grimhild snickered, proceeding to heal Kyto's wounds.

"Healing Magic: Mending Causality!" (Grimhild)

Using an specific healing spell, she reversed cause and effect, and in return healing Kyto's wounds slowly, but surely.

"You should be conscious in about an hour or so. After being hit by an spell from a witch is the most dangerous thing, but luckily you're half God. The god side of you will lessen the after-effects of being unconscious for eternity." (Grimhild)

Grimhild stood up again and slowly lifted Kyto off the ground by telekinesis, and placed him in Vrunemir's throne.

"I'm glad the battle didn't last too long. If we fought any longer then Vrunemir Nation would've been destroyed." (Grimhild)

Vrunemir nation was an large nation, at least being the size of a continent. Destroying such a place would have an everlasting effect on everyone. After all they had great resources to trade with other nations, and was perfect for tourism. It'll effect a lot of other nations and their benefits.

"King Vrunemir has suffered defeat from Agnes as well... but sadly once you're killed by an witch, revival and any type of resurrection is impossible. I'm sorry king Vrunemir..." (Grimhild)

Grimhild closed her eyes.

"If only I broke my first seal then I could've saved you. But that'll be risking my identity, showing my friends that I'm a witch. I cannot have that happening. At least not now." (Grimhild)

Grimhild turned around to face outside the castle doors, noticing the dark storm still outside.

"I must stay with Kyto for the time being, so I hope everyone else can deal with the other enemy." (Grimhild)
