Chapter 70: End of War

After the events of Nokitera, his body would collide to the ground knocking him unconscious once Orcus disembarked from his mana force and was cleansed from Fhiron's Light & Gold Magic.

Fhiron's armor slowly disappeared around his body. The beautiful gold and bright colors faded away, returning back to the jewelry around his body.

"It's over Nokitera, you've lost this battle…" (Fhiron)

Nokitera would slowly wake back up, looking up at the enemy who defeated him. He could barely move a muscle… and only grovel in front of his enemy, weakened to such an state where recovery seemed impossible.

"I lost… even with the power of the mighty Orcus? I refuse to believe this… I refuse! I cannot be defeated like this! Not by you!" (Nokitera)

Nokitera had barely any mana left inside his body as he slammed his fists down into the ground, causing cracks to appear throughout the area.

"I won't let you do anymore harm!" (Jean)

Jean would stand back up slowly, dashing over towards Nokitera as he summoned Ebony.

"Dimensional lock!" (Jean)

Ebony punched forward and locked Nokitera inside an dimensional prison, preventing him from ever breaking free.

"…We defeated you… together!" (Jean)

Jean took a deep breath as he slowly fell back down on his butt, sighing to himself.

"Master Jean… are you alright?" (Estrilda)

An weakened Estrilda was heard as she glanced at her master.

"…Yes, I'm fine. It's finally over now… the world can rest at peace until everything's returned to normal…" (Jean)

Fhiron approached Estrilda as she laid on her back, now holding out his hands.

"Lay still…" (Fhiron)

Fhiron held out his hands as light particles emitted from his palms. Estrilda would slowly feel her wound start to heal despite having her regeneration tampered with by the power of Orcus.

"…I'm being healed?" (Estrilda)

"That's right. Did you think I wouldn't have the power to heal you despite me beating Orcus? Hahaha!" (Fhiron)

Fhiron laughed in a prideful manner as the elf king, finally returning Estrilda back to her prime.

"Fhiron, you saved us!!!" (Elizabeth)

Elizabeth stumbled as she stood up, running over to Fhiron to hug him tightly as she pulled him inwards.

"You saved our lives! I knew I could rely on you!" (Elizabeth)

Liz smiled brightly, causing the Elf king to do the same as he hugged around her chest.

"Of course, I wouldn't let my friends die… not again. Not when I have the power to protect them from harm…" (Fhiron)

He closed his eyes and remembered Beowulf… his great friend. It pained him that he couldn't save him, but now he had the magic capable of doing so for his new friends.

"….Is everything… handled? Pippy feels tired…" (Pippy)

Elizabeth heard Pippy which made her unwrap her arms from Fhiron and turn around.

"Pippy, you're finally up! You were knocked unconscious, I was so worried about you!" (Elizabeth)

Liz quickly ran towards Pippy, crouching down to pick his small body up from the ground. She cuddled him, pushing him close into her cheek.

"You did the most Pippy! Using almost all your magic just to protect us… thank you so much!" (Elizabeth)

Pippy felt his cheeks turning red once Elizabeth held him close.

"I-It was nothing! Pippy simply created an forcefield to protect his friends!" (Pippy)

"MASTER JEAN, I WAS BEATEN HALFWAY TO DEATH IF I DIDNT HAVE MY IMMORTALITY! DO YOU THINK YOU CAN DO THE SAME TO ME?! DO YOU THINK YOU CAN BRUTALLY THRASH ME?" (Estrilda)

"E-EHH? WHAT?" (Jean)

"PLEASE MASTER!" (Estrilda)

"Where the heck is all this energy coming from?! And no! No way I'm doing all of that!" (Jean)

"Well looks like things are back to the way it was." (Fhiron)

Fhiron nodded his head and chuckled, now turning to face Nokitera on the ground.

"…I… give up…" (Nokitera)

"Huh?" (Fhiron)

Everyone stopped what they were doing, facing Nokitera on the ground, and seeing his face of defeat.

Nokitera sat up slowly, sitting inside the dimensional lock he was stuck inside.

"I gave my word to Lord Dracula that I would win this war… and I promised him my life. I swore everything I loved to him… that I would win, and yet-" (Nokitera)

He looked down, gripping his balled up fist with the other hand.

"Yet I failed him… even Lord Orcus!" (Nokitera)

The expression he made was that of a man's pride that's been broken. He no longer had the will to live, Nokitera was only in pain, and sadness.

"So it's true, the Dark Nations entire purpose is to unseal Orcus, and bring Armageddon to Yggdrasil once again." (Fhiron)

"…Yes… our Lord Dracula has been planning this for ages. He is an man who only wants power and nothing else, but he shows love and devotion to his people as well. He has conquered many, even the Primordial Void, Ginnungagap." (Fhiron)

Fhiron nodded his head.

"To even conquer such a thing is impressive… that void was created to be an prison for the gods who went rogue, disobeying the laws of Everland." (Fhiron)

Nokitera looked up at Fhiron, his expression still weary.

"…Yet you managed to destroy it, turning that void into pure golden light?" (Nokitera)

"Hmph. I've only conquered it for a moment, the void itself will return back to normal soon. My golden magic doesn't last forever… at least not yet." (Fhiron)

"…I see…" (Nokitera)

Nokitera would sigh to himself, now taking a deep breath.

"I will die anyways from breaking my promise to lord Dracula, so I will tell you all this. My lord plans to awaken Orcus for his own desire and no one else's. He will use Orcus to destroy everything so that he can take over as ruler of Yggdrasil, and restart everything in his name only. We were destined to be excluded from his restart of the world, but even I have my doubts…" (Nokitera)

"You're a puny small man. If you have your doubts then why do you stay serving such an ruler?" (Estrilda)

Nokitera glanced at Estrilda.

"I told you that he loves his people as well, that's why I stayed. An ruler who shows love to his kingdom and to his people is someone that deserves to be served! Even if I had my doubts, I will gladly die for anything Lord Dracula has planned for us." (Nokitera)

"…So I'm assuming you dark mages get your magic from the Primordial Void, Ginnungagap. No wonder why the dark nation is so feared… they obtain power from an higher dimensional energy source, allowing them to create some unthinkable magic." (Fhiron)

Nokitera scoffed as he crossed his arms.

"I expect nothing less from the Elf King. You think fast and put pieces together quickly… but yes, that is why we're one of the most feared nations among Midgard to this day." (Nokitera)

Nokitera returned to his regretful look, closing his eyes.

"…Starting now… this war is over. I will return my men back to the dark nation." (Nokitera)

Everyone looked at Nokitera with wide eyes, hearing the final good news of today.

"You mean it? Are you truly retreating back to the Dark Nation, and away from Mesnil Nation?!" (Elizabeth)

"Yes… I will retreat back with my men. I of course do not lie… because even if I did, you all will have the power to kill me after all." (Nokitera)

Fhiron snickered.

"Well Nokitera, you got my trust only for this moment! Let's get this whole situation cleared up so everyone can stop hating on each other already." (Fhiron)

"Yes. Let's do it now, so we can retreat…" (Nokitera)

"I'm afraid retreating right now is impossible…" (Jean)

"What do you mean?" (Nokitera)

"The entire realm of Midgard is unstable… the only reason we survive right now is because of orb keeping us alive. But the others are safe too back by the Mesnil border. Fhiron kept them inside an magical barrier to prevent the changes of the world from interfering with them." (Jean)

Nokitera realized almost instantly to what Jean meant.

"I suppose you're right… this entire situation is all my fault after all, isn't it? The only reason I'm alive right now is because I'm the one who caused this chaos… or it's from Orcus…" (Nokitera)

"Let's not make theories right now. Let's return to where everyone else is so we can group up and wait till this entire situation is fixed." (Fhiron)
