Chapter 77: From Dream to Reality

"What is the goddess of dreams doing working with Beatrice? Are you brainwashed by her antics?" (William)

Morpheus placed her hand onto her hip as she chuckled to herself.

"You foolish boy, William. Who wouldn't take the opportunity to work with Beatrice? She's an Great Witch. I am honored to be working with her, and doing her bidding." (Morpheus)

"An great witch? Never have I heard of that term before..." (Astoria)

"You humans don't even believe in witches, so it's natural you would never hear of the term "Great Witch". But I can tell you, it's something I would kill for..." (Morpheus)

"Well? Why don't you explain it...? It must be so good if a god themself throws away her own pride to be working for a witch." (Astoria)

"Well my dear Astoria, even the witches have their own hierarchy. The lowest ranking witches are known as the Sealed Kind, they are witches who have yet to unlock all ten of their seals, and are deemed inferior to the other witches. The second highest a witch can become are called the Great Witches, like Beatrice herself. The Great Witches are the ones who unlocked all their seals, becoming superior to all other witches. And last but not least is a True Witch, like the ruler of witches Lady Maleficent. Reaching that rank is impossible as its only bound to her." (Morpheus)

Morpheus closed her eyes and frowned to herself.

"We gods have our own hierarchy if you all know... the lowest rank are just called gods while the second ranks are known as Supreme Gods, and the last one is known as True Gods which only Lady Everland is bound too. Sadly I'm only a god... thus I'm deemed inferior to Beatrice. That's why it's great to work with her! She's much better than Lady Everland and she is loyal to her followers!" (Morpheus)

William held D'arc in one hand before frowning.

"....Even then, you throw away your pride to work for such an powerful witch rather your own creator. If anything, I only see you as a traitor Morpheus, how unforgivable!" (William)

Morpheus frowned as she clenched her fist, having an aura surround her body.

"WHAT DID YOU SAY TO ME?! WATCH HOW YOU SPEAK TO A GOD!!!" (Morpheus)

Morpheus risen her hand and pushed away William with a simple gesture of her palm, sending him through multiple pillars in the castle.

"WILLIAM!" (Astoria)

Astoria's Kyokogen activated which slowed down her perception of time, while simultaneously increasing her speed. She quickly ran towards William and caught him, sending them both tumbling to the ground as they recovered quickly.

"You have not witnessed the power of a Gods Authority! Allow me to show you true terror!" (Morpheus)

She held her arms into the air and laughed maniacally. Her voice echoed through the castle as the sound of ghoulish creatures came about... being summoned from thin air.

"...Those creatures... I-I seen them from my dreams?!" (Astoria)

Both William and Astoria widened their eyes in shock as they held their Conceptual weapons.

"Yes! That's correct! With my authority as a god, I can summon anything you peasants dream of! I am the ruler of all dreams! All dreams are under my command! I embody all dreams! EVERYTHING YOU EVER DREAMT OF BELONGS TO MEEEEE!!!" (Morpheus)

The castle suddenly rumbled as she praised herself in such an enticing voice. They looked and saw the ground under Morpheus crack and split open, revealing an Eldritch abomination protrude forward. Morpheus stood on its head as it made its way from the ground, spewing acid at the two heroes.

"WATCH OUT!" (Astoria)

Astoria held up her shield and casted an protective barrier around them, denying logic once again, and destroying the acid once it collided into her forcefield.

"KYAAAHAHAHAHA! YOUR DREAMS IS WHAT GIVES ME POWER!" (Morpheus)

Morpheus held up her hand and nullified Astoria's barrier.

"W-What happened?" (Astoria)

The Kyoko was confused with a look of terror on her face.

"You dreamed of losing your powers before, thus I used that dream and brought it into reality! You now have no power! You lack it all... even your pathetic Kyokogen!" (Morpheus)

Astoria placed her hand onto her forehead, realizing she couldn't even use her Kyokogen anymore. Her conceptual weapon didn't even work...

"No way... that's impossible...? I don't remember dreaming of that... it can't be..." (Astoria)

"OHHH BUT YOU DID! You humans always forget your dreams after all! Don't worry dear, it's only normal!" (Morpheus)

Astoria closed her eyes... gently clenching her fist.

"...I lost my powers...?" (Astoria)

"ASTORIA, STAND BACK! Let me handle this quickly!" (William)

William stood in front of Astoria with his conceptual weapon, prepared to die if he has to.

"I wont let you lay a finger on her Morpheus! Not over my dead body..." (William)

"William, no!" (Astoria)

"Not over your dead body you say? Fufufu... how cute. In your dreams you've died many times William, it would be sad if they became reality, no? Perhaps by decapitation... or, a spear through the heart? Maybe you should die by that one dream where you drowned in a river?" (Morpheus)

William clenched D'arc tightly in his hand, prepared to accept his death if it meant protecting Astoria.

"I'll gladly accept death if it means protecting Astoria!" (William)

Morpheus suddenly smirked, having this evil grin come out of nowhere.

Morpheus once again made dreams become reality from her authority, forcing William to do what he's dreamt in the past.

"...ASTORIA... RUN!" (William)

William slowly turned around, holding back his weapon to not attack his close friend.

"William... fight it! Fight her authority William, I believe in you!" (Astoria)

"...ASTORIA NO! RUN... AWAY!" (William)

William turned around, swinging his blade at Astoria, but just in enough time she managed to block with her shield.

"No...! I will never leave you William, not even when your mind controlled! We've been friends ever since we were children... NOWS NOT THE TIME TO LEAVE YOU BEHIND!" (Astoria)

"ASTORIA... YOU IDIOT!" (William)

William risen his blade into the air again, swinging overhead.

"...HAAA!" (Astoria)

Astoria managed to block his attack again but the force from it sent her to her knees.

"....N-Nghhh...." (Astoria)

"Astoria... you must... go... I cannot control myself! This is no time to be STUBBORN ASTORIA! RUN AWAY!" (William)

William shouted with all his might, having little to no hope in stopping himself with simple willpower.

"NO WILLIAM, I WONT LEAVE YOU, EVEN IN THE FACE OF DANGER!!!" (Astoria)

"STOP THIS MORPHEUS, I SWEAR I'LL KILL YOU! IF YOU MAKE ME DO THIS, YOU'LL NEVER SEE THE LIGHT OF ASGARD AGAIN!" (William)

"Say goodbye to your beloved friend William..." (Morpheus)

"STOP THIS... MORPHEUSSSSS!!!" (William)

"....William... do not blame yourself... you gave it your all, and I'm proud of you more than ever." (Astoria)

"ASTORIA, MOVE!" (William)

Astoria closed her eyes as a tear streamed down her face, and a small giggle escaped from her mouth. William risen his weapon into the air again... preparing to kill Astoria.

"That's right, finish her off." (Morpheus)

Morpheus walked from the Grotesque creature, approaching William with a smirk on her face.

"Let me see her blood spill as your face fills with terror William. Kuhuhuhu... KAHAHAHAHAHA!" (Morpheus)

Morpheus stood next to William, placing her hand onto his shoulder, and whispering into his ears.

"Go for the head... and split her clean in half..." (Morpheus)

"YOU MONSTER! DAMNIT... NOOO!!!" (William)

William swung down his blade. Blood splattered across the ground as his blade marked its target, gushing out blood everywhere. It was a gruesome sight to behold... and an unpredictable one at that—

"...Guh... ugh... impossible...I...I thought... that... I had you under my command...?" (Morpheus)

Morpheus was shown with D'arc pierced through her chest as blood dripped from her mouth, spilling onto the floor below.

"You believed to have us under your authority? We didn't come unprepared! If we traveled far and wide to meet Beatrice herself, you think we would fall to the likes of you!?" (William)

William held D'arc in his hand, tugging it back out as he risen it into the air, preparing to deliver for final blow.

"....I was tricked! I can't lose like this...! It's impossible...! Not by you worthless mortals!" (Morpheus)

"When a god dies, their authority disappears with them, unbalancing world and its laws... however that's not the case when your kind is killed with a conceptual weapon!" (William)

William slashed downwards, cutting Morpheus into two.

"WHO DO YOU THINK WE ARE!? YOU WENT UP AGAINST THE KNIGHTS OF FEEROTA KINGDOM!" (William)

Morpheus screamed as her body was sliced down the middle, slowly being disintegrated into nothingness.

"...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! LADY BEATRICEEEEEEEE!!!" (Morpheus)
