Chapter 79: The Witch of Calamity

Leelee and the group walked through the vast and long hallway until they came across the exit into the final floor where Beatrice existed. They all were worried, however Yumi shown to be quite confident rather worried of the situation at hand.

"…I think I see a door?" (Leelee)

They all looked at the princess until their gaze turned to face the door across the dark hallway, seeing the outline of a brown door.

"I suppose we made it to the end…" (Yumi)

Leelee nodded her head and was the first to approach the door ahead of her. She looked left and right for traps, making sure she wouldn't get caught in some misshapen. Once she approached the door, she reached forward to slowly turn the knob… hearing the wooden door creak.

"…Here goes nothing…" (Leelee)

Leelee opened the door and a bright flashing light illuminated from the inside, blinding everyone as it lit up the dark hallway.

"What's that flashing light?" (Astoria)

"…Tsk… I can't see anything." (William)

Even though they were all blinded, they still carried forward, eventually making it to the exit. Leelee was the first to go inside as they followed behind the princess in haste.

"…So you all finally managed to beat the floors of my tower, and even killed my dear Morpheus. I must say, I am truly impressed by all of your strength." (Beatrice)

Once they entered the room the blinding light disappeared as they teleported to the final floor of the Chronos Tower. They were inside a large room the size of an courtyard, with Beatrice sitting in the middle of it on her chair. She wore a black witch hat on her head, with a crow on her shoulder. Her entire outfit was all black, and so was her hair, however her eyes remained red as they glistened.

"Beatrice…." (Leelee)

Leelee stood in front of Beatrice… holding her weapon in her hand, however she was shaking in her legs… scared to muster up words against the witch of calamity.

"…BEATRICEEEEEE!!!" (William)

William shouted in rage as he dashed towards the witch, holding his conceptual weapon inside his hand.

"I'll make you paaayyyy!!!" (William)

He jabbed his blade towards the Calamity witch as she sat in her chair, however he missed, and ended up falling to the floor, stabbing his weapon into the ground.

"What…?" (William)

Williams eyes widened as he tried pulling out his weapon from the floor… only to see it break in half.

"WHAT?! How is this… possible?" (William)

"You attacked me inside my own Chronos Tower. You truly are here for revenge aren't you, William?" (Beatrice)

"My… conceptual weapon… has been broken?" (William)

"Yes, indeed." (Beatrice)

Beatrice stood up from her seat, standing at the height of six feet. The crow on her shoulder began to cackle.

"Keeehehehehe! You tried attacking the Witch of Calamity! Doing so will put you in a endless cycles of calamities, and you'll never be able to touch her!" (Crow)

"…Put me in a endless cycles of calamities? But… a conceptual weapon is made to harm the likes of witches, how can it break?" (William)

"You foolish boy. The conceptual weapons can harm the sealed kind, not the Great Witches who broke all of their seals. You didn't research enough, William." (Beatrice)

"Beatrice! I've come here to not fight you, so please spare my friend William! He's just as angry as me and Astoria!" (Leelee)

Leelee stepped forward and placed her hand onto her chest.

"I've come here to ask of you… to restore the world back to its original state of being! Lady Arcana said that you were the only one in Midgard capable of doing this, so please…" (Leelee)

William clenched his fists in anger, knowing he couldn't defeat her without his weapon. He's traveled so far to slay the witch of calamity, only to see her easily manhandle him.

"And so she is right. I can restore the world back to normal. The destruction that was done is on a level where only a Great Witch, or Supreme God can only restore, so she doesn't lie to you. But…" (Beatrice)

Leelee risen her eyebrows.

"But what?" (Leelee)

"For me to enact this wish of yours, you will have to give me something in return." (Beatrice)

"I KNEW IT!" (Astoria)

Astoria gritted her teeth together and stomped forward, holding her hand to the side, in front of Leelee.

"I wont let you have Leelee! You can think again Witch of Calamity, you'll never obtain her when I'm here!" (Astoria)

"Hoh? Bold assumptions Astoria Kyoko. I wish for something else than just Leelee." (Beatrice)

"What?" (Astoria)

Beatrice cackled.

"Kukuku… I wish for the death of your father." (Beatrice)

"….The death of my father?" (Leelee)

"YOU BASTARD! BEATRICE, DAMN YOU!" (William)

William grunted in anger behind the witch.

"…I'll have to kill my dad…?" (Leelee)

The princess looked down in horror… imagining such a horrible thought. But she knew that she had no other choice, since the witch of calamity was a cruel one.

"…I… Can't…" (Leelee)

"You can't? Kukuku… KYAHAHAHA! I expected those words to come out of your mouth Leelee Vansbo! You lack the guts to do such a thing. The world will remain in its apocalyptic state for eternity, all because the princess of Feerota Kingdom couldn't kill her already sick and ill father." (Beatrice)

Yumi stepped forward and glanced over at Leelee.

"Lady Leelee… you said that your father is eternally sleeping, yes? From the curse of Beatrice, he is unable to walk or fight again, and those were his day to day things as a king. She's taken everything from him… he will never be the same again. Even if you find a solution to awaken him from his eternal slumber, he will not be able to do what he loves." (Yumi)

Leelee looked over at Yumi with wide eyes… and a tear streaming down one of them.

"If you kill him, you'll only be relieving him from his endless suffering." (Yumi)

"Hoh? So you know what eternal sleep does to someone when they're hit by the spell of an unsealed witch." (Beatrice)

"Yes. When a witch breaks any one of their seals in battle, and they hit someone that's not a witch with their spell, they'll be forced into eternal sleep, reliving an endless nightmare, unless they're a god." (Yumi)

"How do you know that? What witch relayed to you this information?" (Beatrice)

"Didn't you hear my name when we traveled through your Floors?" (Yumi)

Beatrice suddenly widened her eyes, remembering his last name.

"…Yumi… Yorgana? The son of the Yorgana family who's said to birth an genius witch. That explains why you're here." (Yumi)

Leelee looked down saddened… clenching her fists as she shook her head back and forth in denial.

"…So father is living in an endless nightmare… always scared and alone? That's what he's going through?" (Leelee)

Yumi stopped their conversation with Beatrice, turning to face Leelee. Astoria placed her hand on the princesses shoulder, leaning down to her face.

"Leelee… it's okay if you don't do it… we will understand…" (Astoria)

"I wish to not see my father suffer… I only want the best for him… therefore… Beatrice… kill my father in return to restore the world back to normal." (Leelee)

William and Astoria closed their eyes to her words, looking away in anguish.

"Fufufu… are you sure you wish to submit that wish of yours, Leelee?" (Beatrice)

"I, Leelee Vansbo, is ready to accept a great loss for a better cause." (Leelee)

"Very well. Your fathers death will be committed in order to return the world back to its original state. Your journey up until now has finally ended Leelee, and you will be known as a hero to the entire world. Congratulations…" (Beatrice)

Leelee angrily pointed her finger at the Witch of Calamity.

"AT LEAST TELL ME WHY! WHY DID YOU CURSE MY FATHER?! WHAT WAS YOUR REASON FOR THAT! I JUST CANT LEAVE WITHOUT AN EXPLANATION BEATRICE!" (Leelee)

Beatrice risen her eyebrows and slowly formed a grin.

"It's because your father got in my way, and stopped my plans. He was able to aid Siegfried greatly in the battle against Fafnir, ruining what I had planned… and making a fool out of me. He got what he deserved, and that was an endless nightmare for the rest of his life." (Beatrice)

"MY FATHER WAS DOING WHAT WAS RIGHT! YOU KILLED INNOCENTS FROM YOUR CONTROL OVER FAFNIR! YOUR PLANS DESERVED TO CRUMBLE BY HIS HANDS!" (Leelee)

Beatrice closed her eyes with her same grin, turning around to walk over to her chair, grabbing a book off of it.

"Say what you must child, I had my reasons. Now then, I will restore the world back together, and once this is over, the Chronos Tower will disappear from Midgard and appear in another realm of the 9. This will likely be the last time you ever see me." (Beatrice)

Leelee held in her anger and nodded her head.

"…I at least accomplished my goal… that's all that matters… I know father will be proud of me…" (Leelee)

"Yes… he will be proud of all of us Leelee…" (Astoria)

William looked down at his conceptual weapon… falling to his knees as he grabbed the broken parts.

"I failed you… King Feero…" (William)

"Ama doras duus, duus, duus! Reno cara, teeto sara duus, duus, duus! Brada neesa tara… DUUS, DUUS, DUUS!" (Beatrice)

Beatrice spoke in an ancient language as all of Midgard and the other realms of the 9 began to shake violently. Those who survived the aftermath of Nokitera were all feeling the world change… and concepts being restored back to normal. Life once again became life, and death once again became death. Hate became hate and love become love. Everything was restored.

Humanity would all come back from their deaths, as they looked around them confused. The dead all returned to their graves as they weren't living anymore. 

Everything became normal, thanks to the Heroes who traveled this far, sacrificing what they love for the better of the world. Their journey had now ended, with multiple broken hearts, and the smile of the calamity witch.
