Chapter 90: The Demon Within

Far far away from Mesnil Nation, the Dark Nation, and the Feerota Nation was a place known as the Rozenheart estate.

It was massive, and the family known as the Rozenheart's had owned over 50 kilometers of land. 

Inside their mansion known as the "Rozenheart Family Mansion" lied a girl on the ground with a bleeding lip, bruised eye, dislocated arm, and a wheezing voice as she barely could even breathe anymore.

"You're no daughter of mine." Said a tall woman who wore a dress, had white hair, and an dreadful aura coming from her body. She stared down at the broken and beaten girl on the floor who could barely even stand up anymore.

"…Leave him out of this mom! Give him back to me!" The beaten girl shouted at her mother, standing back up once more, however the mother replied in anger saying, "You care so much about this fairy that you'll even stand up against me? How disappointing."

This woman was known as Yuri Rozenheart, a mean and sadistic woman who always got her way no matter what she had to do, and currently she was beating her own daughter by the name of Elizabeth Rozenheart, who returned home to own up to her crimes from stealing their family ring in order to join the magic academy.

"It was a foolish decision for your little friend here to attack me with his fairy magic. Does he have no clue to who I am? What a ridiculous attempt to protect you from your beating. I suppose he can be some use as a servant, or perhaps maid for us Rozenhearts." Said Yuri as she slowly lifted up a bruised Pippy with her hand, holding him by his tiny wings. "Off to the side he goes." 

Yuri treated Pippy's body like trash, throwing him to the side and watching him flop on the ground, unable to move a single muscle saying, "Leave Elizabeth alone… there's no way you can be her mother, Pippy says as he struggles to get up…"

"Pippy, stay down… don't do anything else reckless! Please, my mother is powerful… just stay down and let me receive my punishment." Elizabeth cried, shouting at the harmed fairy on the ground who could barely even open his eyes from the pain.

"I must say, as a Non-Mana Born, you're quite the brave little pest. No one in this household loves you and your lack of mana, you make us look bad. You're no good example of an Rozenheart, perhaps staying away from us would be beneficial for our reputation, but then again, you do deserve your beating from being a thief."

Yuri walked over to Elizabeth, grabbing her by the hair and pulling her head back. "My first daughter, look at how much you changed overtime. You've even managed to make some friends who are brave enough to stand against me for what they believe is right, however bringing that friend to my home is simply an death wish." Yuri pointed her hand over towards Pippy, forming a sadistic smile on her face saying, "I'll show you what happens when you disrespect an Rozenheart, fairy."

Elizabeth eyes widened and she tried to stop her mother as she was forced to watch. Pippy couldn't move from the ground which given Yuri the advantage to eliminate him, by firing a spell from an magical circle created from her palm, launching an beam of light that evaporated anything it touched. 

"Guuuuaaaaa!" Pippy screamed as he felt himself being melted alive, and his flesh and skin slowly peeling away into nothingness. His bones had been reduced to ashes and even his soul was destroyed in the process with his physical body.

"No one can survive my Melting magic. It destroys anything it touches, even to the likes of an fairies immortality. What a poor soul, he died protecting what he loved, and that was my worthless daughter who's good for nothing." Yuri had said in a tone of anger, pulling Elizabeth's head back some more, and slapping her across the cheek.

"Now, head to your room and dress nicely, you have to meet with your father as well. I've already disciplined you, so do as I say or you'll be in even bigger trouble, worthless Non-Mana born." Yuri turned around and walked up their stairs. As of now they were inside the Entrance Hall of a massive mansion that stretched out for a mile.

"…You'll pay for that… mom…" Elizabeth had said in a menacing tone, causing the mother to turn around and raise her eyebrow.

"What did you say to me?" Yuri was angered from the back talk, causing her to raise her hand and cast another magical circle, launching a melting-beam of light at her daughter, and blasting it straight through her shoulder while shouting, "What did you say it me??!! You worthless child! I'll make sure you feel a unending pain from me! I'll melt your bones and watch you scream until you know your place inside this house!!"

Elizabeth didn't flinch from the pain, not even one bit. Despite having her entire shoulder blasted through from the melting-beam of light, she stood back up and clenched her fist saying, "You hurt Pippy… even going as far to kill him… I can't forgive you for that… I… can't… forgive you!" The air around Elizabeth would become ominous.

"What is this feeling?" Yuri mumbled, feeling an eerie aura emit from her daughter in front of her. The aura was dark and menacing, and felt like it wasn't from this world by any means, it was enough to instill fear inside the mother, causing her to stumble back a few feet. "…This power, it isn't Elizabeth's? It's from someone entirely different!? What are you? WHAT ARE YOU?" Yuri shouted.

Elizabeth's wounds slowly began to heal, her purple eyes became red, and two small horns would slowly form on her forehead. She looked up into the ceiling with her eye twitching, and her body spasming as she laughed maniacally, "Hahahahahahaha! Tahahahahaha!"

The mother would slowly stand back up seeing this, only to stumble back down again, on her butt. She crawled up the stairs, unable to stand up anymore from sheer fear, and praying, "Please gods help me! Help me, help me!!"

She tried to escape Elizabeth's mysterious awakening, however her leg was grabbed, and she was pulled back from her daughters strength, sliding on the floor as Elizabeth stepped on her chest, crushing it into the ground. "Guhhhh! Nrk…" Yuri mumbled in pain, feeling her entire body being crushed.

"What a worthless mother, causing your daughter to suffer through so much pain for the sake of just doing so. Did you have your fun? Was it great watching her suffer from the loss of her friend? How sad, she can't even return home to own up to her sins because her worthless mother doesn't wanna hear her out, and learn why she wanted to join the magic academy." The voice coming from Elizabeth was foreign, and not hers by any means.

"…Nguh… who are you? Where is Elizabeth?" Yuri asked, placing her hand around Elizabeth's ankle.

"I am a demon, and the last of my kind. I've been living in Elizabeth ever since she was a little girl, and I've grown to like her. Seeing the girl sad only makes me sad. I hated how she had to come back to this household to reunite with such a pathetic family such as this. Hah! It's almost comedy to believe she wouldn't be beaten." The demon would grind its feet back and forth into Yuri's stomach, chasing her to cough blood from her mouth.

"A demon…? Impossible… they were eradicated long ago… name and all!" Yuri said, feeling her rib cage break, and her spine to snap.

"Yes, they were. However as I said, I am the last of my kind, don't you understand you pitiful woman?" The demon arched her leg back, kicking it right underneath Yuri's chin which sent her rolling and tumbling against the ground, slamming into the stairs.

"…Agghh!!" Yuri shouted in pain as she landed against the stairs, feeling more blood leak from her mouth like a broken faucet. She laid on the stairs wheezing, feeling her body crippled and broken. "Why? Why can I not move…? My body feels paralyzed from fear. Is this the effects of a demon?" Yuri shouted blatantly. 

"Indeed. I feed off the collection of one's sins. The more evil you are, the stronger I become, and you're pure evil Miss Yuri." The demon approached the mother with a sinister grin, walking up the steps as it hovered over her, kicking her face once more.

"Cry for me. Show some tears as you know you'll be meeting with your ancestors in Valhalla!" The demon kicked her face once again, causing a tooth to fly from poor Yuri's mouth.

"Elizabeth!!" All the sudden a voice could be heard from behind the demon. An familiar voice. Slowly turning around, the demon and Elizabeth could see Pippy once again, restored after his injuries.

"Stop this, it isn't you Elizabeth! Whatever is happening to you, control it! Tame whatever is doing this to you." Pippy was now here to help. His death was only temporarily, he won't let Elizabeth be consumed by her hatred and rage.
