Chapter 214 - Uncle Zong: I regret saying what I did. (3)

Edited by: Lulu

She was sent to the production team at the age of 16, and they told others that she had volunteered for it. Obviously, it was a lie, but she had nobody to turn to.

She was pushed into a river the next year, and the captain’s son happened to see her struggling in the water and saved her. She was no longer ‘clean’ and was then forced to marry him. Later on, she was also coerced to have two children with him.

Her freedom had been restricted, and she was never allowed to step foot out of the production team. She was disgusted with her husband’s family and had moved back to the educated youth’s camp after she had given birth to two sons.

The veins popped on the back of Wen Rugui’s hand when she heard what she said. “I will need to talk to my friend about everything that you’ve just said. You have nothing to worry about, Comrade Jiang. My friend is the captain of the Criminal Investigation Team. He is trustworthy.”

Jiang Danhong looked over in Pu Jianyi’s direction, and she did not say anything else against Pu Jianyi this time.

Upon seeing that, Wen Rugui went over and told Pu Jianyi about her story.

After Wen Rugui finished recounting what had happened to Jiang Danhong, Pu Jianyi was so angry that he punched the tree next to him and said angrily, “Dang. I can’t believe there are monsters like him. No, even monsters will be insulted if I call him a monster. He is worse than a monster!”

Wen Rugui continued, “The captain of the Red Star Production Team was in it with Jiang Huarong. Our arrival had already tipped them off. I worry for Comrade Jiang’s safety if we leave her here.”

Pu Jianyi agreed. “You are right. We must bring her with us.”

But there were just the two of them. People living in harsh environments can be vicious. If they try to force their way out, they might all end up being stuck there.

As such, Wen Rugui said, “We need to get some outside help.”

His cousin-in-law was the magistrate of this county, although he did not inform him of his trip this time. Informing him would be like announcing his trip to his grandfather as well.

Nevertheless, given the situation, he had no other option but to ask for his help. There was no other way that he and Pu Jianyi would be able to take Jiang Danhong with them safely.

After Pu Jianyi had found out about his cousin-in-law, he thought about it some and sent him off. “Okay, you go. I will stay and protect Comrade Jiang.”

“Okay.”

Wen Rugui told Jiang Danhong of their decision.

Learning that she might be able to get out of that nightmare of a place on that very same day, tears immediately streamed down Jiang Danhong’s cheeks.

Wen Rugui hurried straight over to the county government to look for his cousin-in-law after he left the production team. He was lucky that his cousin-in-law was in his office.

After learning Jiang Danhong’s story, his cousin-in-law, albeit feeling that Wen Rugui had been too rash, still summoned a car to accompany Wen Rugui to the production team.

The captain of the Red Star Production Team felt uneasy since he had learned of Pu Jianyi’s identity.

He worried that something would go wrong and quickly phoned Jiang Huarong. However, he had placed three calls but still wasn’t able to get a hold of Jiang Huarong.

He hesitated about whether to take Jiang Danhong away secretly.

He regretted not acting on his thoughts shortly thereafter. Wen Rugui had returned with the county magistrate and was about to take Jiang Danhong with them.

The captain turned pale. He knew that her leaving the production team was bad news, but what could he do when faced with the county magistrate?

He suddenly had an idea and quickly had his son go and fetch his two grandsons. He was going to have them plead for their mother to stay behind.

Jiang Danhong was just about to get into the car when she saw her two sons running up to her.

Her older son Lin Jinbao held onto her left arm, his voice cracking as he said, “Mom, don’t go! Are you going to leave me and little brother behind?”

Her little son Lin Yinbao held onto her right arm, and he was crying so hard that snot was about to come out of his nose. “Mom, Grandpa said you are going to the capital city. Are you abandoning Xiao Boa? Wuwu……”

Looking at her two sons, there was no motherly love in Jiang Danhong’s eyes. There was only icy cold hatred and disgust.

She pried their hands off and said coldly, “Don’t call me Mom. I am not your mother! And you are not my children!”

She was forced to marry that disgusting man, forced to bed him, and forced to have two children.

She had wanted none of those in the first place!

These children were a reminder of the humiliation that she had to go through. She had never wanted them!

Upon hearing her harsh words, Jiang Danhong’s mother-in-law pointed and shouted at her, “You were pregnant with Da Bao and Xiao Bao for 10 months and gave birth to them. Now you are going to abandon them just to go back to the capital city? How could you be so heartless?”
