Chapter 293 - "Yes, I am here." (2)
“Who were the ones responsible for rinsing the vegetables and cooking?”
Guo Weiping’s face was pale like a piece of paper. “I am responsible for rinsing the vegetables but I, I didn’t poison the man.”
As he spoke, he started crying from fear.
Tong Xuelu said nonchalantly, “I am standing in place for the chef of the restaurant and I was the one who made the braised pork. Nevertheless, I have no beef with that man and had no reason to poison him.
“Besides, have you noticed something else that was odd? Many of our patrons had the braised pork and were fine. Why was it that Comrade Cao was the only one poisoned?”
Liu Dongchang wanted to place the blame on her and she would see to it that he failed.
She would meddle things up. If he wouldn’t leave her alone, then nobody would be left alone.
The male cop was taken aback a little then, looking at Tong Xuelu approvingly, said, “You are very right. That was quite suspicious.”
Liu Dongchang frowned almost unnoticeably when he heard that. He cleared his throat softly.
Tan Xiaoyan, too, jumped out the never next second. “Comrade Cop, I have some information to offer up!”
“Speak!”
Tong Xuelu took a look at Tong Xuelu and said, “Tong Xuelu had conflicts with Manager Liu in the last few days. She had ruined the relationship between Manager Liu and his lover in the past, causing them to split up. I suspect that she was mad at him because she couldn’t have him, which was why she decided to poison a patron at the restaurant for the sake of making Manager Liu lose his job!”
Tsk. If it wasn’t under such a given situation, Tong Xuelu would have applauded Tan Xiaoyan.

She had instantly given Tong Xuelu motives with her words.
That being said, Tan Xiaoyan was never a smart one. What she said was too logical, and Tong Xuelu didn’t think she could have come up with that on her own.
The male cop looked over at Tong Xuelu and asked, “What do you have to say about that?”
Tong Xuelu, “Yes, I had a conversation with Comrade Meng and told her that she should give her relationship with Manager Liu some serious thoughts. Manager Liu is a divorcee and has two children. His older child is just 9 years younger than Comrade Meng. It is not necessary for Comrade Meng to become a stepmother.
“I, however, did not suggest for her to breakup with Manager Liu. Comrade Meng came to that condition on her own. You can confirm that with Aunty Lin, Comrade Meng’s mother. More importantly, I want to file a report of Tan Xiaoyan ruining my reputation. I have absolutely no romantic feelings toward Manager Liu!”
Aunty Lin nodded. “Yes, it was my daughter’s idea to breakup. That had nothing to do with Comrade Tong."
Tong Xuelu gave Aunty Lin an appreciative look when she heard that.
Liu Dongchang chimed in, “Comrade Cop, even though Comrade Tong claimed that she did not talk my girlfriend into breaking up with me, but she did break up with me after their conversation. We were set to be married by the end of the year. I even visited her family a few days ago!
“Comrade Tong had professed her love for me in the past and I had turned her down. I felt that her look is too seductive. You know, one should marry a virtuous woman for a woman. I need a honest woman to take care of my two children. As such, I had turned Comrade Tong down.”
Not looking like a virtuous woman?
Tong Xuelu was so disgusted that she could puke. “Comrade Cop, this is totally slandering! I am young and pretty and I have a boyfriend!
“My boyfriend is a researcher at the base and he is best friend with Pu Jianyi, the captain of your investigation team. His grandfather was a former commander of the air force. Pray tell, why would I have my eyes on a divorced man with a boyfriend that is so outstanding?”
Everybody was stunned when they heard that.
Even Fang Jingyuan was stunned. She was about to ask since when did Tong Xuelu got a boyfriend but she held herself back the last minute.
