Chapter 337 - "How do you turn down someone that you don't like?" (1)
Old Mr. Wan widened his eyes. “What am I doing here? It’s a restaurant! What do you think I am doing here? A better question is what are you doing here?”
For the very first time in his life, Wen Rugui felt the urge to roll his eyes. “Grandpa, Comrade Tong is my girlfriend.” And you can drop that act. I knew that you knew.
Old Mr. Wan’s eyes widened and he put on a shocked look. “Oh mi. You mean to say that Comrade Tong is your girlfriend?”
“Hi Comrade Tong. I am Wen Rugui’s grandfather. You can just call me Grandpa like Rugui in the future!”
Ahahaha. What a drama queen!
Tong Xuelu did think that someone as nonchalant as Wen Rugui would have a such a playful and dramatic grandfather.
She played along with him. “Hi Grandpa Wen.”
Old Mr. Wan pouted a little. He felt that the “Wen” part was entirely unnecessary.
Then again, he did not wish to turn off a girl as nice as Young Grass. “Grandpa Wen would have to do for now.
Meng Qingqing and the others were stunned by what had unfolded in front of them. Their mouths dropped opened and were dazed for a long while.
So this “obscenely wealthy” old man was the grandfather of Manager Tong’s boyfriend?
And, Manager Tong’s boyfriend was so ridiculously good looking.
Meng Qingqing blushed.
She felt that Manager Tong’s boyfriend was the handsomest man she had ever seen in her life and the two of them made a perfect couple.
Now that she had found out that the old man was Wen Rugui’s grandfather, Tong Xuelu needed to show her sincerity.
She made a steamed date cake for Old Mr. Wan personally and Old Mr. Wan was so happy that his goatee fluttered and he couldn’t stop praising her.
Old Mr. Wan, “Xiao Lu, now that I have found out that you are Rugui’s girlfriend, when are you going to come and visit our place?”
Xiao Lu?
Tong Xuelu’s lips twitched a little. “Grandpa Wan, you can just call me Xuelu. When will Rugui be returning to the base?”

Wen Rugui, “Day after tomorrow.”
He had very little time off and his base was too far away from Capital City.
For the first time in his life, Wen Rugui felt that choosing physics as his profession might have been a mistake.
Tong Xuelu cocked her head and said, “How about tomorrow then? I can swing by tomorrow before noon. Does that work for you, Grandpa Wen?”
Old Mr. Wan nodded like a little chick pecking on rice. “Yes, yes. Any time that works for you will work for me.”
Tong Xuelu said, “Tomorrow it is then.”
Old Mr. Wan recalled that both Xiao Qi and Xiao Ba were all grown and he really wanted to have Young Grass helped him cook them. One for broth and one braised would be perfect.
That was, of course, just a pipe dream. He couldn’t possibly have the girl cook on her first visit.
He couldn’t be that rude!
The restaurant was, after all, a place of business. Old Mr. Wan couldn’t just stay there for as long as he’d like after he finished eating.
As such, he had Wen Rugui carry the steamed date cakes for him and headed home happily.
Wen Rugui didn’t really want to leave just yet but Old Mr. Wan looked like he would not leave unless Wen Rugui left with him. Besides, the restaurant really wasn’t the best place to chitchat, so he had no choice but to take off as well.
The thought that they would be meeting up the next day made him happy.
Meng Qingqing rushed up to Tong Xuelu after Old Mr. Wan and Wen Rugui had left.
“Manager Tong, your boyfriend is so good looking. You two make a cute couple together!”
Guo Weiping, next to her, nodded his head like a little chick pecking at rice.
Guo Chunyu smiled and said, “Someone as perfect as Manager Tong would naturally need an outstanding partner like her boyfriend. That is what you’d call match made in heaven!”
Meng Qingqing, too, nodded repeatedly when she heard that.
That was what she thought to, but she wasn’t able to put it quite as eloquently as Big Sister Chunyu did.
