The apocalypse was at its Crimson crescendo. Seas of monsters were taking over the rundown streets led by the three beings that had single-handedly overthrown humanity from its golden throne even at its strongest. Those beings had wiped out all but a few of the most individually powerful humans and the ones lucky enough to be protected by them. Those beings were known as the three tyrants.

The most prominent of the three was Facarnus, the prince of hell and the ruler of all things devildom. A normal sized humanoid with a pair of pristine horns on his head. His nature is said to be one of lust yet his true colour was one of sadism and destruction.

Next was Scylla, the beast, a large rampaging Kaiju with a part of every single animal making up its body.

Finally, Tytania, the elf queen. The heartless ruler of the feykind, holding immense beauty and even more immense magical power. Her ruthlessness was unmatched but the blind obedience of her people and anyone under her jurisdiction was the true horror of her existence.

-

Dae Hyun, the star of Korea was barely holding on in his fight with a shadow of Facarnus, a sliver of the demon's existence sent to torment the survivors for its master's amusement. The two were exchanging blows in front of the borders of the last free city, Sanctuary. The floor was covered in the blood and corpses of the warriors of humanity that fell. The hero fought valiantly, with a smile etched on his face yet his body was amassing more and more wounds by the second.

The shadow laughed in a way that sounded like a muffled screech as it attacked yet again. The hero tried his best to block the strike but his muscles were locked into place due to the shadow's screech. The shadow ripped into Dae Hyun's abdomen and flung him into a building. The hero laid over a pool of his own blood, his breath had grown weak and he was desperately fighting to stay alive.

Near the battered hero layed a man that had freshly lost his left arm. His face looked as pale as a sheet of paper due to blood loss, heavily contrasting his black hair and amber eyes. That was Johan, the strongest healer of the human resistance and the one known as the pushover saint.

"Status window," Johan whispered, conserving his energy.

A bright blue aetherial screen opened up in front of his face that only he could see.

Johan stared at the screen for a few moments in fear. Mana Critical. The two words that brought horror to him whenever he encountered them and he knew exactly what they meant.

"Only one use left, huh?" He chuckled at the irony of the situation.

Over the years he had worked as a healer in the front lines he had seen many warriors flee at the sight of something stronger than them, leaving hundreds behind to die. But Dae Hyun was different. He loved danger and surpassed all expectations time and time again even when faced with impossible odds. And that was the very reason Johan made his next decision.

"Fight well, Dae Hyun. HEAL!" Johan used the skill for the last time on the last remaining hope for humanity. The hero, Dae Hyun.

The hero's body immediately recovered, dislocated limbs popping back into place, broken bones returning to their original form and wounds closing all in a single blink's worth of time.

The hero stood back up, yet instead of lunging at the shadow to take it down, he fled. He ran away in fear and Johan could do no more than watch as the shadow moved towards Sanctuary, its presence spelling certain doom for the survivors. People he had spent years with. Family.

"What are you doing? Why are you running away? Why? You were supposed to be different? Why are you leaving them? We were family. Why? why? why wh-" those were Johan's final thoughts as his heart stopped beating and he exhaled his last breath. The legendary healer was no more.

Johan opened his eyes. He found himself staring at the clear midday sky. The air around him felt much cleaner than he was used to. He couldn't smell even a hint of the stench of rotting flesh and blood that had followed him for years.

"What's going on? Am I not dead?" Johan mumbled. He checked his body and it seemed to be in pristine condition, even his arm being back in place. His clothes were different, they were replaced by a simple grey tunic, brown pants and a leather belt. His shoes were also replaced by worn down black boots.

"Where am I?"

Johan stood up and looked around in confusion. He was on the border of a large forest which seamlessly blended into vast plains. Nature seemed to be untouched by the hands of man, and the hands of the three tyrants. But he didn't have enough time to think about his situation when a system notification popped up in front of him.

[User has been reincarnated.]

[Karma stat revealed.]

"W-wait what? Status window." Johan said instinctively.

Johan closed his status window and sighed deeply and dropped on his knees. He slammed his firsts into the ground as the betrayal filled him up with an almighty mighty rage.

"It's my fault. I should have known." Johan felt guilty for the imminent end of the humanity he knew.

If only I had Dae Hyun's Talent

"Khreeee," a primal screech was heard from within the forest followed by the sound of a crossbow being fired.

The crossbow bolt hit Johan directly on the right shoulder, its tip making it through his back. Johan squirmed in pain but just pulled the crossbow bolt out, causing blood to splatter all around.

"Heal," Johan used his skill and his wound closed up immediately. The only sign the crossbow bolt was ever there was the hole it left on the tunic and the blood that was splattered around.

Johan's attention was immediately redirected to where the attack had come from. He looked through the trees and saw an odd creature. It was a humanoid squirrel the size of a kid. It had messy ginger fur, sharp teeth and an unhinged look to it. It was dressed in rugs and held a crossbow with its arms who were covered in blood, especially over its knife-like nails.

"Khreeee," the creature screeched again. It dropped the crossbow and dashed at Johan with inhuman speed, lunging at his face with the first opportunity.

"Not today you little bastard," Johan shouted.

He used his reach to his advantage, punching the creature with a textbook boxing jab while it was in midair though the creature managed to bite off a chunk of Johan's forearm before it was pushed back.

"Heal," Johan cured his wound yet again and waited for the creature to act next.

The creature stumbled back in a daze yet it did not look significantly hurt. It didn't look discouraged in the slightest and lunged at Johan yet again.

"I gave you a chance to run away. You're not getting another one," Johan said.

That time, instead of punching the creature, Johan grabbed it by the neck and slammed it into the ground. The creature retaliated, clawing away at Johan's chest with its nails. Johan used both of his hands to start strangling the creature which continued tearing into his flesh desperately until its death.

Johan's body was in critical condition after the assault he took from the creature. His face, neck and chest were covered in cuts yet he was not bothered.

"Heal." With one use of the skill, Johan's wounds closed up as if they were never there, though his tunic was shredded to pieces.

Johan was standing over the dead creature, looking at it with curiosity since he had never encountered such a creature before when an old man ran towards him from within the forest. He was carrying a quiver of crossbow bolts on him and was wheezing loudly. He had long grey hair and brown eyes.

"Are you alright young man?" The old man said.

"Yes, I'm fine." Johan replied coldly, he had to turn his head to look at the old man since he was behind him.

"Thank her Luminosity, you're safe. I saw you fight with that katay. Are you sure you don't need any help? Their saliva makes wounds very difficult to treat," the old man insisted.

"What's that?" Johan asked.

"A katay? You don't know what katay is? The big squirrel you just killed. That's a katay. Are you from the north or something? Let me look at your wounds. I saw all the- HUH?" The old man moved around to check Johan's wounds yet found nothing.

"See? I told you I was fine, old man." Johan sighed.

"That can't be. There is so much blood. How did you even do that? And don't call me old man. I have a name." The old man said.

"How am I supposed to know your name?" Johan asked.

"It's Rey. Remember that." The old man replied.
