When Kanae returned to Radevic the next day, the city was in a much more raucous state than when she left it. A mass congregation of people gathered just outside the gates of Aidenhall, many of them shouting at the platoon of troubled guards whom they outnumbered nearly a hundred to one. Vestrid and Esta were down there alongside the palace guards, trying to quell them.

As soon as Kanae flew over them to get inside, the ire of the protestors turned to her instead.

"There she is! The succubus!"

"What are you knights waiting for? That's a demon!"

"You're probably all charmed, aren't you?"

They began throwing rotten fruits and vegetables into the air. Kanae deftly avoided the rancid spoilages, but someone had other plans. Cylia poked her head out from Kanae's collar and flashed a mischievous smile. The rotten projectiles stopped in mid-air as though frozen in time, then launched back to the ones who threw them at ten times their original size.

"Cylia, no!" Kanae cried.

Foul apples the size of pumpkins and moldy cabbages the size of wheelbarrows exploded over them with putrid gunk.

"Oh, gods… It's in my mouth!"

"I'm gonna be sick— urk!"

A chunk of them ran away screaming and barfing, but there were many more who stuck around to air out their grievances.

"Stay hidden and be quiet!" Kanae charmed the cackling perpetrator and compelled her to stay deep within the cleavage before landing next to the knights.

"Master, are you alright?" Esta shielded Kanae from a fruit thrown past the line of guards.

"I am, but what's going on?" Kanae asked.

"The protests cropped up over night," Vestrid sighed. "I think the reason why is pretty obvious. Doubtful that they can do anything about it, but you may want to hurry out of sight before they become even more rowdy. Oh, I almost forgot. They are currently in a meeting right now at Aidenhall's cathedral and are expecting your attendance."

"They…?"

"I would accompany you, but the Grand Eye has stationed me here. However, I will disobey her if you order it," Esta said.

"Silver." Her Saint Priest counterpart folded both arms.

"It's okay. I'm sure it's nothing," Kanae assured her.

She headed to the cathedral, the same one that Archbishop Gretchen had her go before. There was a larger than usual presence of knights at the entrance, and they stiffened upon seeing her arrive. Two of them opened the doors, and Kanae was engulfed in a wave of holy energies nipping at every inch of her skin.

Inside, Grand Eye Analise was at the pulpit with Delayn and Will at her side. They were engaged in a heated discussion with Archbishop Gretchen, a mountain of a human man, and a blindfolded elven woman on one of the aisles. On the opposite side were Marwin and Eliza with an unlit pipe in her mouth.

"Amethyst," the Grand Eye spoke up and silenced both sides. "Come forth."

Kanae did as ordered under the many burning gazes. The most piercing one happened to be from the blindfolded elf, whose long black hair and eyebrows shaved down to circles appeared almost Asian.

"Why is the succubus hiding a fairy in her bosom?" she quietly asked.

The large human man erupted into a bellowing laughter until the elf's lack of a reaction quieted him.

"Wait, Dalu… you ain't kidding?" he asked, leaning down in her personal space.

The elven woman named Dalu threw a tantrum as she elbowed him repeatedly. "Why would I be joking in front of their graces, the Grand Eye and Archbishop, you stupid oaf? By the Supreme One, you're always like this, Vander. Please, show a little more decorum!"

If it wasn't for the strong magical aura emanating from both of them, Kanae would have mistaken them for a comedic duo or court jesters. Archbishop Gretchen popped a vein in her forehead, growing more agitated as the two bickered.

"Both of you, be quiet!" she ordered.

They did, and all eyes were back to Kanae.

"Rescuing the fairy was a quest. I-I was hoping to nurse her back to health before returning her to Faebog," Kanae explained to the Grand Eye.

"I see. Your training must be going well. Marwin tells me your potential as a Knight of Colors increases by the day. However, we have been in discussion about your recent escapades," Grand Eye said.

Kanae swallowed hard.

"Need I remind you?" Gretchen began spitefully. "You were seen soaring through Radevic and wreaking havoc at night. Your necromancer friend terrorized an innocent village with an army of undead. Some people have reported their friends being put under a charm spell.

Kanae swallowed even harder and sulked. There was nothing to explain herself out of it. The archbishop was out to get her in any way possible.

Eliza suddenly stepped forward. "Now, now. Certainly Kanae is at fault for those incidents, but no one has been hurt. In fact, ever since she arrived, petty crime has fallen. Thieves are afraid of robbing the wrong lady, it seems. The residents of Lobury told us the undead attack was a case of misunderstanding. I should also mention, the denizens of Radevic's lower wards have been happier as of late thanks to the Eminence of Sin and its High Priestesses' charity."

"Really? That's great! The people down there have long been left to fend for themselves. The church's humanitarian efforts to reach them were always so half-hearted," Will added.

The Grand Eye cleared her throat and pressed her fingers shyly together. "You know, William. Your big sister has been making great strides in illuminating the barbaric south with the Supreme One's bright eye. A little praise would be nice!"

"Ana, this is unbecoming of the Grand Eye!" he groaned.

Everyone heaved a quiet sigh. Were they used to this?

"Grand Eye, I implore you— we should restrict Kanae Toyomi's permissible whereabouts to within the confines of Aidenhall. Otherwise, her presence around the city might incur a revolt. You've seen the citizens, haven't you?" Archbishop Gretchen asked.

Kanae realized what she was trying to do and gasped. "Restrict my movements? That's no different than keeping me caged!"

"Your Grace, that is simply an unreasonable request. It would… that's right! It would hinder Kanae's training as Knight of Amethyst!" Marwin said in her defense.

Enough. "I've decided." The Grand Eye came around to the front of the pulpit. "We cannot treat the queen of the Commonwealth as a prisoner. However, the city and its people have grown restless. It is understandable when there are two demons in the city. Amethyst will remain here and continue her training within Aidenhall's premises until she completes Marwin's mentorship. At which point, perhaps the tensions will have simmered down, and Kanae shall be allowed to roam freely again. A letter will be sent to Edina Hackett at the new church of the Eminence of Sin, informing her to behave or face being evicted from the city. That is the best I can offer."

Everyone left in separate directions. Gretchen gave Kanae a taunting smirk before disappearing down the hall with her company, and the Grand Eye went the other direction with Delayn and Will.

"I'm so sorry, my pupil. I wish there was more I could have said." Marwin frowned.

"It's alright," Kanae said, watching the human and elven woman following Gretchen leave. "Who were those two anyway?"

"Vander Zolta, Knight of Azure for the human race, and Dalu'luna Mello, unofficially the Knight of Ivory," Eliza explained, lighting up her pipe now that everyone was gone.

"Unofficially? As in, she's in training like I am?"

The sorceress shook her head. "Ivory is not a real branch for the common elves. Ortesia has historically rejected the notion that their tarnished-haired and fuller-cheeked cousins are a race of their own. It was hard enough to establish dark elven's Copper, but that was mainly— again— arrogance on the high elves' part to dissociate from them. Ivory is more like Gretchen's informal little game to keep the common elf under her thumb."

Wow. The more Kanae learned about the high elves, the less she thought of them. Gretchen and Rudo, they really were just a bunch of pricks.

More importantly, being stuck in Aidenhall was the worst case scenario. The church should be fine, but Kanae couldn't reach Renya to investigate the Rown Company anymore. It was probably exactly what Gretchen wanted.

"Ugh. Why didn't we just tell the Grand Eye about Gretchen right then and there so we can get it over with?" Kanae asked.

"Tsk, tsk." Eliza threw an arm around Kanae's shoulder and led her outside of the cathedral. "Look around us. Do you know for sure who secretly supports the archbishop and who doesn't? Which knight possesses a vial of the potion we're trying to get to the bottom of? Or where the king might be, so that we can reach him first before those who would hold him hostage?"

Dozens of students and knights passed by them each second. Countless more were behind the doors of each study, dormitory, and chamber in Aidenhall. Eliza was right. If a fight were to just break out, Kanae wouldn't know who was on her side. Joap and Reen would get caught up in it, unsure of who to help.

"I know it is frustrating, but we must only strike when the time is right." Eliza patted Kanae on the back and walked off.

Kanae and Marwin returned to the tower. From up there, she could still see the protestors outside of Aidenhall. That must have been Gretchen's doing, too. There was hardly a commotion until today.

After changing into the skimpy maid outfit, Kanae ascended to Marwin's room to report on the quest.

"So… fairies. As in the one Dalu mentioned earlier?" Marwin asked while eyeing Kanae's chest.

"Yeah— Oh. Oh, shit!" Kanae fished into her breasts and pulled out Cylia, who was caked in sweat and gasping for breath.

"You bitch! You almost suffocated me with those gigantic boobs! How would you feel if I turned them into boxing gloves and beat you with 'em?" Cylia angrily shouted as she kicked and trashed.

"That's it!" Marwin's eyes lit up.

"W-What's it?" Kanae turned to him with a start from his exclamation.

"If I take control of a body as small as a fairy, I can enjoy your breasts to their fullest—"

"We've got more important things to do than stuffing you into my boobs!" she yelled.

They put Cylia on the table with some tea and biscuits. Of course, they were way too big for her. However, the fairy made due and partook anyway. In fact, she was enjoying the significantly larger portions.

"Cylia, do you have any idea where your people were taken at all?" Kanae asked.

"Hells if I know. I came with you because you promised to help me find them, remember? Don't tell I left Faebog for nothing." Cylia put her hands on her waist.

"There is a way to find your missing kin. Scrying. It's a powerful divination spell that searches into the unknown to make it known." Marwin retrieved a crystal ball from inside a desk. He set it on a cushion and urged the other two closer. A thick fog swirled within. Neither of them could see anything.

"I'm not seeing shit, you pile of bones. Where are my brothers and sisters?" the fairy asked impatiently.

"Hold on…" He pulled out a tome from one of the magically-locked bookcases that Kanae had broken into before. "Now, as I incant the spell, you must create a clear picture of what or who you wish to see in your mind. The clearer, the easier we can locate them."

As Marwin muttered, Cylia wrinkled her face in deep thought.

The fog began to clear. Something shapely appeared in the crystal ball. Like a pair of…

Boobs.

Kanae glared at the fairy.

"Ain't me chief. As if I want to see any more of your tits after being sandwiched like ham in 'em," Cylia said.

"Sorry, that was me!" Marwin apologized. "Scry must have chosen me since I was picturing Kanae's breasts too clearly again!"

"Focus— er, actually don't focus, you perverted old man!" Kanae shouted.

The image of Kanae's breasts vanished, and the crystal ball was obscured by fog again. Slowly, something else appeared. Vague at first until the silhouette of a male fairy formed. Details started filling in, like the color of his dress, his terrified demeanor… or was that a disgusted demeanor? It was hard to tell.

"That's Milo!" Cylia gasped.

"Okay, hold that thought. Literally! I should be able to take that fairy's vision to look around," Marwin said.

It gradually zoomed into Milo's eyes until a whole room reflected from them. Fairies were kept in glass jars on shelves. The room was lit up with torches. A beastman's furry hand reached for the jar adjacent to Milo, and the fairy inside it banged on the glass as they were brought over to a table. The jar was partially covered in a green substance, like it was smeared over the glass in splotches.

The beastman tapped the lid, causing a bright light to flash. The fairy fell unconscious, then he unscrews the lid to start scraping the green stuff.

"Is that what I think it is? Fairy moss?" Kanae asked.

"They wanted our poop? What the fuck? Uweeh…" Cylia gagged loudly.

"Fairy moss… is your poop?"

"We don't eat, so we don't shit like you giant meatbags do. We breathe in mana-rich air for sustenance and breathe out mana-poor air as scat that turns into moss. You're breathing in my shit as we speak!" she cackled.

"I could have gone my entire life without needing that information." Kanae sighed.

After the beastman finished collecting fairy poop, he passed the substance scraped onto a piece of paper to another person, sealed the lid, put the fairy back on the shelf, and reached for another one. It wasn't just him. He was among many doing the same. They had an entire assembly line of people working on it.

"Enough stalling. Where the fuck is this? I wanna free my brothers and sisters, and rip out the eyeballs of those bastards farming us," Cylia said.

"I'm trying… but I need silence in order to steer this damn thing." Marwin hushed the two.

The crystal ball zoomed into an elven workers' eyes. Whoever he was, it seemed like he finished for the day and was on the way out. The elf rubbed his eyes, exited the room to ascend some stairs, and nodded to a few people on the way out.

"Ew… It's so gross! He touches his eyes and other people' hands with the poop!" Cylia cried.

"Please, stop saying poop," Kanae pleaded.

Everyone the elf passed by was dressed in well-to-do clothing. Not in tatters like Kanae expected of a grimey job. They wore leather work tunics. The rooms were neatly kept. Maybe a Rown workshop? Nothing was showing to denote what kind of building it was or who it belonged to. When the elf exited the building entirely, he looked up and down the tidy roads. His peripherals briefly showed Aidenhall, and the sun to the right side of the palace—

Kanae rushed to the window. From where she and the tower were located, the sun was setting directly behind Aidenhall.

"That's all I can do!" Marwin collapsed into his chair, and the crystal ball fogged up again. "Scrying takes a lot of magic. Whew. I hope you found something, because I'm out of mana for the day."

"I did! That building had to be somewhere in the southeastern part of the city. It's the only way the orientation of Aidenhall and the sun makes sense from that guy's perspective," Kanae explained.

"Good thinking, pupil! Every day, I grow more impressed by you!" The wizard petted her on the head.

It was embarrassing at first. Kanae blushed and fidgeted under her master's praise. At least until he started groping her boobs.

"Ah… I can feel my mana restoring already— ow, ow, ow!"

Kanae gripped Marwin's bony wrists tightly. "I wonder if you'd survive if I drained you while you're out of mana."

"If you two are gonna fuck, there's time for that later. We got an idea where my brothers and sisters are, so let's get 'em!" Cylia exclaimed.

Kanae and Marwin traded looks.

"It's not going to be that easy," Kanae said. "Even a small section of the city will take months to comb over. Even if we find them, it's going to take a lot more manpower to hit that place."

"If you think I'm wasting another second letting my people stew in that poop farm, you got another thing coming!"

"I promised that we'd find them, didn't I? There's a way to narrow our search down. But I'm stuck here. Cylia, I want you to meet up with some people. Can you do that?" Kanae asked.

Cylia clicked her tongue. "Alright, fine. They better not stuff me into their tits though! Who am I looking for?"
