High up in the celestial skies, Heaven was in pandemonium.

“I don’t care, you better find that record now—”

“I’m trying, dammit! Can you help me out instead of being an annoying brat?!”

In the centre of the chaos that descended upon the Elysian realm were two Goddesses berating each other—something that no self-respecting, high-ranking divine being should be engaging in, let alone be caught in the very act itself. However, at this very moment, no one dared to intervene in the two’s fight; the group of archangels and lesser angels simply gathered around the entrance of the Secretariat, watching the Goddesses tear up archive after archive in search of a particular reincarnation record.

“This whole problem is all your fault, Anthia. Why should I be concerned?”

“You’re going to be implicated in this mess as well, Venice, so how about you shut up and go over to that side to look?” the silver-haired goddess snapped at her colleague, her vermilion eyes frosting over as she pointed towards the opposite corner.

“Argh, this is seriously eating up my free time…” Venice grumbled while she dragged her feet across the disorganised room and began pulling records off the highest shelf. “I still have my world to govern, you know?”

“If we don’t find her record right now, we both won’t have any worlds to govern,” she rejoined sarcastically.

Ignoring her retort, the cerulean-haired Goddess opened up a record and paused. “Hold on, what’s her name again?”

“Stefania, the legendary Hero who successfully vanquished the evil Demon Lord terrorising her world for a millennium in a single attempt.” Anthia rolled her eyes impatiently. “Didn’t I say that ten minutes ago?”

“No, not the Lady Hero. I already found her record right here—” Venice held up the record she was currently reading “—but the strange thing is, there’s another record attached inside…”

“Wha—HUH?” She dropped the records she had been carrying and glided over hastily to take a closer look at the extra record. “Lukterasia Von Ixin…w-wh-how did the Demon Lord get reincarnated despite being a non-mortal?”

“Anthia, t-that’s not all—” Venice pointed at the ‘Remarks’ field below Lukterasia’s particulars “—which damn retard in this department authorised this??”

Her eyes widened till they nearly popped out of their sockets as she read it aloud. “T-THE REINCARNATOR IS GRANTED PERMISSION TO RETAIN FULL ORIGINAL POWERS PRIOR TO DEATH?!!”

Venice opened her mouth to answer, but suddenly froze as she caught a seemingly nondescript sentence written at the very bottom. “...h-h-hey, I think this is even worse.” Even she couldn’t stop her finger from shaking slightly as she pointed it out. “L-look.”

“?” Anthia blinked in surprise and quickly shifted her eyes down the record to the final field. It was the section detailing the next life of the reincarnated individual; even if the Demon Lord were to be reincarnated in another world similar to Eltshion, she figured it would just be a matter of creating another Hero to defeat her—eh?

“S-something’s wrong with my eyesight…” Anthia had to blink and reread it again to confirm that she wasn’t hallucinating all of a sudden.

The next moment, two screams of pure unadulterated horror ripped through the heavenly realm.
