In addition to a fancy dress with shiny golden embroidery, her thick wavy hair matched well with the golden ribbon on the dress. She was beautiful enough to draw envy from any country’s princess.

But something’s missing. Even though on my childish neck hung a shiny diamond necklace, my sister’s neck was empty. 

Here we go again. 

Mrs. Lisbon always plays mean tricks like this. She did not bring accessories to my sister on purpose. Everyone seems to take advantage of the fact that my parents are too busy to take care of her in detail, but this method does not work if they are caught by me. 

“Your neck looks a little empty. I wish I could cover it up, what would be good daddy?” 

“She’d look good in embroidery. Mrs. Lisbon, bring Clara the embroidered necklace that came in as a tribute last week.”

If I had asked, she’d refuse and talk back, but it was a direct order from the Duke, not anyone else. 

Looking at Mrs. Lisbon’s rotting face{1}, somehow it seemed like she’d have three days of indigestion.

To compliment my proud father, I even kissed him on the cheek. 

“As expected, my dad is the best.” 

“Yes, daddy is the best. You cute little one.” 

I had to get 10 kisses from my dad for a kiss on the cheek, but it was okay. 

I watched my sister transforming into a beautiful lady in the arms of my father, who could hardly let go. 

“Daddy, I want her to be happy.” 

“Of course. All of my family should be happy.” 

They are good people, but for the two of them, Ciel was the most precious. 

The reason why in the original novel they failed to stop Ciel from going rampant is because the Duke and his wife loved Ciel too much. 

Ciel, who didn’t want to share her parent’s love, used whatever means she could. Only because Clara was an adoptee, she bullied her using all sorts of ruthless means.

It was thanks to Alex that Clara was able to have a happy ending safely amid such vicious bullying. It was only after all the evil deeds were revealed by the male lead that the Duke and his wife gave up on their daughter. 

If you commit a crime, you should be punished. 

After their beloved daughter was sentenced to death, the Duchess was absolutely miserable. 

As if it was not enough to watch her beloved daughter be executed at the hands of the Crown Prince, but her second son did not acknowledge the wrongdoings of Ciel and died in rebellion. 

I fell in love with this family who poured out love that I had never felt before. Therefore, it’s necessary to prevent tragedy and protect my innocent family. 

If the original story is destroyed as much as possible to protect Clara and the Duke of Valentine’s family, the future will change a little.

Theo’s expression rotted rapidly when I intentionally acted cute and childish. It’s cheesy, right? I’m dying of cheesiness.

When Clara took my side, Theo stared at me with a disapproving face. You hate me because I’m stuck like gum to your precious Clara. 

I was so into teasing my big brother today, that I smiled while arm-in-arm with my sister.

I’m sorry, Theo. I know how you feel, but Clara’s still the female lead. After getting ready, we headed to the party where the guests were waiting. 

“My princess is cute again today.” 

“Isaac, brother!” 

When the blonde smiley boy who shines like honey approached, I shook off my father’s hand and ran to hug him.

Ciel has a total of three older brothers. Theo, Isaac, and Louis. 

Isaac, the beautiful second son, was the only one who inherited their mother’s blond hair. 

In addition, he has a huge sister complex.

The owner of the voice is her youngest brother who acts like a villain. Louis, the center of evil, was responsible for everything.

Louis, who is only two years older than me, picks a fight with me almost every day. He’s a rebel and neutral. In other words, he’s an eccentric that’s on anyone’s side. 

He sticks onto Clara for his own interests, and onto Ciel some other days. Since then, he had disposed of the remaining assets even after the Valentine family was destroyed, and fled to a foreign country to eat and live well. 

The problem is that this joker-like guy, who doesn’t know where to turn{2}, is seriously bothering me, treating me like a toy. 

Maybe because I bowed down to Clara{3}, because she’s my sister, but I was like a grain of rice compared to this stupid guy. 

“Isaac, Louis is bothering me again.”

 “What, Louis, are you jealous because you want to wear a dress too?”

“No, I’m not!”

Of course, less-grown up Louis was irked and couldn’t deal with the blow. After that, I took my second brother’s hand and looked around the party. 

“Happy birthday.” 

It’s so tiring to accept the greetings of adults who want to look good to the youngest daughter of the Duke, but it cannot be helped. People should pay for their meals. 

Still, I did not forget to thank the elders with a bright smile. 

“Ciel, come here.” 

The time has finally come. When I heard my big brother calling, I approached the podium and my family gathered.

Finally, the male lead made his entrance.

I’m glad I made Clara wear a golden dress on purpose. Even if he was not yet appointed as Crown Prince, he is definitely the first Prince and the next Emperor of the Greitanian Empire. 

Wouldn’t it be okay to add a little bit of directing for a fateful encounter between the two? 

In spite of my anxiety, Alex calmly climbed up to the podium and talked to my father, the head of the family.

“The Lord of the Empire, His Majesty Gregory III, said to celebrate the eighth birthday of Princess Valentine, the treasure of the Empire, and deliver this gift.” 

“I’m honored, your Highness.” 

His polite greeting was very mature, but at this point, Alex was only the first Prince and not the Crown Prince. 

It would be nice to be the Crown Prince, but the munchkin{4} Prince, who has everything, had a fatal weakness; his bloodline. 

It’s still unknown who Alex’s mother is. The Emperor is not officially married, so the Empress’s seat of our Empire is now vacant. 

Instead, the Emperor’s sister, Princess Lotte, reigns as Empress{5}. And despite the fact that the temple confirmed that he’s the Emperor’s son, Alex was disadvantaged by his hair color, which was different from the Imperial family. 

Therefore, the Emperor recommended that he consider marrying Ciel to compensate for his son’s lack of blood. 

However, for the first time in his life, he refuses his father’s orders and falls in love with Clara, who is in no way helpful to his position.
