Chapter 7: Chapter 6: i don’t know what to put in the title

"His irritating skills keep getting better and better," I said to myself as I walk to a convenience store after that running montage.

The convenience store is located on the edge of the city and I don't know why he has chosen this location if he had wanted to run a business. But it's convenient alright.

*ding*

"Welcome," said a monotone voice that greeted me. That monotone voice comes from the cashier that looks like a dead person as he fiddle with his computer. I can end the suffering if you would like~.

"Heyya jack~, long time no see."

He didn't respond as looked at me for about three seconds before he pointed at a door that is right behind him as he says...

"Better be quick, I don't want troubles. I also heard from Cyrus that you got angry again, Is that true?" 

"Yeah yeah, it isn't that troublesome right? I just destroyed a tree right? It isn't that hard to cover up."

"Yeah, not like the submarine." I think he murmured something offensive.

"What did you just say?" I said with a tint of irritation in my voice, I don't talk about the last incident because it was embarrassing, to say the least.

"*Sigh* just be quick, please? I don't want the media to track you down to here you know?"

"That's a poor attempt to change the subject. And also, how the heck can I be tracked when you and your team can freaking cover up almost everything?" she didn't realise that he change the subject successfully.

"Who knows, maybe we can make a mistake or two. Besides, even if they find us, they still cannot do anything to us because we're a completely legal group."

"Fair point."

"Now clean up behind the door, you stink." He said with a voice that is running out of patience. And here I can't even retort because what he said was true.

I then nodded as I walk through the door. I feel like I have been tricked by him into calming down? Well, that's okay I guess?

The room could even be considered a house because it has everything. Be it bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, everything!

I then cleaned myself up in the bathroom because of how smelly I was. Why am I this smelly? Because one part of its mission needed me to walk through a gigantic forest just to infiltrate their base. It was a pretty troublesome mission but I still accepted it because it seemed to be fun!

Our organization is a group called lions and hyenas. Pretty unoriginal name because my uncle named it.

We're just a simple group that aimed to kill the most wanted men or women on the planet so sometimes we go overseas. We also sometimes do some spying jobs.

 Although killing wanted people isn't my main point in joining the group, it was still very fruitful because of the pay wage, its network of information, and having to kill the sickest of men gives you some kind of unique pleasure. (Damn, I sound like some web novel yandere there.)

Sometimes, if the army or the police can't catch some very dangerous criminals, they would turn to us and pay us some huge money.

This job is also very dangerous because it involves people from all around the world that cannot even be caught by the best of the best.

In short, we are a mercenary group that kills the most wanted criminals on the planet.

"Ahh~" I exclaimed as I finished showering. I then change my clothes because my earlier one was dirty.

It was some pretty simple clothes, a light blue t-shirt and a long black skirt. I also wear some glasses, change my cap to a red one, and I also took a school bag with me.

"Done~!" I exclaimed as I pushed the door with excitement, now let's go to the main part of why I got here in the first place.

"Jack~, do you have any new volumes of the new manga~?" I said in a cheerful voice so that I could maybe lower the price. Tho I doubt that it would work on Jack.

His face went serious as he signalled me to wait a minute before he bent down as he seems to be trying to find something.

"Here." He said in a serious voice as if he puts down a book that have the title called 'the author with the stealth talent is trying to be stealthy on his second life.' Yeah, the title is pretty lengthy but it has a great story nonetheless.

"900 pesos I don't have that much stock." 

Now the real fight begins.

"Could you make it down to 550 because that is waay too expensive."

"That's because you are the only one that is buying this from me so I wouldn't have that much profit, to begin with."

"That's because you are on the edge of the city, of course, you wouldn't have that many customers so it means it was your fault in the beginning."

"I looked pretty hard for this shit so could you please acknowledge my suffering?"

"I can end your suffering you know~?" I said as I prepared a stance. Oh, I'll acknowledge it alright.

"Fine, 800. Take it or leave it."

"That's still not enough."

"Like why do you care about lowering the price that much? I know you're already rich because you are in this group so why?"

"Past mistakes," I said in a dramatic tone. My first shopping was horrible as I bought some overpriced items, It also almost took my life. I guess that she's overeating?

He looked at me with a pitiful face and said...

"Okay fine, 700. That's my limit."

"Deal!" I said with a loud voice. I then take the book at high speeds as I put it in my bag. I also think that I saw him smirk for a moment but I guess that was my imagination?

"Oh yeah, I almost forgot, are there any instant noodles here?"

"They are in the back of the store. Why do you need them?"

"My brother forgot to cook for me again. *sigh*"

"How would you know that?" He asked with a curious tone of voice.

"It's called sisterly love~ You wouldn't understand it."

He looked at me with some "understanding" eyes that made him look like a monk that has come down to the mountains, then he nods with understanding as he then looks for the instant noodle. I think he might have misunderstood something but I can't pinpoint what exactly it is.

"Here's your instant noodle. Go take the backdoor, I hate to always edit my CCTV." He said as he fiddled with his computer, again.

"Bye-bye~, hope we meet again! In a normal way that is." 

I then left the convenience store in a hurry. Time to run to our apartment.

Pov-john

"Fuck fuck fuck." The pressure is brewing, my legs are shaking, and cold sweat is now appearing.

The egg just started cracking, the rice just started cooking, and I forgot to wash the dishes.

The clock is clicking, my head started spinning, and the pressure started rising.

All my hope started diminishing, all my promises were always broken, and I can't even cook for my sister's homecoming.

...

"That's so cringed of me," I said to myself as I cook my Sister's dinner. 

The thing is I always start to divert my focus to something else when I'm under pressure. It was a pretty bad habit of mine that even haunted me during my childhood. My brain would always start to think about a different subject in my head so that I couldn't focus on my current one.

"But still, it looks like I can't cook this all in time."

I looked at the situation right now. The egg can be easily cooked but the real problem was the rice. The rice will take way too long to cook. Do I just abandon it?

...

"Who cares about my sister's dinner anyway," I said as I go to the living room.

The reason I just abandon the cooking idea is that my instincts stopped ringing. I guess she didn't have any hopes that I can remember my promise huh? That's painful. All that has happened from the very start of the poem is just the imagination of John.

Hela is still watching the animal documentary channel, I guess that she likes animals huh? 

Hela then noticed my presence as she looks in my direction, she then says...

"Are you done with whatever you were doing? You were panicking so I thought it would be a bit serious because I never saw you panic this much, even in our fight."

"Ahh, well, this is a bit embarrassing to say but I was panicking because I forgot to cook for my sister but I guess it's alright now," I said while scratching my head out of embarrassment.

She just simply nods as she watches the commercials.

"Heyya~, Elysa has arrived!" My sister(i think?) said as she opens the door with great force that it almost took it down.

She then scanned the area a bit, and when she saw hela, the room suddenly drops the temperature that it feels like winter suddenly appeared.

"Big brother, I never knew you had a girlfriend. How long are you two are together~?" 

She then releases her blue aura that can even make a strong fighter make a run for his money.

Hela then turned her head to her as she releases her own aura that can contest my little sister's aura. In fact, Hela's aura is a bit stronger, this made Elysa falter a bit but she's still hanging on by a thread.

"Hey Elysa, hela isn't my girlfriend. She's just going to stay here for now because her situation is a bit complicated. I also just met her this afternoon so we borderline don't know each other." 

I guess it's easy to make that misunderstanding when you live with a girl in the same apartment.

"Wait, really?" Her aura then calm down a bit as she looked at me with doubt.

I just nodded as she then stopped her aura completely.

Hela then also stopped her aura with a frown on her face as she stares at Elysa.

"Same case huh?" Hela murmured something that I cannot fully hear. Must be my imagination.

"Then what's she doing here?"

"I think that the best explanation is she is a foreigner of this world." That's the best explanation that I could think of in that short amount of time.

"So... isekai?"

"Ise-what now?" I'm wondering what the isekai word means. Maybe a word to describe some world-hoping abilities?

"Brother, I can't believe that you are an introvert and at the same time don't know an anime that have isekai on it." She said as she patted my shoulders. It also made me confused even more so than I thought, I know some anime and it's like a cartoon and all but what is an isekai? Is it a title or something?

"You know what brother, just don't think about it." She said as she shakes her head in disbelief. 

She then looked at Hela as she says...

"Well, if we are going to live here might as well introduce myself. My name is Elysa E dimidium, 17 years old. We could be friends if you want to but don't trigger me as I already have one of them doing that."

Hela doesn't know what the fuck is going on but she still followed the lead as she says...

"My name is Hela adiaphorous, 19 years old. The only thing that you should remember is that I don't have a fixed personality due to my talent, I'm telling you this so that we could avoid any confusion in the future."

They then shake hands with each other. 

Ah, so that's her talent. Having the power to change your personality huh, Could've told me sooner. 

*bump*

"What?"

"Your turn brother."

"But you two already know me right?"

Elysa just looked at me with a pleading face and hela is just standing there awkwardly.

"Fine, my name is John E dimidium. The only thing that you all should take note of is the fact that I'm a bit forgetful."

Why do we need to introduce ourselves like this again? 

"Speaking of being forgetful, you forgot to cook dinner again right?" 

"*sigh* yeah, yeah, I forgot. Shouldn't be anything new right?"

"Yeah, yeah kinda expected this so I bought some instant noodles on my way back. We should make an instant noodle party!!!"

"Is that even a thing?"

She just shrugged her shoulders as if implying that she doesn't know it herself. Hela is just there standing and realising that she still doesn't know almost anything in this world. While I am here just going with the flow.

You could say that it was a very tiring night.
