My name is Isla Manner. Me and my parents are going on vacation!

It was the day we depart to our sweet vacation. I said goodbye to my friends, to my neighbours and GOODBYE to school. I sat as my parents loaded the car with our stuff.

"Isla! " My dad called " were leaving "

After saying goodbye for the last time, we set off on our journey. My father mentioned that we are going to stay at a Hillside Villa. I was excited when I heard about it, I csn already imagine the  clear skies, cold breeze and dashing view of a lake.

The thought of swimming in there makes me giddy!

Alas, most of the uneventful journey killed every little excitement I have, I wished something would happen to keep my entertained. I also felt annoyed for some reason...

Halfway through, we were cought in a heavy rainstorm and to make matters worse, the car broke down. Since we plan to stay dry and I haven't want to be wet (yet),decided to stay in the car but that plan was quickly thrown out the window when the car began to shake.

The road has a forest on one side and a cliff on the other, so my parents thought the road is going to collapse. In a panic my parents scrambled out of the car, I too scrambled out but not before grabbing my trusty bag. Leaping out of the car, me and my parents raced to the other side of the road where to forest stood.

Taking shelter under a big tree, the three of us looked back at the car, expecting to ses it falling but was surprised because The car was gone! So is the cliff and the road!

Whats left of a cliffside road was...

More forestland, trees extending out as far as the eye can see. We were baffled, but my father tried think light of it.

" Looks like we ran too far and lost sight of the road " he chuckled nervously. But my scared and confused mother replied

" bu-bu-but the road was there, I know how long I ran, the road can't just dissapear " both were scared but one is unable to admit. I myself is scared but I kept quiet. While we were figuring out where the road went, The strike of a thunder reminds us of our situation.

My father suggested that we find refuge first and we set off to find one. Stopping from tree to tree to keep ourselves dry. I can't help but notice that the trees are quite pale, almost ghostly. Before I could tell me parents,

" look! A house! " my mother exclaimed. She seemed relieved and father was too. We quickly make our way there and knocked on the door. The door was unlocked and we just went in.we took a good look at it and realise that it was an abandoned house, the insides were all old and dusty. There were cobwebs all over the place and but no mice scurrying around. Not Ideal and weird, I thought houses like this was supposed to be infested with vermins but It's unsettlingly quiet and empty here, I'll just have to endure, I thought. The living room has a sofa with an old box TV infront of it. My parents sat on the sofa and they exhaled, feeling tired of all that happened. I wasn't very tired but I pulled out a chocobar out of my backpack and munched on it.

I was feeling a bit adventurous since this lloked like one of those haunted house adventure in one of those tv shoe I watched. I planned to look around the house while munching the chocobar I had but It was gone!

" strange..." I muttered "I must've eaten it all already..."

Continueing on the exploration, I found a storage cabinet, a living room, a big kitchen and a stair that leads to a second floor. I was tempted to go up there, but for some reason I didn't.

I eventually found a hallway that leads to somewhere. It was unnaturally long, but I dismissed it. It was mostly creepy but as I was nearer to the end, things turn for the worse.

Nearing the end of the of the hallway, I saw a pair of red eyes staring at me from the darkness, then another pair, and another pair, the eyes keep appearing until the other side of the door looked like a sea of black and red. I was rooted to the ground, unable to move until the darkness moved forward like a rushing wave, wanting to devour me.

I turned and ran for my life. I was confident in my speed since I used to run for school track, but when I was running I felt burdened like I am dragging something with me. I almost reached the other end when I tripped. I turn back to look at the approaching darkness and to my horror it was almost reaching me. I closed my eyes and braced myself for whats to come. But to my surprise, the darkness stopped in front of me before slowly retreating back. I was bawling my eyes out right there and then, It spared me, I was saved.

Steeling nyself, I got up and went to get my parents. This house is dangerous, and I don't want to stay any longer. Walking through the doors and corridors, I made my way to the living room where my parents stayed. When I reached there I saw my parents, Unconcious and on thr floor. I shook them until they were awake. They slowly awoke from their slumber, and asked me whats going on. My mother started panicking over something but quickly quieted down. We ran outside with haste, afraid that the house would try something. When we are outside, we decided go look back at the house. The sight and greeted m scared the heck out of me, the house's windows have red eyes peeking through all of them. The eyes watches as we leave. It was unnerving but we marched on.

We traced our way back and we found our car! It was also working again!

With joy, we hopped in and drived away. My parents was asking me what else happend during the ride until they suddenly stopped and stared in a daze before they staryed asked me regular things such as how did I like this trip, as if they didn't experience the weird encounter. It felt like they never did experience what happend just a few minutes ago...

Or maybe...

they forg...

I drifted asleep as tiredness consumed me.

I jolted awake as the car stopped. I got out and looked around. No haunted house, no heavy downpour. Its the Hillside Villa. We've arrived and I was relieved, I helped my parents unload all the bags we have into the Villa and unpack them. I wouldn't forgot what happened, but I need to take my mind of things. I'm not sure but I think the house won't disturb my vacation.

Third POV :

Isla and her family chatted happily  as they unpacked. Unbeknownst to Isla, a single backpack was left in the car. A matching orange bag similar to Isla's. The house, seemed to have claimed something from Isla.

For whatever is claimed by the house, is forgotten by the world.

For now...
