Yang couldn't concentrate on anything else after he sent that message to Yin. He kept checking his phone every few minutes, hoping to see a reply from her. But the minutes turned into an hour, and he still didn't get a response.
Feeling dejected, Yang decided to head back to his dorm. As he was walking, he saw James and Sarah coming towards him. James was waving his arms excitedly, trying to get Yang's attention.
"Hey man, where have you been? We've been looking for you everywhere!" James exclaimed.
Yang shrugged. "Just playing basketball with the guys. What's up?"
"Sarah and I were thinking of going to that new dessert place that just opened up. You wanna join us?" James asked.
Yang was about to decline when he remembered that Yin had not replied to his message. Maybe it was better to take his mind off things and hang out with his friends.
"Sure, why not," Yang said, hoping that he could forget about Yin for a while.
They arrived at the dessert place, which was packed with students, all eager to try out the new place. After a short wait, they managed to get a table and placed their order. James and Sarah were chattering away, but Yang was lost in his thoughts, still hoping for a reply from Yin.
Suddenly, his phone beeped, and he jumped, causing Sarah and James to look at him curiously.
"What's up?" James asked.
"It's Yin. She finally replied," Yang said, his heart racing as he opened the message.
He read the message and his face fell. "She said she's busy this week and can't make it," Yang said dejectedly.
James and Sarah exchanged a knowing glance, and Sarah spoke up. "Don't worry, Yang. Maybe she's just busy with schoolwork or something. I'm sure she'll come around eventually."
Yang forced a smile, not really believing it. He was about to say something when he heard a commotion coming from the front of the store. He turned to see what was going on and saw that the owner of the dessert place was arguing with a customer.
"What's going on?" Yang asked, intrigued.
James chuckled. "Looks like the customer doesn't like the dessert he ordered."
Sarah joined in. "I heard he's complaining that it's too sweet."
Yang rolled his eyes. "Who goes to a dessert place and complains about it being too sweet?"
The argument was getting more heated, and the owner was getting visibly frustrated. Suddenly, he turned to the three friends.
"Hey, you guys look like you know your desserts. What do you think of this one?" he asked, pointing to a tray of pastries.
Yang hesitated for a moment but then shrugged. "Sure, we can give it a try."
The owner handed them a tray of pastries, and they each took a bite. As soon as they did, their faces twisted in disgust.
"Wow, this is awful," Sarah said, trying to hide her disgust.

James nodded. "I think I need some water."
Yang quickly looked around the store and saw that everyone was staring at them. He felt embarrassed and didn't know what to do.
"Uh, sorry, I don't think we can help you with this one," Yang said sheepishly.
The owner looked at them in disbelief, and the customer started laughing.
"Well, that was a disaster," James said, chuckling.
Sarah elbowed him. "It wasn't that bad. I think we just have different taste buds."
Yang couldn't help but laugh too. It felt good to forget about his problems for a while and just enjoy the moment with his friends.
As they made their way back to campus,Yang felt a sense of relief that he was able to forget about his problems for a little while, but as they approached their dorm, he realized that he couldn't avoid the inevitable. He needed to figure out what he was going to do about Yin.
As they reached the entrance of their building, Sarah suddenly stopped and grabbed James' arm.
"Hey, have you guys heard about the new dance club that's starting up? They're having tryouts next week," Sarah said excitedly.
James looked at her skeptically. "I don't know if that's really my thing."
Sarah gave him a pouty face. "Come on, James, it'll be fun! And you can't deny that you've got some pretty slick dance moves."
Yang smiled at the exchange, feeling grateful to have friends like them.
"I'll think about it," James said, still looking uncertain.
Yang nodded, feeling a sudden spark of inspiration. "Actually, that's a great idea. Why don't we all try out for the dance club together?"
Sarah's face lit up. "Yes! That's a great idea, Yang. I'm sure we'll all make the cut."
James looked hesitant but eventually gave in. "I guess it can't hurt to try."
They said their goodbyes and headed back to their respective rooms. Yang sat on his bed, feeling a renewed sense of hope. Maybe trying out for the dance club would be the perfect opportunity to get closer to Yin and show her a different side of him.
As he was about to lay down, his phone beeped again. This time it was a message from Yin.
"Hey, I'm sorry about earlier. I was in the middle of something. Do you want to grab some coffee tomorrow afternoon?"
Yang's heart raced as he read the message. He quickly replied, "Yes, that sounds great. Can't wait."
As he set his phone down, he realized that he was even more nervous now than before. He had no idea what to expect from their coffee date, but he was determined to make the most of it.
Little did he know, Yin had her own plans for their coffee date that could change everything.
