Chapter 135: I Shall Pick You In Future

Jiang Xuecheng and Su Wan stayed for another half an hour and listened to Lu Xiao singing an old love song.

Su Wan thought Lu Xiao would pick a cheerful song for a happy occasion like Tang Yifeng’s birthday instead of the melancholic song she had chosen.

“Red is like the wayward ending of roses

Red is like blood on the lips

That sweet dream in the dark

The pain which you can’t see from the mirror

You’re as heavy as dust

If you catch it, you’ll be drunk before tasting

That warmth has not subsided

Perhaps, you’re the most beautiful wound”

Su Wan had to admit that Lu Xiao sang well.

She made good use of her charming voice and presented the song with lots of feeling, making one feel light.

When Lu Xiao sang, her eyes were on Tang Yifeng. The dim purple light enveloped Lu Xiao. Her eyes were hazy and with Red being such a complex song, it was difficult to make out if there was resentment or happiness in her eyes.

Lu Xiao’s voice entered Su Wan’s ears. Besides thinking that her singing was nice, she felt Lu Xiao liked Tang Yifeng or she would not have sung so emotionally.

Tang Yifeng drank in tranquility. He talked to Jiang Xuecheng here and there and looked at Lu Xiao occasionally.

One had feelings for the other while the other had none.

As an outsider, Su Wan felt Tang Yifeng, who had experience in pursuing girls, definitely knew Lu Xiao liked him but his attitude was neither friendly nor aloof.

Today, he brought Lu Xiao out as his female partner and it might be this special treatment that Lu Xiao was deeply attached to.

When the song ended, Su Wan clapped immediately and said, “Great singing!”

“Indeed!”

Tang Yifeng clapped following Su Wan but after praising Lu Xiao, he shrugged and smiled lowly as he started to tease her.

“Today is my birthday, can’t you sing something for the occasion?”

Lu Xiao glared at Tang Yifeng. “I’ll sing a birthday song for you now.”

Tang Yifeng raised his brows and smiled. “That’s better.”

Lu Xiao glared at him and then sang the English version of Happy Birthday.

This song was entirely contrary to the previous song, Red, and it was warm and sweet. Su Wan couldn’t help humming along following the beat.

After the song, Jiang Xuecheng stood up first. His spoke with a clear voice, “It’s about time Wan Wan and I made a move first. You and Lu Xiao, please carry on.”

Tang Yifeng knew Jiang Xuecheng’s personality and did not force him to stay. He poured a glass of red wine for himself and nodded casually.

“Alright, you and Su Wan go first, Lu Xiao and I won’t see you off.”

Lu Xiao, who was still standing in front of the LED screen, bowed towards Jiang Xuecheng and Su Wan with a radiant smile.

“Goodbye, Young Master and Ms. Su!”

Su Wan looked at Lu Xiao and smiled faintly. “We’ll make a move first. Sis Lu, have fun with the birthday boy.”

Then, Su Wan and Jiang Xuecheng left. Watching them disappearing from her sight, Lu Xiao walked and sat opposite Tang Yifeng.

“It looks like the young master and Ms. Su have good relationship.”

Tang Yifeng handed Lu Xiao a glass of red wine lazily. “He’s never liked anyone in the past. Now that he’s taken a fancy to someone, it might be a moment of freshness.”

Lu Xiao laughed and thought of something interesting. “I don’t think so. Master Tang, let’s have a bet—let’s bet how long he and Miss Su can remain together.”

“Sure, let’s bet. I think it would be one year at most.”

Tang Yifeng smiled and moved toward Lu Xiao to tuck her hair behind her ears. “I heard that Jiang Haoxuan and Ms. Sheng will be back from Dong Chen Country soon.”

“You mean Sheng An’ning?”

Lu Xiao was stunned and a beautiful and refined smile appeared in her mind. In a trance, she thought Sheng An’ning and Su Wan looked a little alike.

Lu Xiao pursed her lips and suddenly thought she should not have betted with Tang Yifeng.

However, Jiang Xuecheng did not like Sheng An’ning. Even if she returned after so many years, he shouldn’t have any different feelings, should he?

Through the car window, Su Wan saw the whole city bathing in the afterglow of the setting sun, bustling with cars and people.

Su Wan thought of the song Red, which Lu Xiao sang just a while ago, and couldn’t help humming. After humming for a while, she turned to look at Jiang Xuecheng. “Sis Lu sang well just now. Xuecheng, can you sing?”

“No.”

Jiang Xuecheng held onto the steering wheel and turned around a corner as he gave a direct answer.

The man’s deep voice entered her ears and Su Wan pouted. “I don’t believe you. You must be very good at singing.”

Jiang Xuecheng’s voice was like his appearance, both were gifts from the heaven. His voice was deep and beautiful, just like the timbre of the cello, with a sense of enchantment.

Being a vocal enthusiast, Su Wan had heard various male voices and she had to admit Jiang Xuecheng’s voice was one that people would never get tired of hearing.

“You don’t sing out of tune, do you?”

At the thought of this possibility, Su Wan gaped at Jiang Xuecheng. If he was like what she just thought, then his good voice would be a waste!

Jiang Xuecheng’s dark eyes curved up slightly and he looked calmly at Su Wan’s face. Then, his eyes moved downwards and landed on her fair ankle.

Su Wan did not understand why he looked at her. Initially, she thought Jiang Xuecheng would sing a song to break her imagination but he remained quiet. Then, he suddenly threw her his windbreaker.

“Drape it on.”

Jiang Xuecheng’s voice was low and deep.

She wasn’t actually cold!

After being speechless for a while, Su Wan covered her legs with the windbreaker. At the same time, Jiang Xuecheng rolled up the two front windows.

Su Wan was silent for a moment and couldn’t suppress her curiosity. So, she started another round of questioning.

“Xuecheng, can you sing me a song? I’m curious about your singing. Don’t worry, I won’t laugh at you if you sing out of tune.”

Jiang Xuecheng stared at the rearview mirror. His look was calm but what he said was irrelevant to what Su Wan asked.

“From tomorrow onward, I’ll send you to work.”

“Oh.” Su Wan ignorantly nodded. After realizing what Jiang Xuecheng said, she trembled, “What? You’ll go to and get off work with me?”

Would it be too high profile to go in and out of Di Chen Group with Jiang Xuecheng every day?

Jiang Xuecheng could read Su Wan’s mind. He narrowed his dark eyes and smiled faintly. “Now that everyone knows of our relationship, what are you afraid of?”
