When she was ridiculed directly by Jiang Xuecheng, Su Wan’s unyielding stubbornness appeared.
“Is it good to give me a label now? Who wants you to carry me? Let’s continue!”
She glared at Jiang Xuecheng with a red face and that moment, she looked like a lotus in water. Her beauty was intoxicating.
Jiang Xuecheng knew Su Wan lacked physical training. She was merely being stubborn at the moment. Wait till she couldn’t climb anymore, she wouldn’t want to wear out her legs, would she?
Jiang Xuecheng smiled teasingly but did not say anything else. He stretched out his hand toward the top, signaling to Su Wan to continue climbing.
Su Wan was not willing to be looked down upon. She went on to the mountain path with great strides.
Many people came to climb the mountain at Beitong and the most eye-catching was the young couple.
Su Wan looked at the tourists who came climbing and realized there were many students. Although Su Wan’s legs felt tired and numb, there was a special feeling in her heart.
She felt as if she had returned with them to her youth during high school.
The wind was blowing and looking at the white clouds in the sky, she felt light, as if she had washed away the dust from her heart.
After nearly an hour and a half, Su Wan and Jiang Xuecheng finally reached the peak of the mountain.
They could have actually reached much earlier but Su Wan had insisted to climb up on her own without help.
When she was stubborn, even nine bulls could not pull her back. She neither wanted to take the cable car nor was she willing to allow Jiang Xuecheng to carry her. Finally, Jiang Xuecheng gave in and walked slowly with her.
Looking at the big drops of sweat oozing from Su Wan’s forehead, Jiang Xuecheng pursed his lips and his heart ached.
The moment they arrived at the peak, Jiang Xuecheng immediately bought two bottles of mineral water. He opened the lid and passed a bottle of mineral water to Su Wan.
“Why are you trying so hard?”
Su Wan received the bottle of mineral water and gulped down half a bottle. She beamed at Jiang Xuecheng while she said, “To prove my ability!”
It had been proven that although Su Wan was slow and the time taken to arrive at the peak was longer, she eventually did it!
Su Wan was more and more aware of the importance of physical fitness. She was determined to find some time to jog next week, or she would feel tired when she went climbing.
After Jiang Xuecheng drank a mouthful of water, he stopped.
His huge body came near Su Wan, took out a piece of tissue paper and wiped her sweat for her.
Su Wan blushed speedily. She looked down bashfully and her long eyelashes fluttered like a little fan, casting a faint silhouette beneath her eyes.
She had to say Jiang Xuecheng looked cold but was actually a gentle and thoughtful man.
Jiang Xuecheng looked at Su Wan steadily and felt when Su Wan lowered her head, her look made his heart beat.
Jiang Xuecheng tilted Su Wan’s chin and planted a gentle kiss on her lips.
He kissed her very quickly and before Su Wan could register, he let go of her.
In a trance, Su Wan smiled. She linked arms with Jiang Xuecheng and looked bashful. “Let’s go to the front to take a look…”
When they arrived at the main entrance of the hall, Su Wan swept across the inscribed board. She discovered that the temple on the top of the mountain was the temple of a matchmaker!

No wonder there were many couples among the tourists.
Su Wan tilted her head and saw an unknown tree just by the main entrance. The tree hung with sheets of wish-making paper. The wish-making paper were all tied with red ribbons and there was a festive feel.
Su Wan took a few more glances unconsciously and thought this wishing tree was quite good.
Under the tree with a thickness of a few people’s hug, there was a stall marked ‘wish-making paper’. Many men and women were lingering there, buying red ribbons and wish-making paper.
Excitement appeared in Su Wan’s eyes. She tugged Jiang Xuecheng’s hand as she said, “Let’s also buy one to hang on the tree.”
Su Wan didn’t believe in deities but she was willing to have good luck.
Jiang Xuecheng and Su Wan walked over to the stall. The stall owner smilingly passed them several types of ribbons for them to choose from.
Su Wan chose the red ribbon printed with cloud patterns. She grinned at Jiang Xuecheng with a gentle and pretty smile.
“Xuecheng, what do you think of this red ribbon?”
Jiang Xuecheng casually looked at it and nodded. “It’s okay.”
Su Wan didn’t mind his unconcerned attitude. If Jiang Xuecheng were to show great interest in this, Su Wan would suspect something was wrong with him.
Su Wan took a piece of light brown wish-making paper. She smiled as she said, “Xuecheng, you write.”
Jiang Xuecheng’s handwriting was elegant and magnificent.
Jiang Xuecheng nodded and took the wish-making paper form her. Then, after some thoughts, he wrote: “I’ll spend all the ups and downs with you.” Finally, he wrote both their names.
Su Wan stared at the wish-making paper and was extremely touched. She held Jiang Xuecheng’s hand and both of them sent the wish-making paper which had been tied with the red ribbon up onto the tree.
Then, both of them when to walk around the temple of the matchmaker. After lunch, they chose to go down the mountain.
However, this time, Su Wan’s legs gave way. Hence, both of them went to take the cable car down.
The moment they arrived at the hotel, Su Wan was tired and her whole body was in pain, especially her legs. While Jiang Xuecheng ridiculed Su Wan for reaping the fruits of her action, he brought her hot water to soak her feet in and to soothe the meridians.
As the hot spring was not yet open for business, Su Wan and Jiang Xuecheng explored other parts of Beitong the next day. They tried different types of food and before afternoon, they had ended their journey.
Just five minutes after Jiang Xuecheng started his car to drive back to Fontainebleau, he suddenly recalled something.
He turned his head and suggested to Su Wan, “Wan Wan, this place is near Beiling cemetery. Do you want to see your parents?”
Upon hearing this, Su Wan’s eyes widened and she looked doubtful. “How did you know my parents are buried in Beiling cemetery?”
She had never mentioned this to Jiang Xuecheng…
“Is it strange?”
Jiang Xuecheng raised his brows and his voice was as deep as the water. “If one truly loves a person, he would pay attention to her everything.”
When Su Wan heard this, she was taken aback. Her feelings were so complicated it was indescribable. She must have accumulated a few generations of luck to be with this man in this lifetime.
If felt so good being with him and it was like a surprise would spring at any time!
“Yes, if we are going, let’s see if there’s a flower shop along the way.”
It wouldn’t feel good going empty-handed. It would be better to bring some flowers to the cemetery.
When Su Wan had returned from abroad, she had been to Beiling cemetery once to see her parents. However, at that time, she had just been betrayed by Gu Zihang and her shares were in the hands of her uncle. Although the weather then was bright, her heart was sad.
This time, with Jiang Xuecheng accompanying her, she was in good mood.
