The more Du Huimin spoke, the more her emotions surged. Her body trembled vigorously and she staggered to the front. She supported and steadied herself by holding on to the tomb.
Touching the cold and hard tombstone, Du Huimin felt cold air spreading from her fingers to her heart. She took a breath slowly and a cold smile appeared on her beautiful face.
That smile became cold very quickly with a sense of melancholy which could not be concealed.
“Jianyan, Jianyan, Jianyan!”
She called Su Wan’s father’s name. Although her voice was soft, it gave out a feel of her grievances!
If it weren’t for her deep feelings, her tone wouldn’t be so helpless and sorrowful.
Jiang Xuecheng nudged Su Wan’s hand and with his eyes, asked Su Wan silently if Du Huimin liked Su Jianyan.
Su Wan shook her head helplessly, indicating that she didn’t know.
Su Wan’s usual clear eyes were now misty. She looked steadily at Du Huimin from afar. Although she was above forty years of age, she was still charming. Su Wan’s suspicion grew in her heart.
Did Aunty Du really like her father?
However, recalling the time her parents were still alive, Du Huimin had never shown her liking for Su Jianyan.
Du Huimin did not realize she was being watched by two people, perhaps because she was immersed in the load in her mind.
Du Huimin’s body retreated slightly and she finally withdrew her hand from the tombstone.
She half squatted and gently touched Su Wan’s father’s picture. There was a vague melancholy in her eyes, streaked with a bit of craze.
“Jianyan…You might not know that a woman’s jealousy can be very strong. When I knew you and that woman, Xie Lan, died, I was happy, but it has been many years…”
The happiness had slowly faded and what was left was plenty of bitterness.
This world would never have another Su Jianyan.
“Why did you take a fancy to Xie Lan back then? That woman was not as pretty as I was and she was only from a family of scholars. She was no match for me, a girl from a noble family. Why did you like her…”
Looking at Du Huimin’s sad look, Su Wan and Jiang Xuecheng gazed at one another. It turned out that Du Huimin really liked Su Wan’s father and she seemed to know about Su Wan’s parents’ accident.
God, this was big news.
Was her parents’ accident back then not a rainy night accident but a long-planned murder?
Su Wan bit her lips and tried very hard to keep her rationality and to not dash forward to interrogate Du Huimin.
Jiang Xuecheng saw Su Wan’s loss of emotional control. He silently held her hand, trying to give her some strength so she could be at ease.
Su Wan smiled gratefully at Jiang Xuecheng but her pretty face was still pale.
Du Huimin smiled faintly after a long time of silence.
“You didn’t want me to marry Gu Xun back then and told me he was not serious about me but I married him anyway. Do you know why? I married him to get back at you!”
However, who could she get back at?

Su Jianyan had never liked her. He had advised her not to marry the wrong man merely out of concern as a friend.
After she stepped into Gu Group, Gu Xun still womanized outside but she didn’t care. She thought they could each play their own game. Anyway, she had never loved this man, so why would she care if he was loyal to her?
Gu Xun had his women and she had her financial numbers which were cold but would never betray her.
After Du Huimin officially took over the management of Gu Group, she used the resources of her family to allow Gu Group to prosper.
Many people were astounded by Du Huimin’s strength and had never called her ‘Mrs. Gu’. Instead, they called her ‘Madam Du’.
On the contrary, her weak and incompetent husband, Gu Xun, had been addressed as ‘Madam Du’s husband’. Everyone had chosen to forget that Gu Xun was supposed to be the person in charge of Gu Group.
A touch of satire flashed through Du Huimin’s bottomless eyes.
Many people envied her for being the real leader of Gu Group and having abundance of assets as well as an outstanding and capable son. However, only Du Huimin knew she was unhappy.
Hadn’t Su Jianyan and Xie Lan enjoyed their wealth? However, they had now both turned into soil.
Du Huimin’s outstanding son, Gu Zihang, was not close to her and even afraid of her. She had disliked Su Yurou all this while but Gu Zihang insisted on marrying her.
As a wife, her husband was drunk outside all day long and as a mother, her son married a trouble maker. How could she be happy?
At the thought of her son who looked gentle but was actually rebellious, Du Huimin sighed and her eyes were damp.
If not for the sake of Gu Zihang, Du Huimin might not have been able to hold on till now.
Du Huimin shut her eyes and when she opened her eyes again, the tears in her eyes were nowhere to be seen, as if it had all just been an illusion just now.
“Jianyan, I should have hated you and Xie Lan’s daughter but she really looks like you, especially when she smiles. Every time I see her, I think of your smile…”
That moment, a smiling man appeared in her mind. Du Huimin smiled and finally calmed down.
“Jianyan, I’ve said too much today and I hope you don’t mind. I’ll come and see you again next time…if there’s an opportunity.”
Du Huimin stood up. As she had squatted for too long, her legs felt numb. She massaged her legs and was about to return along the marble steps.
She had never thought that the minute she turned around, she would see a shocking sight.
Not far away, a young couple was looking at her and they were Su Wan and Jiang Xuecheng.
Du Huimin froze and paled. She then blurted, “Why are you two here?”
How long have these two juniors been here? How much have they heard?
The afternoon sun in the early summer was warm but when it shone on Du Huimin, she couldn’t feel the warmth. Instead, she felt freezing cold.
“Madam Du, why are you so frightened?”
Jiang Xuecheng held Su Wan’s hand and walked forward smilingly. His eyes swept across the nicely arranged tombs and a sharp light flashed through his eyes.
“Madam Du, we’ve heard what we should and shouldn’t have heard.”
Du Huimin’s eyes darkened and that instant, her heartbeat was leaping at a frenzied speed.
Du Huimin rarely panicked but facing this tall man in his windbreaker, Du Huimin couldn’t help gulping.
Jiang Xuecheng was a difficult to deal with man. Du Huimin had seen how smart he was at her son’s engagement party.
She was afraid that Jiang Xuecheng had planned this visit earlier.
