Everyone looked curiously at Li Peng, who was being dragged away by the security guard. They couldn’t help whispering to one another.
“That man is quite good-looking. His dressing is fine too. Is he really a thief?”
“He is being dragged out by the security guard. What do you think?”
Li Peng avoided the people’s stare unnaturally and he felt awkward.
He had been the class leader when he was younger. In high school and in university, he had been the class monitor for several years. He had never been in such a bad state. From head to toe, which part of him looked like a thief?
Ding! The sound of the lift rang in his ears and the elevator door closed.
Li Peng watched as the people disappeared from his sight. The awkwardness on his face faded as he recalled what Su Wan said. A trace of melancholy flashed through his eyes very quickly.
He indeed regretted but Yang Xiaobing did not. Since the day Li Peng’s mother knew he had signed the divorce agreement, she urged him to marry Yang Xiaobing.
Today, Li Peng came to look for Su Wan, wishing to fight for a chance to see Lin Fei’er.
If Lin Fei’er were to forgive him, he would completely let go of Yang Xiaobing. He would bring Lin Fei’er to A City to live, to have a new environment. Li Peng firmly believed that everything would be better…
Unfortunately, there would never be an ‘if’.
Li Peng stood where he was, spaced out, and the security guard shot him a look of disdain. “We’re at ground floor now. Please.”
This was the first time Li Peng had ever been looked down upon by a security guard. He gaped and just when he was about to clarify that he was not the kind of person the security guard thought he was, the security guard grabbed him by his arm and dragged him out of the elevator.
Li Peng looked down with his dull eyes. He walked slowly toward the main entrance of Di Chen Group. Taking a look at the tall building, he finally walked out.

Su Wan was still sitting in the office. Her good mood had been disturbed by Li Peng today.
She agitatedly pulled at her hair and suddenly decided to visit Lin Fei’er at Zhao Hua Hospital after work today.
After some thoughts, she called Aunty Fang. “Aunty Fang, I wish to visit a friend in the hospital in the afternoon. Could you please help me prepare food with Chinese herbs in it? Please avoid oily and spicy food.”
Aunty Fang was a servant employed by Jiang Xuecheng in Fontainebleau. The first time Su Wan arrived there, Aunty Fang took care of her. Hence, she had a very good impression of Aunty Fang.
On the other end of the line, a gentle voice was could be heard saying, “Alright, Young Madam. I’ll ask Ah Si to send it to you at around 4 pm today, is that alright?”
“Okay, thank you Aunty Fang.”
Aunty Fang smiled gently. “You’re most welcome, this is my duty.”
After Su Wan ended her call, her mood suddenly brightened. She took the documents that Xiao Zhang had sent to her to slowly read about the construction progress of Jinjiang commercial building.
Jinjiang commercial building was a joint project between Di Chen Group and Lu Group. It was still in the construction stage. Su Wan was going to find a time to visit the site with the person in charge of this project representing the Lu Group in the next two days.

Time passed extremely quickly when Su Wan was seriously at work. Suddenly, Su Wan heard a sound of knocking.
“Young Madam, may I please come in?”

Su Wan lowered her head to look at the time on her watch. The time showed on her watch was 4.30 pm. Ah Si was really punctual!
Su Wan let out a soft sigh. She looked up and smiled as she replied, “Ah Si, please come in.”
Just as her voice died down, Ah Si carried a thermal food jar into her office. He nodded respectfully at Su Wan and carefully placed the thermal food jar on the desk.
“Young Madam, this is the food that you’ve asked Aunty Fang to prepare.”
With pleasure, Su Wan received the thermal food jar while she smiled at Ah Si. “Thank you, Ah Si. Sorry to bother you.”
Ah Si nodded simply. After saying, “You’re most welcome, Young Madam.”, he walked out of the office.
After Ah Si left, Su Wan opened the thermal food jar a little. She could smell its strong aroma.
How fragrant! Aunty Fang was quite skilled in cooking!
Aunty Fang had prepared stewed black chicken with Chinese yam and goji berries and had added some other Chinese herbs. It had the effect of enhancing blood circulation, which was very suitable to nourish Lin Fei’er who just had a miscarriage.
Just when Su Wan was about to bring the food to Zhao Hua Hospital, the mobile phone in her handbag vibrated suddenly.
Su Wan was taken aback. She placed the thermal food jar down and took out her mobile phone.
Seeing the number on the phone display, Su Wan widened her eyes slightly. It was a call from Jiang Xuecheng’s grandmother, Luo Xiuxiu!
At the thought of that queer old lady, Su Wan smiled faintly.
She kept feeling Lin Fei’er and Luo Xiuxiu were similar in their personalities to some extent. She hoped Fei’er would be as happy as Luo Xiuxiu even when she grew old.
Su Wan’s finger pressed the answer button and she spoke gently. “Grandmother, this is Su Wan. What can I do for you?”
“Wan, are you and Xuecheng free tonight? The old man and I have been very free lately. We’ve not seen you for quite some time. Will you come to the old mansion to have dinner with us?”
On the other end, Luo Xiuxiu asked smilingly. Her voice was gentle. Although she was asking a question, Su Wan could make out that she was really hoping they would go.
The reason Luo Xiuxiu called Su Wan and not Jiang Xuecheng was because Su Wan was obviously easier to talk to than her icy cold grandson!
Su Wan darted a look at the stewed black chicken with Chinese yam and goji berries and frowned hesitantly. Initially, she had wanted to go to Zhao Hua Hospital to talk to Lin Fei’er.
However, she and Jiang Xuecheng had not been to the Jiang family’s old mansion to visit Jiang Xuecheng’s grandparents since their last visit in the middle of the previous month.
She was their granddaughter-in-law and it was irresponsible of her not to visit them.
When Su Wan was silent for a while, Luo Xiuxiu’s heart missed a beat. She asked immediately, “Wan, we really miss you! Do you and Xuecheng have other plans today? We’ve started preparing dinner…”
Hearing Luo Xiuxiu’s anxious tone, Su Wan’s heart warmed. She knew this old lady genuinely liked her. Her clear eyes smiled.
“Grandmother, don’t worry. I didn’t say I wouldn’t go. It’s just that I’m about to visit a friend in the hospital and might spend some time there. However, I’ll try my best to go over earlier.”
Upon hearing Su Wan’s confirmation, she was relieved. She smiled lovingly and said, “Then, I’ll wait for you and Xuecheng to come over! Oh right, I wish your friend a speedy recovery!”
Su Wan nodded, “Okay, Grandmother. We’ll see you later! Bye!”
The minute Su Wan ended the call, she heard her office door being opened. Besides Jiang Xuecheng, nobody else would come in without noise.
Jiang Xuecheng darted Su Wan an indifferent glance. “What has Grandmother said to you?”
Su Wan widened her eyes in surprise. “Did I speak very loudly?”
Jiang Xuecheng could hear her through the door!
