Looking at Su Wan’s pale face, Jiang Xuecheng opened the thermal lunch box and served a bowl of pumpkin millet congee.
“This is the congee prepared by Aunty Fang. Doesn’t it smell good? You’ve not eaten anything the entire day. Take something bland first to tide you over.”
As Jiang Xuecheng spoke, he took one spoonful of congee and brought it to Su Wan’s mouth.
Su Wan’s face was blushed red. She shook her head and said, “Let me do it myself.”
She was not so weak that she wasn’t even able to lift a spoon. In fact, after she awoke, she felt energetic except for the initial dizziness.
Seeing Su Wan shake her head, Jiang Xuecheng frowned and said beyond question, “You’re a patient and need care. I’ll feed you.”
Su Wan’s eyes flickered. She looked down bashfully and dared not look into Jiang Xuecheng’s eyes. All she did was swallow the congee in silence.
When this man was overbearing, it would be best not to go against his wishes or she’d be the person who would suffer in the end.
When Jiang Xuecheng saw Su Wan’s obedient look, he smiled faintly and took another spoonful of congee.
Su Wan could not imagine how Jiang Xuecheng never got bored repeating the same action when feeding her congee.
This man seemed to be extraordinarily gentle and patient when it came to dealing with her.
At the thought of this, Su Wan’s heart pounded faster and faster.
Suddenly, Su Wan noticed two sets of food. Her eyes lit up and she started to ask, “Xuecheng, is that set of food in the thermal lunch box for you? Have you not eaten too?”
Jiang Xuecheng nodded calmly. Su Wan suddenly got angry. This man didn’t care for and love himself.
What if he were to suffer from gastric problems?
No matter how strong he was, he shouldn’t regard himself as an iron man.
“Bring the other one over here.”
Su Wan glared at Jiang Xuecheng. She took over the other thermal lunch box and found that it was the same pumpkin millet congee and some other dishes.
Jiang Xuecheng looked at Su Wan with devotion and a teasing smile appeared. “Wan Wan, do you want to feed me too?”
Su Wan rolled her eyes but her hand still brought a spoonful of congee to Jiang Xuecheng.
Just then, the door was pushed opened. The nurse who came in saw their intimacy and couldn’t help showing a teasing smile.
“I’m sorry, I just got to know that patient has awoken and so I came in hastily without knocking. Both of you are so loving.”
Su Wan withdrew her hand. What the nurse just said turned her as red as a tomato.
The nurse placed the medical records in her hand down and took out some devices to measure Su Wan’s blood pressure and body temperature once again.
“Your body has returned to normal but to be safe, you may consider staying another night for observation.”
Just when Jiang Xuecheng was about to answer, Su Wan quickly waved her hand and said firmly and softly, “I feel well and I wish to go home.”
Although she knew this was a special ward, the faint smell of disinfectant still lingered in every corner of the ward. Su Wan didn’t like this smell.
“Stubborn.”
Jiang Xuecheng took a sideways glance at Su Wan and caressed her hair. Su Wan was really embarrassed to see this man acting as if no one was around.

When the nurse peeped at both of them, she controlled her laughter. Otherwise, if she were to laugh out loud, Su Wan might want to find a hole on the ground to bury herself in the fastest she could.
Jiang Xuecheng finally moved his eyes away from Su Wan. He glanced quietly at the nurse and with an indifferent voice, replied, “We won’t stay then. We’ll contact the hospital if there are any problems.”
“Alright, Mr. Jiang.”
As the nurse spoke, she nodded respectfully at Su Wan and Jiang Xuecheng. Then, she went out quietly.
Only Su Wan and Jiang Xuecheng were left in the ward. Instantly, Su Wan let out a sigh of relief. She had felt really awkward just now.
Su Wan examined the congee that both of them had eaten. Although the congee was nice, it was a little bland.
As a food enthusiast who loved to eat meat, she wouldn’t be satisfied.
“Xuecheng, I wish to eat meat. Can we find a restaurant after we finish our congee?”
Upon hearing this, Jiang Xuecheng smiled faintly. “You’ve just recovered. You’d better eat the congee. Am I not eating vegetarian food with you?”
“You…”
Su Wan didn’t know how to rebut. She showed her fist and looked as if she wanted to hit Jiang Xuecheng.
Jiang Xuecheng couldn’t help laughing and shook off Su Wan’s fist with the back of his hand.
“Okay, you tidy up a bit and I’ll bring you out to eat meat.”
After ten minutes, both of them appeared at a Chinese restaurant.
Jiang Xuecheng thought Su Wan was here to just try some food after eating her congee but he had never expected her to order plenty. This woman really had a good appetite.
“Stewed mutton, braised tenderloin, yam and ribs soup, garlic lobster…” Su Wan’s eyes swept across the menu and she added another dish. “And a stir-fried vegetable.”
Jiang Xuecheng examined Su Wan silently. In fact, Su Wan’s appearance was deceptive. Those who did not know her well would think she was so thin because had a small appetite.
Was it self-deception to order so many kinds of meat in the beginning and a vegetable dish at the end?
The waiter smiled politely. “Alright, miss, would you like to order drinks?”
Reminded by the waiter, Su Wan’s eyes widened. She had forgotten to order drinks!
Su Wan turned around and nudged Jiang Xuecheng, “Xuecheng, would you like to have some red wine?”
After eating congee, Jiang Xuecheng felt that he had lots of liquid in his body. So, he firmly shook his head. When Su Wan saw his silence, she decided all by herself, “Could we have a cup of corn juice, please?”
“Just a moment, please. The food will be ready soon.”
Su Wan nodded politely at the waiter. Then, she sat opposite Jiang Xuecheng in good spirits.
Jiang Xuecheng’s eyes moved. He looked at Su Wan and asked her a question he wanted to ask, “Wan Wan, are you sure you can finish all these?”
“Don’t doubt my appetite!”
Su Wan supported her chin and a triumphant smile appeared on her face, “Besides, don’t I have you if I can’t finish it all?”
Under the warm yellow light, Su Wan’s smile was mischievous, just like a child’s.
Jiang Xuecheng was helpless. Was he supposed to feel proud of himself when Su Wan found him useful in matters like this?
After seven to eight minutes, the waiter served the corn juice and braised tenderloin. When Su Wan smelt the aroma of the food in the air, she took a deep and satisfied sniff.
Just when Su Wan was about to eat, she heard a girl’s cry from behind all of a sudden.
“Goodness, look at the topic on Weibo, ‘The Young Master’s Wife Committed Adultery!'”
