On the last day of May, the sky was covered with stars. The gentle breeze of the evening was like a gentle hand, caressing one’s cheeks affectionately.
The slightly bright lamp shone on the side of Su Wan’s face, outlining her pretty face.
When Lin Fei’er saw Su Wan, she was taken aback. Suddenly, she felt that Su Wan was more charming than the gorgeous flowers.
Lin Fei’er walked quickly toward Su Wan and winked at her.
“I finally understand why your CEO had taken a fancy to you. It must be because you’re good looking.”
Su Wan glared at Lin Fei’er. Then, she pursed her lips and started to tease, “You have a glib tongue. I don’t know if Jiang Xuecheng married me because I’m beautiful but anyway, I’m interested in his good looks.”
When she recalled the first time they met in March, Su Wan could remember how she was amazed by his facial features.
The evening breeze blew and spread her voice in the wind.
Su Wan looked up at the starry sky above her and felt tomorrow’s weather was going to be great. What was Jiang Xuecheng doing now?
Was he looking at the same sky thinking of her?
At the thought of that man, Su Wan’s beautiful eyes and brows were tinged with warmth. She couldn’t help but look ahead.
Fenghuangtai Hotel was one of the tallest buildings nearby. She stood here and observed the entire city with shining neon lights and endless traffic on the viaduct.
Lin Fei’er saw Su Wan absorbed in her thoughts. At the thought of getting up early tomorrow to finish a huge project, she immediately patted Su Wan on her shoulder.
“Okay, enough of admiring the night. My dear bride, we should be heading back, shouldn’t we?”
Su Wan replied ‘Mmm’ softly and turned her head. Suddenly, she noticed Lin Fei’er’s wet hair.
Su Wan frowned and looked at Lin Fei’er in disagreement.
“Fei’er, why didn’t you dry your hair before coming up? The night wind is strong and you could easily get a migraine.”
As far as Su Wan remembered, Lin Fei’er was a girl who loved her hair like her own life. From when they first met till now, Lin Fei’er had always had long hair and had always taken good care of her hair.
However, ever since she returned from Dong Chen, Lin Fei’er had her hair cut short. Su Wan didn’t know if it was a haircut to break away from love or a new attitude toward life.
“I didn’t see you just now and was anxious to look for you, so that’s why I didn’t dry my hair.”
‘She’s an adult now but she doesn’t know how to take care of herself,’ Su Wan thought.
Su Wan rolled her eyes. “Alright then, let’s go down. I have a dry towel in the room. I’ll dry your hair for you.”

When the two of them returned to the bedroom, Su Wan took out a brand-new towel and began to dry Lin Fei’er’s hair.
Lin Fei’er narrowed her eyes and nestled in Su Wan’s embrace to enjoy her service at ease.
“Wan, tomorrow is your wedding. What are your thoughts?”
Su Wan was stunned for a moment and she was in a trance.
Thoughts?
Su Wan blinked. “I feel very nervous now but look forward to it.”
She had never had such a contradicting feeling before. While she looked forward to a longer evening, she wished the night would be over soon.

Lin Fei’er smiled and held Su Wan’s hand gently. She looked into her eyes seriously.
“I can see that your CEO really likes you. You don’t have to be nervous. Wan, you’ll be happy.”
As Su Wan’s best friend for many years, Lin Fei’er had mixed feelings to see her get married. On one hand, she was happy that Su Wan would finally be taken care of but on the other hand, she was afraid that Su Wan would be betrayed.
As Lin Fei’er spoke, tears suddenly appeared in her black big eyes.
Su Wan understood how Lin Fei’er felt because she had felt the same previously when Lin Fei’er was about to get married. Unfortunately, that scumbag, Li Peng, was blind and did not know how to treasure a good woman like Lin Fei’er.
Su Wan’s eyes were hot and she couldn’t help but feel the urge to shed tears. She choked and hugged Lin Fei’er.
“Fei’er, I’ll be happy. You must be happy too, okay? There’ll be a person who will love you.”
The word ‘happy’ to Lin Fei’er now seemed very far away.
She and Li Peng had loved one another for many years. She had thought that they would grow old together but in the end, he still could not resist the little neighbor’s innocent smile.
The picture of Li Peng and Yang Xiaobing holding hands together suddenly appeared in her mind. Lin Fei’er’s felt a pain in her heart and felt that some wounds would never heal.
The wound was reminding her all the time of the difference between sadness and extreme misery.
She didn’t even know if she had the ability to accept a new relationship again.
Lin Fei’er shook her head. She turned tears into laughter as she did not want to let Su Wan down. She choked and nodded vigorously.
Lin Fei’er thought that the heavens cared for her in the end. She and Su Wan had known one another for more than ten years and compared to friends who come and go, Su Wan was always with her to cheer her on.
The friendship among girls could either be so fragile that it was vulnerable or strong and indestructible.
Lin Fei’er was blessed that the friendship she had was the latter.
Lin Fei’er sniffed and smiled at Su Wan.
“Why do I feel as if Jiang Xuecheng has snatched you away from me? If he’s devoted to you, I’ll give you both my blessing. I hope he can be like this all the time, to protect you from the wind and rain, otherwise…”
Toward the end of her sentence, Lin Fei’er’s tone became a little negative but her meaning was obvious.
Upon hearing this, Su Wan snorted. “Don’t worry, he wouldn’t dare to. If he really does it, I’ll be the first to hurt him. Then, I’ll commit eight to ten adulteries.”
“Anyway, I won’t torture myself.”
Lin Fei’er was affected by what Su Wan said. She stared at Su Wan and with a firm look, said, “Wan, don’t worry, I’ll always be your best friend. If you’re unhappy in the future, you can come and look for me anytime.”
Although Lin Fei’er was hurt by love, the extreme idea of ‘all men in the world were heartless’ did not arise in her heart.
In fact, Lin Fei’er had a good impression of Jiang Xuecheng. From the bottom of her heart, she wished that Jiang Xuecheng’s and Su Wan’s love would last long.
The reason she had said all these was to tell Su Wan that no matter what happened, she would still support her by her side as a friend.
Su Wan understood what Lin Fei’er meant. She nodded seriously. Suddenly, she remembered that Lin Fei’er had not seen their wedding photos.
“Last weekend, Xuecheng and I took our wedding photos. Would you like to have a look?”
“Yes!”
Lin Fei’er’s eyes lit up. Her dark eyes were full of expectation.
Su wan passed her mobile phone to Lin Fei’er and let her go through them one by one. “Fei’er, how is it? Isn’t it great?”
Lin Fei’er nodded and praised.
“I won’t mention the wedding dress. Your CEO is very talented. He even got you to take photos in the ancient style. Look at the immortal look of the two of you—if my novel gets turned into a movie, both of you would be the most suitable male and female lead!”
