The thought of her parents who had passed away brought about Su Wan’s hysterics. She grabbed Jiang Xuecheng’s hand and she choked with sobs.
“Thank you, Xuecheng.”
Jiang Xuecheng let out a long sigh helplessly. Women were indeed an unpredictable species. He didn’t know what he had said or done that had brought about Su Wan’s sobs.
“Wan Wan, you don’t look pretty when you cry. Smile more.”
Upon hearing this, Su Wan tears turned into smiles. She gently hammered Jiang Xuecheng’s back and exclaimed, “I thought of my parents just now. My father liked to cook for my mother too. I was touched, do you understand?”
Jiang Xuecheng kept his smile and stared at Su Wan seriously. His dark pupils were as deep as the stars in the sky.
“If you’re touched, why not deliver a cute baby daughter for me? I think Father-in-Law and Mother-in-Law would be gratified.”
Su Wan rolled her eyes, speechless. Why did she feel that Jiang Xuecheng’s brain was filled with weird things?
However, at that moment, Su Wan was still in quite a good mood and was not affected by Jiang Xuecheng.
“Do you like daughters? I think it’ll be best to have two—a boy and a girl, a pair of dragon and phoenix.”
A combination of an older brother and a younger sister would be good. Su Wan envied girls with older brothers when she was young. She thought those with older brothers would be happy.
Jiang Xuecheng looked at Su Wan and couldn’t help but pinch her nose. “That’s why we have to make use of our time to make babies!”
Su wan blushed again and to divert from this topic, she stood up.
“Alright, we have taken our breakfast. Shall we go to the shopping mall on Jintai Avenue first?”
Yesterday, Su Wan had called her maternal grandfather, Xie Changfeng, to inform him of her marriage.
Although he had scolded her for being too self-willed, he actually loved her and wanted her to bring her husband to meet them. If the man had bad personality, he would definitely convince Su Wan to divorce him.
Su Wan was very confident with Jiang Xuecheng. However, it was their first meetup. So, Su Wan wanted to make sure that Jiang Xuecheng would buy a gift for grandmother and win her grandmother’s heart first. If her grandmother approved of her husband, it would be easier to tackle her grandfather.
Jiang Xuecheng stood up and brought Su Wan to Jintai Avenue by car. Both of them shopped for quite some time and finally decided to buy thousand-year-old ginseng, several boxes of high quality healthcare products for the elderly, and some clothing of that season for her grandfather and grandmother respectively.
Just when both of them were about to leave the shopping street, a little girl selling flowers approached them in a friendly manner and stood right in front of them.
“Hi mister, would you like to buy some flowers? Your girlfriend is very pretty and both of you are a perfect match!”
Both Su Wan and Jiang Xuecheng gave her a slight smile. This little girl looked about fifteen or sixteen, but she was a very sweet talker.
Jiang Xuecheng’s vision swept across the little girl’s flower stall. There were various types of flower bouquets in that stall such as bright red roses, simple and elegant lilies, some fresh little daisies, and pure calla lilies.
However, the flowers in the stall were in abundance and it was obvious that the girl had not sold any flowers that day.
Jiang Xuecheng took a look at Su Wan, who was wearing a white dress, and finally pointed to the crystal-clear lilies. “I’ll take all the lilies here. Please tie them up for me.”

The little girl did not expect Jiang Xuecheng to buy all the lilies. She blinked her eyes in pleasant surprise and kept nodding and thanking Jiang Xuecheng and Su Wan.
The little girl took out a light blue ribbon and tied all the lilies together. Then, she passed the bouquet to Jiang Xuecheng while smiling genuinely, “Thank you, big brother and sister. I wish both of you an eternity of love and happiness!”
Su Wan smiled as she took out some cash from her purse and asked, “Is this enough?”
The little girl was stunned. She counted the cash that Su Wan gave her and answered cautiously, “Ah, you have given me too much. This is enough to buy all my flowers.”
Then, the little girl had wanted to give the extra money back to Su Wan but Su Wan pushed it back to her and gently touched the little girl’s shoulders.
“Keep the change. This is to thank you for your blessings. Today is a little cold. Pack the stall up earlier today and remember to study hard.”
After that, Su Wan and Jiang Xuecheng got into the Koenigsegg Agera R and went to the neighbouring A City to visit Su Wan’s maternal grandparents.
Su Wan hugged that bouquet of fragrant and delicate lilies and she let out a sweet smile. “My grandmother loves lilies. She thinks the meaning of its Chinese name is especially good.”
Jiang Xuecheng, who was driving, glanced at Su Wan with a faint smile. “Wan Wan, you mean you want to give this bouquet of flowers to your grandmother?”
Su Wan rolled her eyes. “Why? Are you not willing?”
“Of course I’m willing. I’ve heard of offering presents provided by someone else to someone, but didn’t expect to encounter this today.”
Jiang Xuecheng seldom gave others presents, but whatever presents he gave out would be treasured by their recipients, with no one willing to re-gift the presents to others. However, Su Wan was very different.
Su Wan’s eyes curved a little just like a crescent and her smile was pure, just like the lilies in her hand.
“I only hope that both of us will be like Grandfather and Grandmother, loving and accompanying one another till we die.”
Jiang Xuecheng’s eyes had a sense of eloquence. His voice was faint but firm as he said, “We will.”
He and Su Wan would neither forsake nor part with each other and would spend the rest of their lives together.
Both of them looked and smiled at one another. An unknown confidence and fondness rose in their hearts.
The person sitting next to her was a person worth spending a lifetime together with.
In such a warm and harmonious atmosphere, both Su Wan and Jiang Xuecheng drove to A City.
When they drove into the high-end villa area, Jiang Xuecheng parked his car and with initiative, took all the gift bags while Su Wan hugged the bouquet of lilies.
Su Wan and Jiang Xuecheng walked out of the lift and after calming down her heart, Su Wan pressed the doorbell.
The clear sound of the doorbell echoed in Su Wan’s heart. At that moment, she was nervous. She knew her grandfather had the arrogance of a scholar and did not like rich men’s sons.
He had not approved of her parents’ marriage in the past. She was not sure if he would associate the two and hate Jiang Xuecheng.
The heavy burglar-proof door was quickly pushed opened and the figures of her grandparents came into Su Wan’s vision.
Her grandfather, Xie Changfeng, was lean and wore a pair of reading glasses. He had the temperament of a scholar and had not changed much. However, her grandmother, Lin Xuan, had lost weight and looked sickly.
Su Wan felt bitter. She shoved the bouquet of lilies to her grandmother. She hugged her grandmother’s petite body and her tears rolled down her cheeks uncontrollably.
“Grandmother, I’ve brought your grandson-in-law to see you. How are you? Are you still taking your medicine?”
