“So, the deals done, correct?” Heine asked.
“We’ll be counting the money first, then the deal will be done” The male magi’s deep voice declared.
“By all means”
After what seemed to be 5 minutes the false apprentice who wasn’t even in the room suddenly appeared in a flash of light that twisted like a scarf.
“Hey, I-uh don’t want to alarm you guys, but there’s like 20 combat familiars coming straight at us and they’re really fucking strong” The false apprentice said with
“How many minutes till they get here?” The lady magi asked, her warm disposition gone and replaced by a cold, and analytical demeanour.
“Around 20 minutes” The cloaked apprentice answered.
“I’m sorry to say this Mr. Nacht, but it seems that we’ll be needing your help” The male magi requested.
“It’s fine, I’ll help" Heine responded to the relief of the other party.
“Anyways, I have a question” Heine said looking at the apprentice.
“And that is?” He asked.
“Are they targeting us, or the ‘Kami Fragment’?” Heine finally asked
“Both, but we’ll be targeted first” The apprentice answered.
“Thanks”
The quartet had moved to a nearby forest to lessen the inevitable collateral damage. They have already finished their preparations for the fight to the death with the incoming familiars with eight minutes to spare.

“Hey, if we’re gonna go into combat then wouldn’t be important to at least know each other’s names?” Heine asked.
“Don’t you already know who we are though?” The pair of magi responded to Heine’s question with confusion.
“I was talking to your apprentice” Heine clarified.
““Oh”” they said at the same time.
“Anyways, what should I call you?” Asked Heine to the magi’s apprentice.
“You can call me Akira” The false apprentice now known as Akira responded.
‘He’s Japanese’ Heine thought.
“So, Akira, are you a CQC specialist?” Heine gave another question.
“Yup, how could you tell?” Akira said.
“Well, your partners don’t seem to be the type to get up close and physical. Not saying they won’t, but they just seem to prefer long-distance combat” Heine answered.
Truth be told, he reached deduction of Akira being a CQC fighter from his subtle movements, not from his partners. Although they did give some extra information that helped confirm Akira’s specialty.
“I see. You’re quite the analytical person” Akira said with audible wonder.
“It’s a refined talent” Heine said with a slightly prideful smirk.
