“Phewwwww…..that was a rush" said Kevin as he fell face flat on his big bed with a weirdly brown coloring.

From trouble on the first day of school to a kids brawl and the intense dinner; I feel like I have been awake for 10days……is everyday going to be like this?

At least the gains where good; discovered 4 new promising prospects, a pet monster, genius status. I still can’t believe it, am a genius, I know it’s thanks to the body by the system but still I love it; when I hear it.

Haha

And the monster pet what should I get <giggles> I always wanted a pet in my last life; but I was too either too young or too busy. I saw a book with a lot of awesome monsters from small puffs of soft cloud cuties called sky sprites to giant monster polar bears with glowing ramming horns; unbelievable creatures like twin headed war horses.

I just don’t know what I should get in between cat, reptile, dog, bird or humanoid monster…..there is a lot to choose from. Not to mention there are combat , support and luxury categories to. There are some that fit everywhere like the battle unicorns but apparently those things are too expensive to buy and can only be got by nobles.

I will just have to choose when I get there but a support type would be best but they are rare too…..anyway I also have to visit my guys and win them over to work for me.  So much to doooooooo…….sigh…damn.

The next day after school,

“hey, Jett once you finish your meeting with instructor Darius find me at the orphanage, am taking you to get an opportunity.” Said Kevin. Earlier that day, Jett had been asked by the instructor to meet him after class.

When Kevin got to the orphanage, he found Otis drawing Chinese dragons on a rectangular paper that looked old. Gus and Zola were no where to be seen.

“Hey Otis, what are you doing?” asked Kevin in a jovial mood.

“Oh hey, come help me draw these.” said Otis pointing Kevin to a pot of ink and some paper.

“Ok….what are these?” asked Kevin as he got a paper and pen.

“These are my future…hehe" said Otis as he chuckled.

Kevin just started drawing since he could see that Otis was in a wonderland world as he drew the dragons.

After a few minutes of drawing , Otis finally seemed to get back into reality although he seemed to a little drunk with joy as he kissed the little papers.

“talisman!!!” Kevin was shocked, is it that easy to makes these? No, it can’t be. “Otis, where did you learn to do this.”

Otis turned with a big smile and said “that’s a dangerously expensive secret, my friend…..ask the boss"

Hahaha

Otis laughed in a cute but evil 4 year old voice then said “am actually surprised my prank didn’t work…..and you didn’t cry like Gus”

“Prank!, what?” Kevin exclaimed.

“hehe…wait for big brother.” said Otis.

After an hour of waiting impatiently,

Jett finally came and seemed to have a worried expression on his face. Gus and Zola had come arrive a little early and seemed to be angry with Otis who was dancing all evening.

Kevin asked “ what’s going on Jett" in a worried voice.

“ its nothing big, but we have to talk” Jett replied as he signaled the other kids in the room to leave except Otis, Gus and Zola.

“Okay now, Kevin we need to get somethings sorted out and we need your help" said Jett and continued “the black claw gang wants to capture us and I know you are like rich and stuff, so could you get us jobs or a way to make some money to buy some path books and stuff…..we will do anything……please help us.”

Jett had rapped the last parts that Kevin almost didn’t hear them showing that he was in a real tough position so Kevin calmly said “ slow down,  I will help you …just tell me everything.”

Jett sighed in relief and said “ the black claw is the gang that runs the dark scenes in our little town. They are dark job owners and are related to every crime that happens in the village. They recruit minions from the orphanages and the slums. They offer them resources to open up job classes with combat power to these kids and they accept because most children don’t want to grow up to live with the farmer job as there primary. The only jobs they help you get thou are dark job classes that are illegal by the church.”

“So they are using the poor kids in the village to continuously increase there numbers, did they approach you” Kevin asked.

“Yes, Darius Sekten is one of them and even Zach with other older kids joined there. First Zach proposed to us 4 to join after we took over the orphanage,  then Darius stepped in since we refused to join. He said if we don’t join he will sell us off to the slavers" replied Jett.

“That basted” shouted Kevin. “guys follow me” said Kevin as he led them to his house.

As they walked, Kevin asked about the talismans and Jett today him how they had found the ruins of an old castle in the forest outside the village, he then promised to take him there and Kevin made the promise not to tell anyone else about it.

When they arrived at his home, the kids seemed to have reached paradise as they stared at every single thing like they were tourists. Kevin chuckled a bit as he led them to the gardens in the back.

He then left them to Jackie who made them tea and went to talk to his father.

In the mansion office,

Kevin sat staring at his old man as if they where in an old west gun slinging duel.

“ I have a proposition for you “ said Kevin in a businessman voice. He knew his father loved it when he talked like a merchant so he used it instead of asking for a favor like a normal kid.

“ am listening” said his father.

“I am willing to give you information about the Black claw gang and even one of there operatives” said Kevin.

His father had a worried look on his face as he was scared for his son getting involved with such criminals but he knew his kid would ask for help if he got in trouble so he continued to play along and asked “Why would I want such information?”

“Well, we both know that your merchant businesses are greatly disrupted by the bandits in the black claw gang. If you got valuable information about them and sold it to your guild, it would increase your merits and your standings not mentioning that it good for business if you can handle them.”

“Okay, you got me. I need the information, so what do you want?” this father asked.

“Nothing much just ensure you deal a lot of damage to the gang, I also want to adopt 4 people from the orphanage as a my entourage with Jackie in charge of there resources.” replied Kevin.

“this all depends on if the information is good enough. What resources are we talking about? Make your terms more clear otherwise " said Steven as he smiled.

“I need elite level resources from the basics to anything that could make them any better, I can assure you that their potential is not small and they will definitely be assets” said Kevin rashly as he had messed up when his father had to remind him to be specific with the condition. He realized that he could have been screwed over by his opponent if it was anyone else but his father.

“if they fail to show results, you will also pay the price so I hope you will choose wisely. Now tell me the information.” Said Steven.

Kevin told his father everything he knew about the gang and gave him the names of the instructor and the kids already recruited.

“First, I need to capture and interrogate the people you mentioned so that I have more solid information. If this pay out better, I will definitely reward you more. For now you can pick up your friends and make your group since I am satisfied with this. Find me in the evening” said his father as he rushed out.

The information was enough to deal damage to the recruiting process of the gang that terrorized the region. This was bound to give him big merits from both the local authorities and the merchant guild. The thanked God for his son  as this was a big blessing to his standing and influence.

Merchants had money so they had the power to buy strength and luxuries but what they didn’t have was the influence. Influence was a very important thing in their world since it was the main thing that attracted the attention on nobles. The attention of nobles was a double edged sword but merchants were risk takers and didn’t care.
