Chapter 166: Lord Ning is Here (1)
Feng Yuchen wasn’t a bad person. His previous pushing manner was only because of his deep emotion. He did nothing wrong, after all.
Mo Qianxue entered the front door and called softly, “Cousin.” She didn’t know how to put it so that he could move on.
“Xue…” Feng Yuchen turned around and looked at her, his eyes still deep and sorrowful but not excited or crazy like before. He said calmly, “Your injury still hurt?”
He didn’t blame her for keeping him out of the door or complain that she no longer cared for him. In his eyes, there was only affection and care.
Mo Qianxue found her throat choking.
She wasn’t afraid of his tough attitude but feared the loving way he looked at her. She remembered the first time she met him, in the shower of peach blossom. His figure was upright like a pine tree, proud like a morning sun. Under his blade-shaped eyebrows were the starry eyes which stared at her with excitement…
A human’s heart meant to be soft! Facing such deep love, even if she didn’t love him, she didn’t want to hurt him.
Besides, the affectionate eyes always reminded her of the scene she saw in Xue’s dream. The two of them loved each other, he playing sword while she wiping sweat for him, ordinary but loving.
The warm picture made her so sad that she couldn’t bear to take a look of the sadness flowing out of those eyes.
She would rather him questioning her upon entering the door, so that she could follow his anger and mess up the relation. Anyway, Ning Shaoqing had promised to pay him back twice. In the future, they could care more about the Feng family. The cousin relationship was too complicated.
How could she say it under such greetings and eyes?
However, it’d be better to end it quick!
Mo Qianxue turned away and didn’t look at him but stared at the antique vase in the front hall. Only in this way could she say harsh words.
“Cousin, you know that I’m married. Although for some reason Shaoqing can’t hold the wedding right now, I’ll wait until he can. If you could forget the past, I’ll still regard you as family. Or…”
Mo Qianxue narrowed her eyes slightly. She found it hard to continue.
Feng Yuchen’s heart sank to the bottom. He was only delayed by something and didn’t send her that day. He was just half a year late, and they became complete strangers!
However, who could he blame? Last time when she saved him from the sword, he had sworn: he wanted her! But only when she was willing to. He wouldn’t force or hurt her…
Before Mo Qianxue felt stumped, Feng Yuchen hid his reluctance and smiled, “Of course I’m your family…”
Just be her brother now! Otherwise, it seemed they couldn’t even be relatives.
As the big stone on her heart was lifted, Mo Qianxue smiled brightly, “Thank you!” Her tone was light and sincere. This must be a good day that she had completed two major things.
Her thanks filled Feng Yuchen’s eyes with one more trace of loneliness, but it also relieved him.
He didn’t say anything but smiled, “It’s time. Don’t you want me to stay for a meal?”
Mo Qianxue instantly understood why he came at this point every time. He wanted to freeload!

Since they had made it clear, it didn’t matter to have dinner with him. Mo Qianxue grinned, “Then, cousin, please stay to have a meal…”
During the meal, Mo Qianxue didn’t know what to say, because she knew little about him. She just kept silent. It wasn’t strange for nobilities to remain silent during a meal, so Feng Yuchen didn’t found it awkward and told her a lot of interesting things when she was little. He also picked dishes for her for a few times.
She took it and thanked him. Everything seemed harmonious.
They finished dinner like this. It wasn’t early, and Feng Yuchen said goodbye and left.
Afterwards, when Mo Qianxue went back to her Snow, the sky already turned dark.
She just entered the yard and found that the door of her room was shut and Shiwu guarded outside with a strange look.
As Mo Qianxue walked over, Shiwu whispered, “Lady, lord Ning is here… He seems not happy…”
Ning Shaoqing was here… Mo Qianxue stilled and didn’t show anything, but nanny Mo frowned and said to herself: oh no! He must have seen the picture on the desk…
Mo Qianxue was the legal daughter of the Founder mansion, so whether she liked it or not, there would be servants following around her when she went out. Hence, before she left, she took with her nanny Mo, Chuyi, two nannies, Zhiling and Zhiqiao, a huge group of people. The servants who guarded the court gate were always two sisters, while inside the yard were Zhihe and Zhizhu.
Nanny Mo followed Mo Qianxue closely. She was a martial artist who had acute hearing and was clever. Upon hearing the word Ning, she quickly said that lady to wanted take a bath after this tiring day and asked Zhiling and Zhiqiao to go to the kitchen to see whether warm water was ready.
Zhiling and Zhiqiao left. Mo Qianxue glanced to inside the yard. The wing room on the side was lit with dim candlelight. Only Shiwu was in the yard. Mo Qianxue whispered, “Where are the rest?”
The fewer servants knowing the relationship between she and Ning Shaoqing, the better.
Shiwu answered with pride, “I used the excuse that lady would wear the light-blue dress to attend peach blossom party tomorrow and let Zhihe and Zhizhu to embroider more peach flowers on it. Now, they are in the embroidery room to do the work.”
Mo Qianxue hummed a yes and pushed the door open. The room wasn’t lit and a little darl.
She stepped into the room and found it in low chilly pressure in the early summer night. She even couldn’t help hugging herself to guard off the bitter coldness.
Her room had three sections. At the entrance was the living room for receiving friends and leisure activities. In the middle of it were a wooden coach on which was a small tea table. On the left of the living room, separated by a silk screen, was a small study. On the right, separated by a wall shelf, was her bedroom.
In the dim light, Ning Shaoqing was sitting at the desk. Even through the silk screen, his delicate pretty face came right into her sight.
In the shadow, there wasn’t a bit gentleness on he. His lips pressed hard. The dark eyes on the stern face shot out boiling rage.
Nanny Mo was a little worried and followed her into the room. Then she lit up the candle in the living room and bedroom but didn’t dare to do the same in the study. Hesitating for a while and taking a glance at Ning Shaoqing and then at lady, she sighed, walked out and closed the door.
Alas! The picture was weird but depicted well Su Qi’s expression, which meant it could be completed without careful observation.
It made sense that lord Ning was mad!
Seeing Ning Shaoqing didn’t talk, Mo Qianxue also wore a cold face. Since she was injured, he didn’t come to see her for so many days or send her any message. Now he suddenly showed up with this face for no reason?
She hadn’t married him yet, and he treated her in this way. If they really held a wedding, would he punish her to kneel in the ancestral hall for a trivial mistake? No way to develop the bad habit!
Thinking of this, Mo Qianxue didn’t walk to the study but instead sat down on the couch, poured herself a cup of tea, slightly frowning but carrying a small smile, “It’s not dark completely. Why is lord Shaoqing so free to visit me?”
That was an aloof addressing term!
Obviously, Ning Shaoqing didn’t expect to hear that. In rage, his eyes flickering with slyness, he smiled and teased, “If it’s completely dark, how can I appreciate my wife’s wonderful master piece?”
