Chapter 43: Revenge, Stones from Above

Then, the dock turned even more chaotic. Two officers wearing black uniforms rushed over, pointing and shouting, but evidently in vain.

Poor management! Mo Qianxue stopped looking at them. This kind of scene was too boring. She should get down to business.

She entered a big room writing Managing Office in the warehouse, but there was no one.

Noises from outside came to her ears and an old woman came out from the back door. She seemed like a steward taking care of boiling water and cleaning the house. Seeing the visitor was a girl, the old woman should wave to drive away Mo Qianxue and retreat back to her room.

Mo Qianxue rubbed her nose and turned around. She didn’t think the old woman was an easy-going one. It wouldn’t be hard to ask one person among so many people at the dock.

After figuring out that the officers of Managing Office were exactly those at the dock, Mo Qianxue walked to them and waited on the side. She planned to go for inquiry after the mess was settled.

But she waited for long, and after that owner and a few of people in charge left, there were other people walked there.

Mo Qianxue didn’t want to wait any longer and stepped forward. At this moment, another porter was knocked again. His body slanted and almost hit one officer into the water.

Mo Qianxue walked quicker and pulled the sleeve that floated in the air of that person.

With this pull, the man stopped leaning back and stood up straight. But afterwards, the person waved his sleeve with aversion and, without giving a look to Mo Qianxue, began to carefully examine his sleeve, fearing she had torn it up.

Next to her was a thin officer. What he saw was a village girl, very young, helping another person but being given a cold shoulder. She readily accepted that, neither annoyed nor angry. The officer nodded with appreciation.

This little woman mustn’t be an ordinary villager and he shouldn’t neglect her. Therefore, he walked over and thanked her on behalf of his colleague, “Thank you so much for helping us, otherwise he would fall into the water. In such cold winter, he would suffer a lot.”

Seeing that this thin officer should be so polite, Mo Qianxue, a little surprised, also greeted him with courtesy, “You’re welcome, officer. I just stretched out one hand. No big deal.”

Mo Qianxue’s modesty made the officer shake his head politely, “Don’t call me officer. My family name is Tang. I’m the manager of the dock. You can call me manager Tang. May I have your name?”

“My husband’s family name is Ning.”

“Mrs. Ning, do you come here to find us?”

Mo Qianxue replied, “Yes. I need to talk with you. I want to buy a piece of land here to build a small restaurant and run some small business.”

Before manager Tang responded, the fat officer cut in, “Are you crazy? Buy a piece of land? Build a restaurant? And run some small business?”

He seemed to have heard the funniest joke in the work, pointing at Mo Qianxue, cursing and laughing, “What an arrogant woman! You? A village woman? You must be crazy! Go away go away! How dare you stand in the way of your officer grandfathers?”

Mo Qianxue frowned and pissed off. A ghost of loath detesting flickered in her eyes. How she wished to take out the silver bill and throw in his face!

What a hateful man! Not only did he refused to provide real help, but also spit out sarcasm and make fun of her.

She cursed in secrecy, but as a matter of fact, she did need their help, she couldn’t start a fight with him right now.

At the sight of Mo Qianxue’s expression, manager Tang also displayed a bit of disgust. He didn’t like the person’s intervention either, but he was the nephew of the sectary general of Changyou city, not someone to make trouble with. Therefore, manager Tang persuaded calmly, “Manager Yu, don’t make a decision so fast.”

“Only a crazy woman, manager Tang don’t…ouch…”

A stone out of nowhere flew over and hit right at his head. Instantly a bloody wound was formed, and it bled desperately.

Karma was here! Mo Qianxue almost burst into laughter to the heaven.

She struggled to hold it back to not show it on her face, so she looked away to the cargo ships over there. The corners of her lips twitched from the titter.

Frightened by the attack, manager Yu now had no time to pay attention to Mo Qianxue, pressing the bleeding forehead with one hand and looking around and cursing, “Who did it? Come out…”

It must be one of the porters who had been cursed by him. He didn’t dare to talk back but stabbed behind his back. Manager Yu pressed his head and looked to the ships, cusring again, “Which asshole…”

Before he finished, here came another stone. This time, it hit right at his mouth. When Mo Qianxue realized it and turned back, with a ‘bang’, one of his teeth fell off and fresh blood oozed out of his mouth too.

This time, Mo Qianxue was shocked too, but in a while later, smiles surfaced up in her eyes.

This must be a filthy-mouthed person and had offended someone narrow-minded earlier this morning.

However, this narrow-minded person was really to her liking. These two stones were so cheerful!

In the woods not far from the dock, an elegant figure sat on tree branch and watched what was happening here. The face was sullen, and a few stones were in the hand. The face and mouth displayed a smile only when the person saw Mo Qianxue.

The running blood already scared that manager Yu who had been putting on airs and striking an attitude.

In a fluster, he checked around but found no one suspicious. He wisely chose to shut up, though now he couldn’t speak a word even if he wanted to.

He seemed to fear that the next would be a huge stone to smash his head, so with one hand pressing the head and the other the mouth, and with terror, scare, viciousness and other various expressions in his eyes, he fled away as fast as he could.

After he left, Mo Qianxue pulled her face and carefully watched the messy scene between the ships and trestles, as well as manager Tang. The uprightness in his eyes gained her good opinion. Therefore, she wanted to befriend with this person because later in the future, if she wanted to settle down at this place, she would need his help now and then.

The root cause of the messy dock might be a start. She had arrived for a while, coughing, “Manager Tang, there is only one reason why the upload and download of goods at the dock is in a mess.”

Looking at this calm woman before him, manager Tang, though a little surprised, thought to himself that she might have a good idea, so he asked politely, “Oh? You want to share with me?”
