Chapter 3: The Legendary Rennayan

Atlas looked at Zenu with a disappointed face.

"It was inevitable, you pathetic primates, have stalled me for far too long."

He gripped his right hand in a fist in front of him.

"I've grown tired with each passing day. My goal within my grasp...But you couldn't bring me one!"

Zenu looked up at him and replied.

"The Legendary Rennayan... an anomaly we haven't seen in 1400 years..."

He prepared a defensive stance.

"You expected us to be able to find them and bring them to you? Why do search for such power?"

Atlas looked at him with the largest grin on his face.

"To bring humanity as whole closer to God."

Zenu chuckled.

"By bringing destruction and fear with you?"

Atlas flicked his wrist with his sword in his left hand and a nearby building collapsed.

People screamed inside.

"It's just more fun that way, besides you primates, seem to grow stronger when placed in... difficult situations maybe with the nudge we are giving them, they just might show up."

Atlas replied, as he lunged with sonic speed.

Attacking the king with an onslaught of uncountable sword strikes.

The king parried as many strikes as he could, with blue fire burning his blade bright.

However each strike took everything he had to block and after several strikes one few one would make it through.

Atlas disarmed him on the last strike, sending his sword flying nearby.

Zenu jumped back.

He was barely able to stand.

His vision fogged up.

He had severe lacerations all over his body and one arm sliced clean off.

His new transformation started to flicker with each breath he took.

He was at his limit.

Atlas continued.

"Besides you have committed the greatest sin against me. By going behind my back and creating that serum of yours... It's finished isn't it?"

Zenu was shocked.

He knew they were being watched, but he didn't think that the Emperor would find out about the serum.

"Where is it?"

Atlas followed up.

He started walking towards Zenu.

A shower of sparrows made out of ice poured down on him and froze him in a block of ice, shaped out of birds.

"Zenu!"

Safiyah yelled at the top of her lungs.

She had turquoise vein marks running all over her body, streaks of silver hair and her eyes glowed slightly.

The Rennayans second form of ascension.

She flew from behind a tower,  rushing to his side healing as much of his wounds as possible.

He looked at the direction she came in, and saw the Aratris soaring into the sky, about to leave the atmosphere.

"They're safe."

He whispered.

"That's all that matters."

Safiyah looked at him and gave him a kiss.

"Let's fight him together"

"Of course... In life or death, you're the only one I want by my side."

He replied, looking into her eyes.

They both gathered all energy their bodies would allow them to

Then shattered.

Atlas climbed out of the ice block.

"Queen Safiyah... So good of you to join us. I'm in a good mood right now and I wanted to share it, with everyone... Can't you see?"

He smiled while raising both of his hands to the sides indicating the carnage around them.

"Alcra, set up the world telomonitor"

Atlas said into the comm plugged in his ear.

A few moments later, massive screens appeared all over Rennaya in the skies above the populated areas.

With the scene of destruction in the royal capital and the royal couple, about to engage with Atlas.

"People of Rennaya!"

Atlas spoke with the most eccentric voice

The entire planet heard him.

"I apologize but your time has come, you have all failed me and I am not taking it personally, I just don't have anymore use for you vermin, except your lifespans."

He smiled and chuckled.

"Which I will gladly except unconditionally...You see, my children need them, so they will be helping themselves."

People across Rennaya, watched terrified by what they are witnessing and started to lose hope.

"As a gift though, I will allow you all to watch the execution of your King and Queen."

As he said that the royal couple charged him.

The fight lasted eight minutes.

Resulting in the city being partially frozen and on fire, but even more so destroyed.

Zenu was the sitting against the wall, with his own sword protruding out of his chest.

It was getting harder to breathe.

He was dying.

He looked up

His wife lying on the ground, bruised, bloodied and unable to move with Atlas standing on top her.

About to plunge his sword into her heart.

She turned her head towards Zenu.

Softly,with a tear rolling down the side of her face.

"My king..."

His eyes wide.

Unable to believe it.

" My queen..."

Atlas plunged his sword through her heart, killing her.

Tears streamed down Zenu's face.

However he maintained his remaining strength for his voice.

"Your search for power... will never be a peaceful one... and... and one day the universe... will come collect what is due..."

As the last of his strength faded away, his gaze settled on his wife's corpse.

"I'll be joining you soon, my love."

Then he gave his last breath.

Atlas was unfazed.

"Sure."

He he looked up at the sky.

Smoke and dust covered the clouds, lightning struck every few moments.

He wondered who was on the spaceship earlier that left the planet from the Hallantium's direction and where it was going.

Then he recalled there being a boy, when he first attacked them.

"Alcra! Send a few scouter ships after the spaceship that left the planet about 15 mins ago. Bring back the boy alive... Tell the squads going should they fail to bring him back they will be incinerated by me personally."

"Yes Father, I will send them out immediately."

She replied, as Rennaya fell...
