"..." I was sitting on the ground cross legged, meditating...

"Just remember what you have learned so far, Ru." Silvia spoke with a gentle tone.

My forehead was full of sweat… I could hear the laughter of my sisters playing around with the rest of my lovers...

"Let's wrap up this lesson, okay?" Arrat said to the rest of my tribe...

It has been three days since our wedding ceremony.

Things have been busy these last three days…

I suppose I should start by talking about what happened after the party.

I woke up the next day really early in the morning without a hangover despite stupid amounts of cider…

Electra and Silvia were hugging me like a teddy bear.

Astera was already awake. She said that she needed to leave because she needs to take care of a person and she can't be away for too long.

She said that she would talk to me later before kissing me and teleporting herself away.

Arrat was hugging Elise, Junko and Lara while sleeping on the ground. She had a large mug on her hand.

Mara was cuddling with my sisters. She was sleeping under the goblin cuddly pile...

Orella was nowhere to be seen, Rigant and Marcus were also gone.

However… For some reason, Timothy was still catatonic and stuck on one of the beams of the ceiling…

I think I vaguely remember how my sisters and I did that… Astera was the one who orchestrated that prank though…

It was a hassle to bring him down from there without Electra's and Arrat's help. They were still sleeping...

We spend the rest of the day just talking and playing fun games at the inn.

That was until a very happy mob consisting of all the people of Norvek went to the inn to meet me…

Apparently, I am their "Golden Hero" or their "Golden Saviour."

Needless to say, they started a party in my honour.

I have never felt so embarrassed in my life… Not gonna lie, it also felt good being an honoured guest.

Sigh… I'm embarrassed to admit this but all of the children in town thought I was a child as well…

One young girl even asked me to be her 'Golden Prince…' Silvia and the others had a good laugh about it…

What did I say to her? Well…

Electra took me away before I could answer… She wanted me to taste a special dish that the townsfolk had prepared...

I was later told that Arrat had told the girl that she's welcome to join our family when she's old enough…

So I will probably need to come back in the next 10 years or so to look for her. Her name was Anne...

I drank a lot to forget about that uncomfortable moment...

The next day I actually had a hangover… I thought my head would actually explode…

After having breakfast and flirting with my lovers for a bit and also being asked for my autograph by some of the townsfolk, Arrat, Electra, Silvia and Elise pulled me aside to have a talk with me…

It was finally revealed to me what they were talking about when Silvia, Elise and Junko were in the house of the Mayor, A.K.A Timothy.

It turns out that Orella, Timothy and by extension Lara used to belong to a noble house from this Kingdom.

Ah! Lara and Orella gave them permission to tell me a few details. Lara wants to tell me the full story later when it is just the two of us...

Anyway, there's apparently some bad blood between them and some other nobles from the kingdom and that kinda caused the fall of their noble house.

Orella and Timothy were the only survivors. They lived as commoners for two decades until an opportunity arose to reclaim the prestige of their house.

Norvek is their opportunity. Well, not the town itself, but the project to build a highway to Sholukhur is their opportunity.

Orella and Timothy believed that the Count of Alorari and other nobles might have been behind the bandits, supporting them with funds for supplies.

Orella, Rigant and Timothy want us to stay here until the project is done. According to Silvia, if everything goes well, the highway should be finished in at least 4 years…

Frankly, since they are my family now, I wouldn't have a problem staying here to protect them.

I would be bored though… I kinda want to go on more adventures…

Elise also said something about us joining the adventurer's guild and meeting her mother, little brother and friends who live in Alorari, a town several kilometers north from here…

I didn't really know what to do…

On one hand, I really want to meet Elise’s family and friends and become an adventurer to explore this world…

On the other hand, I don’t want to leave these people to fend for themselves since they have been so nice to me. I also don’t wanna leave Lara’s family unprotected…

Luckily for me, I didn’t need to choose.

Silvia told me about her plan to protect this town without us needing to be actually here.

Basically, the plan involves my tribe. My mother, my father, my stepmothers, and my little siblings, to be precise.

Speaking of them! I was surprised with some good news and some really bad news…

"Ru! I was told by your wife that I'm very proficient!" My mother, Fa, suddenly hugged me from behind. She interrupted my meditation.

The good news is that my mother managed to evolve.

She evolved into a hobgoblin. There's a small horn on her forehead. She's 1.10 meters tall. Her black hair is still long, but it is no longer unkempt... Now it has been arranged in a ponytail. We really have the same eyes. We have blue eyes, in case you don't remember.

I know this might sound weird, but evolving definitely made her cuter somehow… That's a thought that will never leave my mind though…

"Is that so, Mom? I'm glad. It won't take long for you to be able to speak fluently with the people here." I said to my clingy mother.

I forgot to mention why I have gotten better and better at the Human Language.

Electra and Arrat told that it is because of the Hero job. It is apparently boosting my abilities to learn new things.

That's kinda nice, in my opinion. I might actually have a chance to learn elvish now! It is a really difficult language...

Anyway, where was I… Bad news… Right…

I have two of those…

The first one is about the rest of my tribe… None of them besides my mother have managed to evolve…

I mean, that's not really bad, they just need to level up a bit more and they will eventually manage to do it.

This is related to the other bad news…

You see… The relationship between my mother and father has soured… They can no longer stand each other…

I wish I was kidding...

They can't even see each other! My mother said that she will no longer be the mate of my father…

She said that she would come to have adventures with me. That I should be a good son and support my mother.

My wives and I agreed to take her with us… Arrat and Electra were muttering about something for quite a while… I couldn’t hear anything...

Sigh… How did this happen? I'm gonna be really honest with ya, this is my father's fault…

At first, when he discovered how to evolve, he started hunting as much as physically possible for him in order to evolve just like us.

According to my mother and stepmothers, he started to ignore them and started hunting on his own. He was even ignoring my little siblings…

Ever since we were gone, he didn’t utter a word to the rest of the tribe.

Then… My mother who was hunting with the rest of my tribe, suddenly fell unconscious after killing a large amount of wolves.

A few hours later, she woke up as a Hobgoblin after finishing the Trial of Instinct.

My father was not happy about it… Like… At all...

He is jealous that my mother evolved before him. He started complaining about the ‘fact’ that my mother is a 'garbage' hunter, she shouldn't have evolved before him, because he has been hunting and leveling up for longer.

My mother pointed out his hypocrisy almost immediately. She was hurt by how he reacted when me and my sisters evolved versus when she evolved…

And she does have a point… I’m kinda disappointed in him…

Anyway, my Father basically started a fist fight with my mother and she beat the shit out of him.

Not kidding, his green face was literally purple when we went to the castle to bring my tribe here.

Well, because of that my father is no longer a member of our tribe… He didn’t come with us to Norvek. He just walked away and went to stay in the cave where I was born…

That was yesterday…

Sigh… I don’t see my parents for two days and they just engage in domestic violence and basically get through a very messy divorce…

I don’t really feel sad about it… Just disappointed, I guess… Electra, Arrat, Astera, Silvia, Elise, Junko, Mara and Lara have all been pretty kind to me, my sisters, my little siblings, and my stepmothers…

My siblings and stepmothers WERE incredibly pissed though… They said that if they saw my father, they might beat him up until he is purple. They don’t call him ‘Dad’ anymore… They call him ‘coward.’

I took matters into my own hands and took our tribe hunting. It was just us… My little siblings were happy that I fulfilled my promise with them…

It was a good way of dealing with our feelings about this whole ordeal...

I’m gonna stop talking about this topic now… The wound is still kinda fresh…

Anyway, Silvia’s plan is to basically leave my stepmothers and my little siblings here to act as Norvek's guards.

Of course, they won’t be working for free. Timothy (he finally stopped being catatonic, thankfully…) and Orella said that they will be paid for their service as guards and they will receive lodging.

Silvia also told me that this might be good for my family members since they can get some interaction with other people.

I think it will be good for them. We will be visiting everyday if possible.

How, you ask? Well… Silvia just used her wacky magical powers and teleported her shack to the outskirts of Norvek.

She also carved a magic circle in the basement of the inn. The magic circle is connected directly to Silvia’s castle. Only Orella, Timothy and my family know about this magic circle.

We can basically come back to Norvek instantly if we want to.

Hmm? How reliable as guards will my stepmothers and little siblings be? They will be very very capable.

How do I know this? They have been basically training and studying all day today.

They have high Grades on their combat skills and… Arrat gave me a bit of a spoiler… My stepmothers will go through the Trial of Instinct tonight. My little siblings will go through the trial next week.

With all of them evolving into hobgoblins, I know that Norvek will be safe. They are a tough bunch. We will still visit everyday to check on them. They can also come to the castle to see us.

“Fa, is pretty good at the Human language. I think she could be fluent in the next three days if she puts up the effort.” Arrat said with a confident smile.

“Hehe!” My mother puffed her chest with pride while having a smug expression.

“Fa is also extremely intelligent. We should teach her some math, I think she will like it.” Arrat said while looking at my mother.

“What’s that?” My mother asked while tilting her head.

Ah… Math… My sworn enemy and my worst subject during my academic life… I’m so glad that I don’t have to go to school!

“You should review some things as well, Ru.” Silvia said with a teasing smile.

“Why would you do that to me, Silvia…? I thought you loved me…” I was about to cry…

Hmmm? The goddesses? They are going to come with us as well. To make sure something like what happened at the temple doesn’t happen again, they are using some sort of godly disguise combined with some illusions. They should look like normal girls to the common people.

“Ah! Ru, I need to check on your stepmothers and Electra! Fa, do you mind coming with me for a bit?” Arrat smiled at my mother.

My mother simply nodded happily and walked towards the goddess.

“We’ll be back soon.” Arrat smiled mischievously and winked several times at Silvia.

Weird… I feel like something’s going on…

Silvia suddenly hugged me from behind…

“Should we continue with your lesson on Mana Manipulation then? Or would you prefer doing something else?” She asked with a teasing tone.

“Let’s rest for a bit…” I said while enjoying the warmth of my loving wife.

You see… Early in the morning Silvia woke me up to start teaching me how to use magic. More specifically, Mana Manipulation.

It has not been going well… It is way more difficult than I thought it would be...

Electra also took the rest of my family to teach them the Human Language, Mana Perception and the common sense of Human societies. Orella also volunteered to help them.

The rest of my wives simply decided to stay at the inn and rest for a bit before our trip.

Ah! Today, we are departing from Norvek. We are going to Elise’s hometown, Alorari.

“Ru… Umm… I have something I want to talk about with you…” Silvia said shyly.

“What is it, Silvia?” I tilted my head.

“I can only talk to you if you promise that you won’t laugh at me…” Silvia seemed lacking a bit of self-confidence today.

“I promise I won’t laugh about any embarrassing thing my lovely wife is about to tell me.” I said with a teasing tone.

“I’m being serious!” She got annoyed.

“I’m also being serious! I really promise that I will not laugh about it.” I turned around and smiled at her.

“Sigh… Okay… Here goes nothing…” She seemed really hesitant…

Is it really something that bad…?

Silvia now had a determined expression on her face.

“I can’t aim my spells! Like, at all!” She suddenly confessed.

Ehh? Is that it? I thought she was about to confess that she murdered someone during the parties…

“Is that so?” I replied.

Silvia simply nodded.

“Look at that tree over there. I will try to hit the center with a fireball.” Silvia suddenly pointed to a lone small tree to our right.

The tree was at least 25 meters away from us.

“Take this!” Silvia yelled as a fireball was shot from her hand.

The fireball traveled quickly in a straight line towards its target. The fireball should hit the center of the tree at its current pace.

That did not happen… The fireball suddenly flew upwards towards the sky…

“Huh… That went better than I thought. The last time I casted a fireball, it flew for two or three meters before returning to me like a boomerang… It was really scary.” Silvia said with a bitter smile.

I was still looking at the fireball… It flew several meters into the sky until it suddenly hit a relatively big bird who was flying peacefully…

“I guess you just caught dinner for us. I hope it is edible.” I said to Silvia.

“Ehh? You’re really not going to laugh?” Silvia seemed surprised.

“Didn’t you say we were soulmates? You should know me better than that, Silvia.” I replied.

“Ah…” She still seemed surprised.

“So what if you can’t aim your spells? That’s way more than I can currently do, you know? And you also have several more qualities that compensate for that. You’re extremely smart, witty, kind, very charming and very attractive. I also remember that you’re also very good with other types of magic, right?” I tried to comfort my spouse.

“Ru…” Silvia seemed like she wanted to cry.

Unfortunately, before I could continue to comfort my wife, a flaming bird was falling towards us.

“Oh shit!” I yelled as I noticed the quickly approaching flaming bird

I raised my arms to protect us from the flaming bird. A light shield was instantly deployed in front of Silvia and me.

The flaming bird which should be a corpse now then crashed against the light shield… The shield was covered in blood…

“That was scary…” I muttered.

“Sigh…” Silvia sighed heavily.

“Silvia?” I looked at her while the light shield disappeared.

“Ru, I cannot aim my spells. Every time I try to do it with people nearby, it just causes disaster… In my youth, I developed a way to counter that fault. I simply just destroyed everything in my path.” Silvia spoke with nostalgia and silence.

“...” I could only look at her in silence.

“It worked. It really solved my aiming problem. You don’t need to aim if you just destroy everything, right? Well… That led me to having a lot of trouble with other people, I was labeled as dangerous even by those I used to call ‘friends.’ People stopped teaming up with me because of it… That’s why I got the nickname of Calamity Witch.” Silvia said while her eyes were tearing up.

I didn’t waste any time and immediately hugged her.

“Ru… Thank you… But my tale is not over yet.” She said while caressing my cheek.

“I will listen then.” I hugged her tightly.

“I was forced to work alone because of those major faults. I managed to defeat the Demon King and his armies on my own and took his castle for myself. The same people who labeled me as dangerous were now singing songs of praise about me…” Silvia wrapped her arms around my neck… Her voice was a bit shaky… I could feel her tears falling on my shoulder.

“...” I just listened to her while holding her tightly.

“I felt more alone than when I was labeled as a threat… Many nobles and royalty from all over the world tried to get on my good side. They wanted my hand in marriage just because of what I did and my status as Hero. I got fed up by it and returned to my village… I was very depressed for weeks until one of my childhood friends set up a date with a guy… I thought that it might have been an opportunity for me to settle down… Well, things didn’t go any differently in my village… I did some things that I am not so proud of during my time there...” Silvia hugged me very tightly…

It really broke my heart hearing her sobbing…

“When I was 1.890 years old, I decided to seclude myself on the castle that I stole from the Demon King. I purposely created a separate pocket dimension so I could not interact with anyone else… I only interacted with Arrat during most of my adult life. She would often come there and have game nights with me or try to convince me to give the outside world a chance.” Silvia spoke with nostalgia.

“I didn’t listen to her… I was still very bitter about the people of the outside world… In my castle, no one would judge me because I couldn’t aim my spells. There would be no one to try to take me as their trophy. Just me and my friend, the Goddess of Destiny.” Silvia was no longer crying.

“I had a lot of fun with her… One day she asked me if I was willing to do anything to be with my soulmate. I wasn’t sure, but I said yes... She said that she had seen me in the future meeting my soulmate. She told me that she couldn’t look at his appearance or destiny, but she had seen me smiling like I was having the time of my life… She reminded me of the Lifespan Reset ritual that she had taught me when I was younger.” Silvia smiled.

Huh… Wait a minute… So Arrat was her teacher?

(Yep! But pay attention! This is important! Be a good husband!) Arrat spoke in my mind.

I simply nodded and continued listening to Silvia.

“It is kinda funny… We had a very bad fight shortly after that… We didn’t see each other again until the day I met you… I turned into a bitter old lady with dementia, but I still listened to her in the end… I managed to meet you thanks to her…” Silvia hugged me very tightly.

I think I get the full picture now…

“Silvia, I don’t really care if you can't aim your spells. I would never laugh about it, and if someone were to laugh about you because of that, they would probably end up without any teeth. You’re irreplaceable to me, but you’re not a trophy. You’re my dear wife who I love with all my heart.” I said to her.

We have been together for a short time by the standards of a human, but… Silvia is really irreplaceable to me. All of my wives are irreplaceable...

“Ru… Will you continue saying that when one of my spells is suddenly flying at you..?” Silvia asked with a pained expression.

“I will. You gave me this after all.” I pointed at the bracelet she gave me.

“But... What if that’s not enough…” Silvia seemed extremely insecure about it...

“If that happens, I’ll think about something. Silvia… You have a thousand more good qualities that completely overshadow that tiny little fault. There will certainly be no nobles trying to take you as a trophy, and there will be no one laughing about this small fault. If someone even dares to try those things, I will beat the shit out of them until they can no longer walk.” I said to her.

“Sniff… You mean it…?” She asked.

“I do.” I replied.

“You really really really REALLY mean it...?” She asked again.

“I do.” I replied again.

“Ru…” Silvia hugged me very tightly.

“Silvia…” I returned the hug.

“Ru… I’m glad that you’re here for me! I’m really glad that I told you about my past! We still have to talk about my life on Earth which is just another whole clusterfuck of bad life choices.” Silvia suddenly smiled brightly.

“Well, if we are talking about bad life choices, my life on Earth is a good example of that.” I smiled back at Silvia.

(You’re a good man, hubby! Now get back here and let’s have another party to celebrate this!) Arrat said with a lot of enthusiasm.

(You really love parties huh…) I replied.

(Boy, you have no idea!) Arrat said with a mischievous tone.

Silvia and I spent some time alone together before returning to the inn.
